Jim Cuddy played this at a Christmas gala I went to last year...my wife and I danced right beside the stage...he smiled and shook our hands when the song was over! The guy is a class act and a true Canadian treasure!!! What a moment in time!!!
I remember this song featured in an episode of Corner Gas when we all thought Lacey was leaving the show as it turned out that it was a dream that Hank had
I wanted to do something special for my wife on her 50th birthday which included a surprise concert, dinner, a special surprise visit from her sister, limo rental and really as much as I could squeeze into the weeked. Blue Rodeo was playing on a Saturday night and as we were out cruising in the limo on Saturday night having a few drinks one of their songs started playing on the radio and she said she wished she could go see them. I kept everything a surprise and as soon as she said that I thought hmmm perfect opportunity to reach into my pocket and pull out those Blue Rodeo tickets.I asked her if she thought they would get us in to see them Lol. The look on her face was priceless. The limo dropped us at the concert and the band sounded absolutely fantastic. It was a great weekend and my wife said it was the best birthday present ever!
This whole record is just a pure masterpiece .. A moment of magic in every song. I brought it to England when I moved there and turned some people on to it.. I brought it to the USA where I live now.. And it's found some new fans here too.. The best thing about living in other countries is sharing Canadian music. This one gets loved more than even The Hip..
Years ago Jim was scheduled to be on an AM-Talk radio show. He was running late so he called the station. They put him on the air, the host played the acoustic guitar as he sang this song from a phone booth in the middle of downtown Toronto. One of the greatest radio moments I had ever heard live.
It's been 7 years this year that my best friend, uncle, second dad, protector, comrade, Floyd left us. I couldn't listen to Blue Rodeo all of these years because he loved them. And I'm proud of myself because I finally did this morning. With tears, but makes me feel close and connected to him. Hurts so much still, but hearing these songs seems like a part of him is still with me. Can't bring him back but I will forever fondly remember him. Forever and a day.
Seven Bridges Road did that to me for two Decades after my brother Travis Passed. You find more heading and some vivid memories will replace the tears my friend
This is how I was for my hubby. Hes been gone 13 months and he had every song by Johnny cash. This weekend was the first I could play them and feel him closer . 😰
If you're young try and think about this song. Some relationships end they're just bad timing and you learn and you move and hopefully find someone else and live happily ever after. Or, you grow old and realize there was no more next time and all you have are the memories you blamed on Bad Timing.
My dad played music like this too, I appreciate it so much more now that I'm almost 40,. It's like I can't get enough of it now. I really have such an appreciation for it now . ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Broke up with the love of my life 5 months ago and this song always comes to mind. Always gets me emotional knowing what could have been if we just tried a bit more. Hope whoever she's with makes her just as happy as she made me.
I seen one of their first shows at the Camron house. Bazil Donovan told me to come..after that show we all went to a restaurant on Bathurst and Queen...blue rodeo...
My mom loved blue rodeo, they were her favorite ! She would be tired and upset and I would put blue rodeo on and her mood would change, shed get up and dance! My mom always wanted to see blue rodeo, she had seen Jim cuddy solo before but never got to see them all, until last year she took me to their concert in Winnipeg at the lyric theater, and it was the best time her and o have ever had. We connected, we sang and we felt every emotion there was to feel. My mom passed away at age 50 from heart failure in march. I'm so glad we got to see blue rodeo, I can die happy knowing she died happy. :) thank you blue rodeo
MICH0611: Thank you for sharing your cherished memories. I'm sincerely sorry to hear that your mother has passed away-she was so young and I can't begin to imagine your sorrow. Treasure the loving times that you had with her and stay strong. ♥️ Blessings and heaps of hugs, Susan
How very tragic, she was way too young. I am so sorry. There is something magical about this band and the power it has to make ever lasting memories that make us smile BIG. I am certain every time you listen to Blue Rodeo your mom is listening as well.
Talk about an Underrated Band ! Blue Rodeo excels in all 3 elements of music Melody, Harmony , and Rhythm. Add Lyrics and they hit a Grand Slam with this Gorgeous Song.
Blue Rodeo, Jim Cuddy…. My late sister Cathy and I, our favorite band of all time. Saw them together many times in Toronto. For years, it was too painful to listen to Blue Rodeo, still is at times. I love this song, brings me to tears thinking of my sister ❤️
Wow, I haven't heard this song since I was a teen. I'm nearly 40 now and this hits me so differently...let's just say it made me think of a very particularly person from my past. I'm not ashamed to admit it made me cry.

As that was close to a miracle, well it was for me... can't stop crying this morning ... my heart is torn to tiny pieces............ ....
I've never heard of this band until I saw the story about the tribute of Gordon Lightfoot. Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson from the band Rush played with the band. I decided to listen to this song. I'm glad I did. Beautiful song.
Jim Cuddy. When you hear his voice you automatically think of Blue Rodeo but this man's talent doesn't end there. He has solo albums and duets with other great artists. Just an awesome performer and songwriter in his own rights.
Believe it or not I just saw your reply. I am so happy to see your reply. A year later I am still doing well despite our mixed up world and covid. Greetings from Nova Scotia , Canada and I hope this finds you well also. Take care and stay safe. Ed
Thank you to the late local great from North Vancouver Joey Hanlon a fantastic singer of songs. He sang this Bad Time and Fire and Rain at my brother Randy's service. I was so happy I hired him to remember my brother.
Universal lyrics... To everything we've loved and lost...and the harmonica is the longest sound in the world.....so whistful....and the piano bridge is just ...beautiful
I saw them on a major late night talk show, I forget which. They kicked ass, and the audience went nuts for them. I think they were a lot better than expected. Their chemistry comes through in all situations.
Decades later... still one of the greatest. This song has always had its place in my heart - and then I became a father and “In My Bones” joined “Bad Timing” as 1 and 1A for me.
67 yrs old but this song takes me back to my first love in high school the sweetest guy a girl could ever ask for oh my regrets so now I put this on somethimes I cry .....I never meant to make you cry ..bad timing thats all .😢
have one of your CD's and love it. coming from California I never heard of you all, stumbled on you by chance. what a treasure you are. I'm 77 years old and music has always been a part of my life, coming from a very musical family, I don't know if you keep up with our music, but Dan and Shay is a very popular country duo, and Shay is my cousin and I'm very proud of them, but I love all country music and your music.
some time the video of the song is a distraction rather than enhancing the song in telling its best story. I can never have enough of this beautiful song......life can sometime be all about ...Bad Timing but in the end we all find ways to see the bigger picture and move own.
Hello from Ireland were we love country music and I just think this song fits so many lives and I just want to say God bless Yee and hope yee find love 😘❤️🤗
I was going through something in 1995, I was in love, I listened to this song all the time because he told me that I just had bad timing... we went on about our lives and remained distant friends. Just tonight, out of the blue, he told me he loves me... I wish he had said it 20 years ago
A number of years ago, they were playing a concert in Edmonton and I was lucky enough to be security back stage. Jim Cuddy and I chatted for about an hour, he’s a leafs fan and I cheer for the oilers. What a great guy to talk to, he’s really down to earth.
I was listening to Tom Power of Q this morning and he played a clip of BR. My wife and i saw the band perform live inside a hangar at Waterloo Region Airport......one the absolute best shows ever. Timeless music and great memories. Thank you Blue Rodeo!
This song reminds me of a man who stole my heart. I thought we'd be forever. But now I realize we were never meant to be forever cuz better things lie ahead for me. 💓
I think I left a comment several years ago...maybe not, I'm old! Love not just the song but the video as it could very well be written from a sailor's perspective. Someone can probably identify that laker(ship) and the location. I think of it as Sarnia just below the Blue Water Bridge? Love this band, too polite to reveal it's influence in the relationship I have with my now wife and too embarrassed to say how the lyrics to this song were very emotional and could have been detrimental to our relationship when I was being too Blue rodeo cute 😳
I sure do miss the 70s, 80s and 90s. The music🎶 today is not even the same. Sometimes I wish I could find a time machine and go back in time. Life was much easier and everyone enjoyed life! Is this your favorite song?
I live down in the states and just love these guys, You should be very proud of them. I have known about them for 20 years and always wonder why they never broke into our main stream music down here. They are truly better then allot of our so called country bands and such a true clean sound. If Jim Cuddy ever comes anywhere close to me I am going to see him and his band.
I think he only plays locally these days but don't quote me on that lol. There are lots of Canadian bands from every genre that should get more attention in the states though. Unfortunately Canadian bands are forced to americanize their lyrics (sell out we call it) if they want to strike a deal and be played on the radio there

No one does this country rock sound better! Blue Rodeo are Canada 's Eagles.
Mate ❤. Yeah! May we all meet in Heaven. This is my prayer 🙏
Beautiful visual....they gave Canada country music WINGS.....SOUR...,
Exactly!
Someone else said it...Canadian music at its best

After all these years, it still brings tears to my eyes. ❤️

hi, how are you ?
I remember this song featured in an episode of Corner Gas when we all thought Lacey was leaving the show as it turned out that it was a dream that Hank had
never was into Blue Rodeo until they played this song on an episode of TV comedy Corner Gas , hooked ever since
That scene always makes me tear up... When Lacey looks in the rear view mirror and you see her start to cry 😓
Just watched that episode and had check this tune out. Made me smile and tear up at same time 😂
I hope the boys in the band know how much this song means to so many of us...thank you

And immediately fell in love with the lyrics and their unique sound
My dad played them around me when I was little. Everything from on his harmonica and guitar at once truly amazing to see

I always thought the odds and blue rodeo were far better than the hip. I think they re overrated,
One of the most beautiful songs of any Canadian band ever

Jim Cuddy is one of the best vocalists ever, and it really shows in this track. Absolutely amazing emotional expression.
