Just found your web site. Love it! What do you call the battery operated lights you wound around the birch bark christmas trees? I am having trouble finding small lights that twinkle. Fairy lights don’t and may burn paper if left on too long and I do want different ones to go on or off (twinkle) and be safe can anyone help? Thanks and hugs to all.
Hi Kathleen! So happy to have you here. I looked online and they don’t make the brand I used anymore but here’s some on Amazon that I think may work. Hope this helps. 💗 a.co/d/f9HZyZu
Love all of these, thanks! Dollar Tree usually carries white sand, or you can get it at other craft stores, and that would work well to raise the candle in the taller vase. To save a bit of time on cutting out the birch leaves, you could cut strips of the painted paper, and stack them. Draw a leaf on the top strip, and cut stacks of leaves in one go. Before gluing the birch leaves on, stuff the cone with wadded up newspaper or the craft paper to give it a bit more stability.
I love how you finish the backs of your projects…so many diy ers do not and if you are spending the time making the front look nice and professional, why not finish it off? Great ideas
I agree I like when the back is finished. I think a lot of channels aren’t going to actually use their DIY. So they probably don’t care. Just my opinion 🙂
@@miriamring1082 and, not everything is displayed against a wall. Re: flower arrangements, just like sculpture, they should be attractive from every angle.
The tree was fantastic. I purchased a red, white and blue real one from Home Goods for $7 on sale, of course and spray painted it a brilliant gold metallic color. Then, I added some greenery on top and a star. Came out great. I would like a partner but make it. Does anyone know where to find some real wood pieces? Thanks.
Make no mistake, I really enjoyed all of these (the birch tree is my favorite). But my favorite part is watching your kitty craft with you. I have three myself and they always need to be in the middle of everything. ❤
Wow, I'm surprised at how well that birch bark tree came out, it's absolutely gorgeous! I really love the twine at the top, and the twinkle lights are such a whimsical touch. I never would have thought to put the Christmas lights down first and then add decoration on top of them, that's really smart! (Hi sweet kitty!!!! 🐈)
I loved all your projects! I have a tree like the one you made, sans lights, that I bought at Big Lots about three years ago. After watching this, I'm considering gluing a string of lights on it, we'll see. 😅 I think your sign is Perfect, better than the example! I originally started watching your channel only to see the wooden bowl and candles project. However, you always showed a picture of the next project you would be tackling prior to starting it. I was hooked and stayed for the whole video. You have a darling ginger cat who is also a crafter. I could tell by the way he used his tail to help you paint. LOL, very precious!
Cats just love to help with crafting don't they. I have to put mine in the bedroom sometimes. She likes it in there. Sits on a fur pillow at the window watching birds, squirrels & ducks. Love everything you did today, especially the tray!
Treated like a Queen👑 Mine are always so indignant when I have to put them in the bedroom for some reason. I'm like you have a King sized bed with a comforter and pillows! And soft rugs! And 4 window views! I never convince them😂
Love the birch tree, but what a lot of extra work! I would cut a strip of the paper, fold it into squares the size of a petal, & cut out 5-10 at a times. Then I'd stack a group & curl them and be ready to glue. But such a nice dupe--I wasn't going to do any Xmas crafts this year (burned out on Halloween) but I might do this one.
Hi vintage lady! After I had already cut most of my “petals” I did think of doing something like that but I was already about done 😂 Maybe you’ll gat back into the crafting spirit after a little break. 💗💗💗
It looked like your "assistant" was more a detriment than a help! I agree with you that the tree was fabulous, but so was the first dupe. The two were so much alike, and so much money was saved. The Northpole sign was also adorable! Great projects
Omg, loved The Wonder Years. Watched it back in the day and haven't thought of it in a long time. Shows and movies are really not what they used to be. An episode or two of The Wonder Years would be great.
Petal cutting hack: after painting the paper and letting it dry, accordion fold the paper slightly wider than the length of the petal. Trace the petal template several times down the strip of folded paper, then cut the petals. I’m able to easily get 10 layers of petals for every one that I cut.
My very first visit to your channel and I absolutely love all these projects, truly I was blown away😲😍 So glad I found this channel and of course I had to subscribe, can't wait for more videos, think I will watch past ones and binge watch,God bless❣️
I love every piece you chose & the way they all came out...AMAZING Rhonda 💖. I HAVE to try some of these. Girl, I'd never have thought to do craft paper for the birch...you're something else!!! Thank you 😍
I like the way the snowflakes turned out. They look like there is a fog or that they're worn and give more depth and dimension to the sign. Everything came out wonderfully wintry.
I just love all your projects that you bring to the YT family! The candle arrangement is simple and charming. As always; looking forward to many new ideas from you for the Christmas season. 🌟🌟🌟
I love the Birch tree. Easier than I thought it would be. The North Pole sign is my favorite and I love the "faded" look of the snow flakes. Thank you for great directions.
@The Distressed Princess DIY I don't have a cricket, however it's spelled, but if you could do a video on the correct way to use stencils that would be amazing. I'm always messing them up.
Cut the DT vinyl on washi tape setting I have had very good results with it. I also had good result with the DT black glitter iron on too. I have washed it three times and it still looks very good
I love your DIYs and I think the accidental peeling off of some of the grey on the snowflakes makes it look more professional or purposeful so I’d say it’s a win. Love love love your take on the lighted birch bark tree too. I saw those on their website and instantly fell in love with them but not that price!!! Yours looks amazing and for a little bit of time and spare stuff around the house, you have customizable sized trees❤❤❤
Love the cats participation! These are all beautiful and worth the time and effort. I have seen so many videos that are for things I would never put in my home. Yours all look high quality. Thank you for posting. I am going to look for more of your videos.
Love that DG bowl, but wooden bowls are also something I always see at the thrift store for cheap. So it's a place to look, and usually cheaper than DG.
@@thedistressedprincessdiy I understand. I found a bunch of fall stuff at one of the DGs in my town that was on clearance, that could easily be turned into Christmas stuff. Sometimes the deals can be really good there as well.

As a florist of 50 yrs. I was professionally taught to finish off the back of our arrangements......just the classy thing to do!!
