  • The people who say "our democracy" usually don't know what they are talking about. As it turns out, when they say "our democracy" they don't mean yours. This is more true the higher up you go in social status. The irony is the biggest danger to "our democracy" is something else entirely. So in this video I examine the related muh democracy spergout caused by Elon Musks Twitter deal.

    Anybody with a speck of an idea on how large groups function should cringe at the mention of the word "democracy". I'm more inclined to believe the Orwell's Oligarchical Collectivism at this point. It has better descriptive value for the two words it spends.

    • @Baalur
      @Baalur ปีที่แล้ว

      Oligarchical Collectivism at least has the birthrates to continue the system. I also would have hope that the proles or internal conflicts of the party would sooner or later dismantle the system. Its oppresion, inadequacy and cruelty are to obvious. Doublethink already contains the seed of revolt. In a sense the Dystopia of reality is worse than Oceania. Information control is much more subtle and effective than Orwell could have ever imagined. The telescreen is not needed. We take our smartphones everywhere we go.

    Hoppe is 100% correct that Democracy is the worst sytem. Every major collectivist regime in history came from some form of Democracy whether is be voting, the collective taking the direct action themselves against anyone who disagreed, etc. Even a "Representative Republic" is still trash as it's basically just Democracy with extra steps. All it does is slow down the collective tyranny which while yes is better than direct democracy, doesn't even attempt to stop it from happening in the end. It's like how Fascism is just Communism with some semblance of a market. Still ends up in a totalitarian regime over time, just not as quickly since the few market aspects slow down its destruction.
    So when anyone claims something is a "threat to Democracy", all I have to say is, GOOD!

      Democracy directly leads to socialism. Politican promises "protection"/"help", they eventually win, this creates irresponsible people that are dependent on those politician choices, then those people have children, those children now don't even think those chocies could be any different, and then another politician comes around... And repeat.
      People nowadays think the world would crumble if we didn't have laws and regulations that didn't exist even as recent as 20 years ago. Socialism is the end goal of democracy, because democracy creates irresponsible people (in some countries the process is faster, in some it's slower) and irresponsible people are needed for Socialist ideology.

    It is a good thing. The bad thing about it is the invented right to vote that didn’t exist before the 1900s because voting is supposed to be a responsibility, not something that anybody and everybody should do. There use to be things that you were required to do in order to vote but that’s largely been stripped away now.

    • @Aneko101
      @Aneko101 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's still a bad thing as Democracy is little more than a hedonistic lynch mob that doesn't care if their goal goes against the rights and wills of the individual. I will fully agree however that universal suffrage made it that much worse due to the types of even more hedonistic, entitled people being given such power.

I guess its better for people to put themselves in bubbles than moderators... but I worry that people who could be turned will never interact with people of the other side. I feel conflicted on this. I know its impossible to create a perfect system and this is next best... but we can't move forward if half the country refuses to listen to truth. While some people will never listen, its hard to win a ideological war when one side is taught to close their ears and ignore any form of ideological scrutiny and then enable them to bubble themselves even more so.

    When the authoritarians say "Our Democracy", they are being correct. Democracy means Demo (People, Roman) and Cracy (Power, Greek). The People are in power. But the "People" have two different definitions. The People could be the individual people in a given land. Or it could mean the State. When the CCP says People's Republic of China, that's what they mean. When district attorneys say "The People rest, your honor", that's also what they mean. The "People" is the State. And in this case, "Democracy" means the State being the government. So, Our Democracy means "Our position in power". So, if they say "Our Democracy is being threatened, it really means *"Our authority over you is being threatened."*

    5:16 You are using "cognitive dissonance" incorrectly here. Cognitive dissonance is the uncomfortable feeling someone has when he tries to hold two contradicting beliefs in his head at the same time. People immediately act on cognitive dissonance to make it go away, because, like pain, cognitive dissonance is unpleasant. When someone experiences cognitive dissonance, he either stops believing in one (or both) idea(s), or else he compartmentalizes as a psychological coping mechanism. There is no ongoing cognitive dissonance in the mind of a person who believes contrary things, because those ideas exist in separate boxes that, in his mind, do not ever touch.

      hate speech is a subjective thing that has changed overtime lol and can be changed with anyone whether that be "i dont like donald trump" or "i dont like mexican food", and speed limit is what the state decides whats a responsible limit for cars to go at a safe speed for a responsible driver. its clear your pretty uneducated on this and are trying to use a false equivilency falacy lmao

      The objective best speed limit is “as fast as you can without breaking ur car” the goal is to get point a to b, if speed wasn’t the determining factor u would just walk.
      So yea it’s a really pointless conversation lol

    • @MicahWarren-h3r

      The difference with hate speech is that it can be used politically pretty easily. Shitty speed limits can be annoying, like if you could only go 30 mph on major highways, but at least they apply to everyone equally and pretty much can’t be used for one side of the political spectrum against the other. Hate speech is basically the inverse of something like laws against degeneracy, like outlawing gay sex and whatnot.
      Take a second to think about how a hate speech law would look. It would have to leave a lot of room open for interpretation because you can’t just list out every example of hate speech. That gives a lot of leeway for the government to decide what is and isn’t acceptable speech, and let’s say you’re someone who is against giving reparations or something and the government decides that’s hate speech because it affects African Americans. That’s probably not the best example but that’s the kind of thing that people worry about when it comes to hate speech. It’s basically just a tool to silence people given to the government which is the exact thing the first amendment was created to prevent

      @@yukitakaoni007 "USA political chart" Yes I agree it's BS as it thinks two parties of market socialism are somehow total opposites lol. It mentions nothing about individualism or collectivism.
      The entire point of right wing and left wing is that the right is about upholding natural law/order including the natural hierarchies that come with it. This inherently it what creates individual liberty and Voluntarism since it fully respects property rights starting with self ownership.
      The left wing is about denying the natural order in favor some form of egalitarianism or any form of universal "greater good" through artificial hierarchies by force, or attempting to abolish all hierarchies... which of course in itself requires artificial hierarchies to enforce and maintain so it's really just a contradiction. This of course results in any form of collectivism whether it be absolute centrally planned Communism, or forms of Market Socialism to uphold some "greater good" by allowing some form of personal property or flat out lying by calling it "private property" in the case of Natsocs and Fascists/Natsyns, unless the state/collective deems it to not be in favor of them in which case they forcibly remove the property from you. All of these have some collectivist "greater good" goal that completely denies our inherent Natural Rights.

      @@Artemis28247 And how is it a contradiction? Natural hierarchies are those such as parent/child relationships and employer/employee relationships. Not to mention hierarchies such at some people being more skilled at certain things than others. Hierarchy is inherent to human nature.
      Unnatural hierarchies however, are those brought about by illegitimate force aka statism and is nothing more than people disrupting the natural order by trying to act as if they are above the rest of humanity and essentially playing God.
