    They are fine restaurants, you probably cannot fail with them, but there are a lot of other restaurants that one could recommend, with simpler dishes that are closer to the idea of Serbian national ones. Explore!

    So, you like progressive rock!
    To clarify one thing: Sparkling water is a quality Mineral Water, not just bubbles in water (which is conventional 'soda' used to mix with white wine).
    First time I heard expression: Clotted cream. Yes, kajmak (Turkish for skim, literally means 'summit'), is made from fresh cooked milk. Not homogenized milk, that will not work.

    I can recommend good restaurant with traditional Serbian cuisine ...it is actually the oldest restaurant in Serbia (200 years old)..my wife and myself had one day lunch and another day dinner this European summer...it's called "?" (Question mark)... the address is Kralja Petra 6 (King Peter no. 6) ...just opposite Saborna crkva (Congregational Church)...it is easy to find ...when you walk down the Knez Mihaelo Street (major pedestrian Street towards Kalemegdan fortress and nearly at the end of the street you will have 50 m up on right Rajiceva Shopping Mall but you turn left and couple hundreds meters down the street you will see Congregational Church (Saborna Crkva) on right and just opposite on left is "?" Restaurant.
    The weird name is because the Church was complaining (200 years ago ) that the name restaurant had
    back then is too immoral or if you wll inappropriate to be located so close to the church so the owner decided to rename the restaurant into "?". Thank you for beautiful. video Cheers from Darko, Sydney/Australia

    As a Belgrader I am surprised with the prices ... My outings to Belgrade restaurants normally cost more per person. Though you did not have desserts and expensive smothies ...

    • @TravelsInSpace
      @TravelsInSpace  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Unfortunately, we very rarely find ourselves hungry enough to get a dessert, which I'm almost positive is a shame because some of them at most of these restaurants look amazing.

    Its always funny as a vegan hearing people talk about vegan food like "this gotta be high end vegan meal", while its the spices that make the flavour profiles. We are not really missing out on anything, especially these days as people try to recreate the meat dishes in vegan edition, which some of us actually dont like, but if you went to a nice vegan restaurant, you would learn its just as flavourful, if not even more, due to crazy things people like to experiment with in the recipes 🙂 Plus you will most likely not feel like sleeping after a meal 😅
    I also think you deserve way more publicity, good luck with the YT algorithm !

    • @TravelsInSpace
      @TravelsInSpace  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have been trying more vegan food as we travel and I am finding that I suuuuuper dig what people are able to pull off. I still dig my meats, but trying to cut back.

    • @Lazarus_ReSpawn
      @Lazarus_ReSpawn ปีที่แล้ว

      Nobody ever asks a vegan any question. They come by themselves to tell us how special they are and how their salads and grass are just as flavorful as meat food. Snobfest.

    • @zerooneonetwothree1872
      @zerooneonetwothree1872 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Lazarus_ReSpawn Its quite the opposite. Those vegans that do that are mostly pretentious morons who became vegan to either be different, seek attention or other social status reason. Those that stopped eating corpses for the obvious reasons, such as valuing life over their own hedonism, are not telling you about veganism because they want to feel superior, but because they understand the impact you could make on so many animals and our environment and only few words are what is separating you from making that decision. Some take more time, some less and some just dont want to give up their pleasures, no matter the damage it is causing. We are all different in the end, so enjoy the diversity of this world, even if that means you find pleasure in eating sentient beings.

    It is good to see someone exploring sth really good from diverse Belgrade cuisine scene and did not fall for "traditional" chevapi and burek ..., which are OK, everyday, staple, fast food, but far from refined.
