I’ve owned both versions and still have the tweed which I much prefer, the differences are pretty obvious here. Great playing!

They nailed it with the tweed imo. I gotta test it out with some pedals, but that open sound should handle them well.

I just got the Tweed version in a trade, and was mindblown at how much more I like the C12P in it!! It has amazing "oomph". A little heavy on bass, but everywhere else, it's wonderful!
And, unlike other stuff that sounds great at home only to find that in actual gig conditions it doesn't hold up, this tweed BJ sounded wonderful in last night's show!!

I have a 90's Greenboard Blues Jr. with Bill M mods and a Celestion Greenback speaker. It's one of my forever amps.

Amazing picking and such a great presentation. So many bs reviews but not this one. Well done sir. Now on to the amps. I think they both sound fantastic. The tweed in my opinion shines the best on its own but would it be the winner with a few pedals plugged in? Glad you used a tele only but that’s just my preference. Look forward to seeing more of your offerings.

Here's a comparison with pedals. Reckon the black one sounds better with pedals and the tweed without. Tough one to call - I'm having trouble picking between them

In the clean channel: The black has more sparkle & the tweed has a dim tone & sounds like regular amp that been used & needs new tubes or something. I have yet to hear/play through a fancy looking tweed amp that has that sparkle & clarity the black fender amps like the Deville has.

I work in a music shop, We have both on the floor. The Black seems nicer especially when you hit the fat button. The thing is they just the same amp with a different speaker

Is it really just the difference between Celestion and Jensen?

I heard that they also have a different reverb tank but I'm not 100% sure that's true and even if it is I couldn't describe the difference to you

My lacquered tweed blues jr is cathode biased. (2019 black board)

"Lacquered tweed" sure sounds cool and vintage but on close inspection to my eye it looks like vinyl or colored tolex. No tweed fabric, no actual lacquer on my USA model. It looks good though and the handle on mine appears to be real leather.

In my opinion, the Tweed would be a better fit for me.

Black sounds way better.......and in any case you can have both sounds by replacing the speaker..... Good job.

Dont know too much about tube brands or whatever, but don't these have like marshall tubes in them? Seems weird fender wouldn't put in their traditional tubes in their own amps. This is basically more of a marshall amp than a fender amp.

Marshall amps were based off the original fender tweed bassman amp.
BJ is based off the bassman.
