I am an INFJ with so many thoughts and messages I want to express to others. Thank you for the tips. They have inspired me to connect with people in the public on another level.

Oh gosh, your video really helped me a lot. I am an introvert and public speaking or presentation is not my thing. My manager asked me to give a presentation to an audience this weekend. I am really overwhelmed thinking about how I would deliver the message in my non native language (English). But you're so right, people come to get information from me and all I have to do is to provide them a precise message. That's all.

But the thing is there's no part of being your self as an introvert that is compatible with public speaking. I can muster myself to do it but afterwards there's the mandatory self evaluation: was I being weird? Did I choose the right words? Was I too quiet? and the feeling that everybody thinks less of me now than before.

I'm 44 and think I need to be someone I'm not. I'm a mature student and will do anything to avoid speaking. I know I have an amazing writing voice. I also know that I have a mission. I take steps I have avoided any external success because I hate being in the spotlight. This video made me cry. As not only am I an introvert I identify as ASD and hsp so there's alot of other factors going on like picking up on people's emotions/energy/social cues, do they like me, he looks bored, psychically too.
I love this video as I felt like you were speaking to me. Esp when you said letting yourself off the hook with feeling the pressure. I haven't owned that I am an introvert. I think hearing you say that made me feel better about my fears around being public which it seems I'm not alone
Confirming that writing down and saying what I want to say FIRST. Sunk in as I very much try and wing it which when I'm 1-2-1 in a coach setting I can say exwctly what needs to be said. But in those group settings. I feel like I'm in a dark cave and can't get out and even worse when I didn't say what I wanted too. The shame spiral then is strong 😂😭
Thank you look forward to watching more videos and taking notes.

Lucia, I apologize that I'm coming in with the late reply, but I wanted to thank you for being so open and sharing your story. I found it to be so relatable. I think one of the biggest struggles that introverts face is the thought that there's something wrong with us. There isn't. We just have a different way of communicating!
I hope that you're continuing on your journey of embracing yourself and all of your nuances - those are your greatest gifts. Your voice matters.

I struggled with public speaking all my life, but always managed to get throught it. Starting 15 years ago this fear started getting worse. It was little by little until i could could not speak at all, freezing like an opposum in the headlights. I can present to individuals now but not a group greater then 3.

I'm so sorry that you had to go through that. There's nothing wrong with presenting to small groups, if that's where you feel your best. If you have something to say, never be afraid to seek the channels that feel best to you.

Presenting in a school premises is my situation. But the thing is, there is no mic available in our classrooms. As a introvert, my voice is not audible to most of the students. How can I improve that?

My team got the opportunity to present our project at Google I/O Connect and this is first time for me to present at such a big level. I guess last tip will be really helpful, our message is greater then my fear.
