4 Ways To Ribbon A Christmas Tree

Hello all, here are 4 different techniques I use when applying ribbon to a christmas tree, garland and wreaths. There are many more ways but I thought I would start with these simple techniques.

Great video! Love the clear instructions. The only thing I might add is that it would help if a colored ribbon were used with a predominantly white tree. It would help the examples stand out more. Thanks again!

Hello. your video popped on after watching another video, and I can not tell you how timely this video is, because I haven't put a tree up in five years, I just purchased a beautiful tree last week, and was planning to bows, or some kind of ribbon decorations, but didn't know where to start, because I'never done ribbon before. I've always put a tree up, but the last five years I only deocorated around the home. So that's how it's done! Never had much success with ribbon on a tree! This tutorial was extremely helpful and informative! Thanks! How many rolls do you use to cover a tree..dumb question?😮😊

That is not a dumb question at all. For my 9’ tree, I usually use about 6 spools of 10y ribbon. I use 6 because I usually layer 3 different kinds. This year I only used 3 when I decorated my tree because I didn’t want the ribbon to the the star the of show this year. That video will come out next week.

Hi! I'm a newbie! What I'd like to know is how much ribbon would I need for a 7.5 tree. I plan on doing 2 ribbons and starting near the top and working my way down vertically to the bottom. 😊

Hello Christine, great question. If you plan on going heavy with the ribbon I would get 3 (10 yard) spools of each ribbon. If the spools are only 5 yards then double it.

Good morning! I would use the same principle but instead of using the tree branches to tie it, use floral wire. You can find floral wire at any hobby store.

How many rolls per tree would you recommend of each design of ribbons?

It depends on the look you want to achieve. If you want a full ribbon look and if you are decorating 360, then I would buy a minimum of 3-10yard rolls of EACH KIND for a 7 foot tree. 4 of each kind for an 8 foot tree and 5 of each kind for a 9 foot.
If you are only decorating the front portion of your tree, then 2 of each for 7’ tree, 3 of each for 8’ and 4 of each for 9’.

Yes, you can ribbon a love tree and get great results. All you have to do is use floral wire to attach to the tree instead of the branches. You can find floral wire at any craft store.
