New To Historical Wargaming? Have You Tried Peter Dennis' Paper Miniatures?

- I've always wanted to snap up these paper miniatures from the fantastic artist Peter Dennis and with my current love of the Dark Ages, the 1066 book seemed like a no-brainer for me to pick up. If you're new to Historical Wargaming, this series could be a quick way to dive in and play some games without having to deal with plastic, metal and resin.

Paper miniatures will still involve work to get to the tabletop but it's a hobby that can be achieved with some glue and a pair of scissors. I was tempted by the 1066 book but there are many more for the Roman era, English Civil War and more.
Have you ever tried paper miniatures? Do you have some favourites from Peter Dennis' collection? Are the rules from Andy Callan worth diving into?

I've been toying with picking up one of these books, so I'm quite glad to see you take a look at one of them.
Hope you found it an interesting look inside the book to see if they're worth picking up :)
I love Peter Dennis's paperboys. I basically use them exclusively nowadays and even have a battle report video using them. Thanks for covering them to help get the word out, I wish I knew about them as a child.
Oh awesome - I'll have to check out your battle report and follow along. No worries on covering them, I love the work they do!
@@BecauseOfDragons oh I wouldn't bother watching my video haha, it was a bit of an experiment, I do plan on making some more interesting ones in the future, just a struggle to find the time for all my hobbies!
for any thin paper construction pva can make it twist/bend/ curl and take a while to set up. I highly recommend UHU multipurpose adhesive "twist and glue", I think it's alcohol based and cures while holding for about 10-20 seconds. It's great, clear and fast, without any bending of the paper stocks.
I will make sure to remember that when I get stuck into assembling this!
Why thank you for introducing me to paper miniatures. I'll definitely have to think about getting some of these on a later date.
Glad that the video helped and hopefully you find an army worth collecting in paper!
Those are LOVELY!
I have loads of paper soldiers from Peter Dennis' work. They save so much time for wargaming. How I wish they had been available years ago, because I have spent so much time and money trying to amass wargames armies using conventional miniatures, often to no result because of the time involved.
Peter Dennis does amazing work and I really do love what he's been doing for sure. I wish they'd been in museums and stuff when I was younger too as I would have snapped these up. Very tempted by the WoFun plastics using his artwork as well.
Great write up!!! Love the Paperboys!
Thanks - yeah, they do some great stuff :)
Finally gave in and got some of these after years of humming and hawing, however I almost think that buying plastics would be cheaper than ink :) Sadly no good "copy places" near me
Quite - draining that printer ink is the kicker! Hope you still get to have some fun with the paper miniatures fun though :)
Your "Apologies if you can hear my cat in the background" happened just as a motorbike passed by outside. For a moment I wondered just how loud your cat actually is.
Hah brilliant! She does have a powerful meow when she's hungry :D
Fantastic stuff. Really enjoyed it. Love Peter Dennis’s stuff.
It is ace stuff and thanks for watching the video :)
Nice
Thanks for watching :)

Had to downvote. You never show the paper miniatures other than in the booklet.
That's understandable. Was more of a review of the booklets and what the series offers. Will take that onboard and look and doing a preview of them actually cut out in the future
