Is it my Birthday!?!!! Gosh as a jewelry artist, practically all I do is work in 3D and then create bas relief (Alpha depth maps then either gizmo (pull out) or inflate Z or Size Z. These new tools have just made me almost speechless with excitement! Especially the relief blur and contrast effects all in a streamlined process! Thank you Pixologic! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
This is a total game changer for our business. The only thing I can see that I don't like about it (and maybe I'm missing something) is that the alpha is rendered as if Dynamic Perspective is turned off, even if it is on. Would be nice to have it incorporate whichever perspective mode is active.
Zbrush has so many cool features! It needs a better way set up exact measurement, similar to a CAD software where I can get my exact measurements down inside of zbrush and not need to start a base mesh in another program
exactly this. Really like to define my object's length and thickness instead of eyeballing. On a similar topic, I did do some reading online regarding the size differences when exporting. It does this in blender as well. I decided to export via .fbx instead of obj and the export size stayed the same to my original mesh. Process: Import full male body from external program as reference to model armor on. Export: export finished armor via fbx. (export via obj, armor becomes really big in external program) Import: import armor into blender. Size matches.
What do I have to do to a cylinder to make it work with my brush alpha. I am following the tutorial up to capturing the bas relief of my model but when I go to put it on my cylinder nothing happens.
is there a way to make the bas relief without putting it on a disc? i have a celtic knot that has open areas that i dont want a solid backing or for it to extend the size of the celtic knot border.
When I try to drag onto my object to bring in the bas relief, I'm met with a prompt that says I am in 3d mode and do I want to switch to 2d mode. Any suggestions?
Hi mate, i use the make basrelief button and an image of my model appears in the alpha section and it looks correct but when i go to drag it onto another model, it then shows up as an empty white box in the alpha section. and if i do dragrect it onto one then it just makes a basrelief of an empty box. does anyone know what i am doing wrong?
At 9:27 when you show the transpose way to lay down the alpha you show how you pull it out and lay it on the surface then you move it around. how are you moving it around? when i do it i click ctrl then drag and it lays it out scaling it but i cant figure out the way you are moving it around. also why would the project relief fail? when i do it with the sample drone model it works but when i do it with a randon OBJ it fails. thank you
Use spacebar with the transpose line with an alpha loaded to move it around; not sure about the project relief failing, I haven't had that happen yet. Here's projecting a ninja turtle: th-cam.com/video/gHHTy2tdl6E/w-d-xo.html
Hi! I use MRGZGrabber to capture my sculpt and when I try to drag the alpha on my flat surface, the circle of my brush cuts parts of my alpha. Is there any solution to this except resizing this alpha in photoshop? When I do that it comes out in very visible layers. Projecting it with BasRelief is not an option because I need more variation in height. Pls help!
I get that same effect too using MRGBZ grabber; to have more control, I opt for changing my document size temporarily, then use Alpha menu > Transfer > Grab Doc to get zdepth information applied to a brush. also Alpha > From Mesh will give you great control too, but that's assuming everything you want to capture is part of one subtool th-cam.com/video/795pudVv0PE/w-d-xo.html
@@MichaelPavlovich Thanks a lot Mike. Your videos have definitely made learning zbrush a whole lot easier. I refer them to folks wanting to learn all the time.
Does anyone know where I can get that coin object? If I try to do it with a cylinder geometry is screwed up because I need something more like a quad sphere. THX!
you can zremesh a cylinder with find edges on, or you can use the geometry > initialize menu to create a QCyl which will have a quad-cap. or you can hit "w" to bring up the gizmo, hit the gear icon, and choose "polyCylinder" to create a quad cap cylinder th-cam.com/video/UJ1-UfKfzh0/w-d-xo.html
Damn it! Your tool does not work as cool as yours! It leaves ugly hard edges at heights that are not removed by any presets. While with the basic settings you are fine!

Same,I have been using grabdoc and its never been this good
Can't tell you how much time and prannying about this would have saved me on previous projects.
It's so pleasing. The setuping and mastering softs amazing.
this is undoubtedly a game changer.... RIP all CNC software ..... :)
This feature alone will save me 100s of hours. Pixologic as usually just killing it!
Awesome killer feature!!! Thanks for the detailed review, Michael!🤝
Revolution)) Bas-relief for everyone
Thanks zbrush! Thanks Pavlovich!
Blakey Don't stop making soft. I wished I started as early as you. You have a lot of years to learn!
This vide is saved as a reference for this feature !!! I can't wait to see the future improvements of this tool
This is the easiest thing ever now!!! I have always had to do so much to get this working right. Using multiple programs to get what I want. Amazing.

have. But, your tutorial was amazing and I have made a semi-decent soft. Thanks!

good. I might add that working with midi is much much easier in soft.
amazing sir ,namaste.
Спасибо, отлично!
i love it

You need a very heavy mesh to get decent detail when projecting.
I'm using the most recent version of ZBrush and there are no options related to Bas relief.. any ideas?
Also to mentioned that you can export these generated alphas for other software

Can it be used with Zapplink please

hello is it possible to do same using high quality image instead of 3d model ?
Is this then made physical using CNC or 3D printing? What’s is the difference between the two?
Can you use it to resetup s?

I wonder if there's a converter from photo to bas relief as well.

Is anyone having an issue with importing UI seetings from Zbrush 2021 to ZBrush 2022?
No, It work properly.
that's a great addition, is there any way the bas relief can capture an imported alpha picture as opposed to a subtool on the canvas?
How different is this from just using an MRGBZ grabber alpha? Has anyone done a comparion?
i cant buy it basrelief? pls
There is tons of websites that have additional content to help you.
Hey Michael, How would I turn an image into a model?
how many millions of polys have your base for alphas?
it does not detect depths well and the relief almost everything is seen at the same height
TNice tutorials

The speed control for youtube doesn't require an english speaker to use it

I sense a great disturbance, as if thousands of bas relief artist just shit their pants and started looking for another job.
You can make money with soft there are différents ways
