I'm really exciting for any new Warframe quests that come out and i mean long story driven interesting quests, not saying shorter quests like the deadlock protocol are bad i just like the narratively long quests, also the part about the "hey kiddo" man in the wall part give me chills.

Yeah. I like the actual story quests. Second Dream made me feel like there was so much more to the game... and then I went back to grind trying to find more. Never really did. I miss the feeling of mystery... haven't played in a while. It's just a mob grinder game at this point. I feel like I just can't get into it anymore.

Am I the only person actually happy to See him? Sure, he scared the kuva out of me the very first time... but yet he‘s an other worldly being even feared by Natha/Lotus.... and he decides to just chill with us. Little lost tenno... calling us kiddo, seemingly granting us our power and so on...
I mean All Lotus needed to leave her „children“ behind was a guy with a long Arm.... But Space-dad? He helped us! He showed us where she is. Where to find a blade against sentinents...
So if he wants to chill in my orbiter checkin on me from time to time... I say „sure! Let him do that“ (Plus: he might be our only hope if our trophy turned enemies finally do escape...)

Yeah, that's why my personal theory I actually posted in one of these lore videos, anyway my theory is that the Man in the Wall is actually in you. Not your ship but inside you. The only time he is not inside you is when you're transferring to your warframe, that's why he gets control of your body and does as he wishes. Yes, he is not actually copying your form he is actually controlling you when you're out.
I know this for a fact because he once showed up hanging from the cables in front of our room. When I put my warframe between him and the door to enter the room, the seat where our main body stays was empty. Not only that if you transfer back into the operator's body he immediately disappears. According to the few pieces of info we have on him it is Believed that he is the void itself. A living representation of it, what this means is that all tenno have a part of him inside themselves, which is what connect them to the void and gives them powers. But of all Tenno he choose you to have his consciousness dwell within.
When talking to the "finger" in Railjack, he'll sometimes say, "Don't forget, you owe me." This implies that he was indeed the one who saved all tenno from dying at the accident all those years ago. Sadly we still don't know the reason why.
But this may be the reason why the infested fear the Tenno, since they are pretty much messengers or even avatars of the Man in the wall

The way I see the smaller quests is that they are setting up the background for the big stories. It seems like these side quests are becoming more and more connected, as seen with The Deadlock Protocol. I think the reason that some people didn’t like Heart of Deimos is because they expected it to be a big quest that had major effects on the story. But if you look at it from the perspective that it is setting up the Entrati and their characters, I think it did a good job at explaining their situation and relationships. I really hope all these things, like the heart, the entrati, the necramechs, Parvos Granum, the time travel stuff, the cosmic clock, etc, are all going to be important to the major story later. Because I think that would make it all the more impactful, and give a much bigger narrative purpose to these side quests.

    • @TheDsIEGE
      @TheDsIEGE  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

I suppose we'll see. I'm just not really digging them, Deadlock protocol actually was pretty good, but heart of deimos, fortuna, even the plains had stories that didn't intrigue me. I don't think the story has to be long to be good, too. I just didn't care for them. Personal preference, I hold no ill will to anyone who thinks differently. Truth be told, I'm glad you like them because that just shows the diverse group the game can appeal too.

    • @malaki7335
      @malaki7335 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@TheDsIEGE well I totally agree that they are nowhere near as good as the main quests. But I am hoping that they will tie into the main story, otherwise these side quests will be just that, side quests. But if they are setting up for something larger, then they will be given purpose by it, we just are unable to see that purpose as of yet. People have always complained about connection in the game, and I think that connecting the story elements would be a good place to start. Also, have you heard about the secret message that Natah sent us during Orphix Venom? I take that you probably didn’t play much considering that you don’t like necramechs, but it seems to be hinting at some things to come in the New War. (Which better not be delayed past this year or I am gonna die from waiting!). Another Great Video tho, I always enjoy hearing your opinion and theories!

I’m playing a game while listening to this vid in the background and every single time that I hear the “hey kiddo” once I start to get into the game a bit more I jump up a little bit, also if I had to choose my favorite moment in warframe it would probably have to be when the Tenno wakes up on lua, just hearing that beautiful music while that stalker is actually questioning who and what he is while our Tenno does the same was just fascinating to me.

Yes that's also my theory. He lives inside you. He's usually playing with you instead of trying to just scare the hell out of you. Just look at his spawn points, it's always near key parts of the Orbiter where youd look for information, prepare for missions, buy something at the market, or even just rest in your room, and he never just show up in a cryptic way, sometimes he's just chilling there, other times he shows up upside down hanging from the cables. It's like he is enjoying having the freedom to materialize in the physical world using your body. He is testing what he can do with it. At times it almost seems like he was bored waiting for you to return with your Warframe. Before Rell's death he probably dwelled inside him as well. But Rell never trully understood that or why, he seemed to think the Man in the Wall was following him.
We don't know why but it was clear that the Man in the wall has an objective that he cannot fulfill himself and requires someone or at least access to a body to fulfill it. He had chosen Rell for it. And now he chose us. Now this is just my opinion but there is probably something else aside from the Orokin, Sentients, the other races and the Tenno's allies. Something only the Man in the wall knows, maybe as old as the Void itself. And the Man in the Wall's objective, might be to retrieve that, or to find it.

On the switch version of warframe however your screen will actually be zoomed out for a sec before wall-e decides to just pop into existance, meaning you had a way of knowing he was about to spawn. On pc however i just never walk around the orbiter and always use fast travel. i only walk around when im in a call with a friend cuz im legit scared of it. I love Chains of Harrow but goddamn do i regret doing it. And then when he popped up after The Sacrifice it got me thinking as to what the hell happened. My operator saying that he killed Issah was one of the most confusing things ever. I still think about that and come to think of it, what if umbra is able to speak through us in a way? Like, while we are controlling him, Umbra can communicate through our operator, meaning wall-e isnt speaking to you but rather Umbra. Just a thought i had.

Personally I have PDDNOS and I could relate to Rell as a kid. My understanding of thing has changed a lot when I got older and stuff (This doesn't mean that I fully understand emotions and stuff.) so part of my liked it, but the other part of me also felt like they were creating yet again another stereotype to associate autistic people with. People on the spectrum are all SUPER different from eachother you can't really depict us in media and make it help people understand us because that just creates people pushing us into corners we don't belong in tbh. I am very talkative and social but my girlfriend is more quiet and more introverted (I'm still actually also an introvert but just a very social one but that's not really relevant for my comment) but we both have PDDNOS.

I felt I was mentally ready for the chains of Harrow quest when I did it. When it ended there was a sense of loss I felt, and while returning to the orbiter, I kept thinking... What do they mean we will have to take up Rel's duty now. Thought I'd shrug it off and once I came back my eye went to the Inaros decoration on the floor next to my codex and then there were the words. My heart plummeted like 60 feet before I dared look up to it. And the horror when I saw that it was the man, with my operators body. I instantly used transference and to my relief I still had control of my operator and then I ran back and he wasn't there. A couple more appearances and I realized, wherever there's void energy, the void is there too... The relinquary drive wasn't a massive surprise as a result, but terrifying nonetheless. Don't think m getting over this one 😅

I want an option narratively to full on side with the man in the wall, preferably even replacing the lotus with him as your mission narrator; my neutral evil mercenary tenno taking his marching orders straight from satan sounds way too hilarious and awesome to not be a thing.
Also, The Man In The Wall isn't on the ship, not really. You may see him peering around walls or sitting on your control desk, but he isn't really there. No, it's far worse than just a physical entity turning invisible; he is inside your eyes, in your head, in your very soul. The image you see of him standing around isn't really him, he's simply projecting himself onto your vision, into your mind. You are never alone, he is always there, always inside you and alongside you.

He's not in your orbiter, he's in your mind. If anything, that makes him even scarier.

It is really crazy how the first Man in the Wall encounter changes you. The MitW hasn't revealed himself to me for months now but even the slightest lag entering my orbiter prompts an immediate search, along with the de-escalating question of "is there a friend in my orbiter?" Even though the MitW is far from a friend, it helps me not jump as much. Even still, the concept that you brought up makes a lot of sense, which is terrifying. The fact that he never leaves and might be behind you or in another room, just not saying his typical 2-word tag line. It really is something to think about, and I hope that DE would consider expanding on this idea in the future

    Speaking about spoopy times...
Remember old stalker? Just screen flicker, then suddenly tile goes on lockdown and he appears. No big screens announcing him. Perhaps at best subtitle of his threat.
Now, as first time fighting against the old stalker, you were going to be put on edge. This stalker's AI made him fight more like a warframe. Stealthing out, firing shot of two from bow and then going for kill with melee. He had ways to cancel out status effects off him, knock you off his back and other stuff like that. Before I got overgeared for him, the fights were always a dread to expect.
Current stalker? He comes with loud announcement, fights like a mediocre boss with invincibility phases, telepraphs his attacks so hard you could call him Glass Joe.

I agree with you about the story. Ill never forget the wonder and amazement when first discovering what our characters really are. It was awesome. That really made me want to play the game even more because i thought at first it was just another f2p looter and shooter, just to make it to that storyline and having to pick my jaw off of the ground and re-lubricate my eyes. Now its been a few years and im waiting and hoping that they will give us another moment thats at least at that level of "surprise!"
But sadly, in my experience, usually with something like that, even in movies, cartoons, tv series, etc, when you get a moment of grandeur and wonder and amazement, wow factor seems to drop shortly after and is hard to match, let alone to top it....but heres hoping DE can do it.

The Man In The Wall's obsession with the Protagonist.
My take is that it's less that they 'have our fear'; rather, they are just marinating in their own victory. Poking and prodding at the protag; taunting them with the one consistent memory (regardless of choice) they have of their time in the Void.
Whatever their end game is, they are confident that they have already won: regardless of what choices the player makes.
The only conclusion that I can draw from this is; it's the protagonist's very existence that makes the Man In The Wall believe they've won.
    Spoilers past this point.
The most clear use the MITW could garner from the Tenno is their ability to contend with the Sentient. Unless there's some goofy third-act twist DE wants to throw in (like making the Lotus a quintuple agent or whatever), there's something the Sentient have (or, something they can become) that the MITW wants; but they can never properly commune as the Void is deadly to them. The Tenno are the unsuspecting (or even unwilling) ambassadors to MITW's schemes.

man I miss the old story-driven Warframe, the ending of your video felt soooo familiar.
I wish they kept the strange things like the strange Excalibur transmission while doing missions in the void, the guy was THE biggest mystery for me and my friends back then.
Nowadays we are only two remnants of an oldening clan, progressively washed out by the boring nonsensical updates and poor decision coming from DE.
The old flashlight that meant something back when Grineer tilesets were dark, the various gore effects when you slashed the flesh or the red text in loading screen, what are those? Even the scary manics attacks were cool... So many forgotten pieces from the past.
But even though a few of those old things are gone, Rell still remains.
