So, on the topic of blue shields vs green shields. Remember that you only benefit from green shields at less than a quarter of your total health, meaning it actually might not come into play before you die depending on the timing especially if the enemy gets a few good stuns on you. Blue Shield meanwhile recharges faster when you have your shield up, but it also shaves off 4 seconds off of the baseline cooldown meaning it's going to take less wait time and fewer auto attacks to get it to come online as the two benefits of the talent work together.
In general I'd say go green shields if you can leverage your attack speed increase talents and keep the enemy off balance and blue shields in a game where you have less opportunities to leverage your auto attacks.
I was going to say something similar to this. Blue shield always gets value at any health level while you have shield. Green shield only gets value at >25% health, which depending on how the game goes and healer skill, might not be very often throughout the remainder of the game. Once you get spell shield at 13 and cdr at 16, the threshold to get green shield value takes longer to reach thus reducing its value even further.
I only play QM and ARAM so I have no reference on how effective each is in SL.
Curious why he didn't go Titan Killer at lvl 16 with all those stacks in Amateur Opponent?? The % dmg from titan killer would have absolutely melted anyone in just a couple of hits.
Less stacks if the enemy dies too fast lol. It is Fans style to pick suboptimal builds in lower ranks, if he would use 100% of his power in every game, b2gm series wouldnt last as long. Tldr, more ding sounds.
I disagree here. In essence, the talent for blocking is useless if the enemy does not have at least 2 painful auto-attackers with high one-time damage - and the talent for damage to mercenaries is useless if you are not going to farm camps and bosses solo. Damage from auto-attacks is 90% of Artanis's damage, so if you raise this value even by 15% - this is already very good.
Amateur Opponent works on minions too, which is a major boost to Artanis’ waveclear. And as a solo laner you are going to be clearing camps coming in your lane, so it’s still great value. Not to say the other talents are bad but AO is definitely the default, always good option.
This neglects the fact that Artanis already has considerable attack damage without the stacks, _and_ he has more than just the one damage talent. Amateur opponent works on enemy structures as well and is cumulative with Final Cut and Triple Strike, both of which also work great with Titan Killer.
Out of all three level 1 talents the stacks provide the smallest up front benefit and it realistically will never match the damage bonus from amateur opponent in any game. It's just as situational as the other two.
1) every single hero deal auto att dmg
2) every single hero should help with merc
Artanis lvl 1 talent is really nth to argue
You're picking artanis as a solo laner if you're picking to win. He's a fairly bad solo laner and will lose against Leo and hogger without amateur opponent. An artanis pick is predicated not on his damage but his ability to stick around a mid/late game team fight and disrupt, blind, and manipulate positioning. AO will allow you to not get spanked against a better natural offlaner. With no offense meant, your comment reflects a lower level of play, or a quickmatch environment. Which is all good, stacking arty zipping around and hitting 400 autos is sweet. It's easier to stack in the 4 man I guess, but I would say pick another character for the 4 man. Or hey, do whatever you find fun. Fan's thought processes on talents come from a really high tier professional mindset, so I tend to think his reasoning behind saying a talent isn't good is pretty sound.
In my honest opinion, e build with artanis kinda sucks, while pure aa damage build is decently strong
every time fan dont pick titan killer,it pains me
