OMG! What a beautiful tree/room! I'm of way lesser means, but I love how you hung big planer ornaments in the backs of the branches! Never even occurred to me & I'm such a perfectionist. I'm still pondering whether the garlands or lights go on first! I use understated fairy lights to give the illusion of lightning bugs & a simple garland of small wooden cranberries. My tree isn't sophisticated, but I get so many compliments. I just have to let go & just do it!❤

I really like the lavender/gray ribbon. When you mentioned the placement of the ornaments it brought to my mind how I would assist my mom and a friend of hers decorate two 14 foot Christmas trees at my former church. From 2001-2008 ( my mom’s illness prevented her from continuing to do it) they would decorate both trees the Friday before Thanksgiving. Later they added two smaller tress at the side exits but in my opinion the two original ones, which were in the church colors of purple and gold, were much more elegant but I’m probably biased… this is the first year since my mom’s passing 6 years ago that I have considered getting myself a tree again, even if it’s just a 3 or 5 foot tree 🌲 😊
