Extreme Kids Room Makeover with Custom Closet - From Nightmare to Dream Space

- My 5 year old's room was a disaster and was so hard to keep clean. He had way too much stuff and no storage. His room was also dark and dreary and stuck in the 70's (but not in a good way). We completely transformed his room. We got it looking so fresh and new and when it came to additional storage, @Artisancustomclosets and Carolina Closets stepped in to save the day. I'm going to share the whole process from design, to install, and then my favorite part, organization!

It's stunning Molly! Carolina closets did an amazing job. I love Jack's hidey hole! Funny story, I totally remember that Bernstein bears book and episode where the parents threaten to throw the toys away if the kids don't pick up their toys...it terrified me!

It was a big project but thankfully I didn’t have to build the closet! 🤣😍😍😍 It was so nice having someone else come in and do the work for once! ❤️

Love this makeover! My kids are grown up but I would love to have my closets look so neat and tidy. I only have a wall of built ins but they are filled to the brim. Its the only one downstairs and i can't go up and down anymore. My son and I who are both disabled have to use the same ones. Oh the stuff that I have! LOL Loved your sons reaction and that nook for him to lay in or nap in for that matter is wonderful. Kids often feel best when they are surrounded.

Have them help unless you want it to be a surprise.
Did you keep your kids old bed Frames. or did you get the ones?
No we kept everything and just painted the beds.

Hi my name is April I am Joe's wife I am a foster mom for 2 boys 5 and 4. I love what you did to their room. I need To Do the same thing can I ask a silly question when you took out their mattresses? Was there a bunch of stuff under the bed we are next moving soon?
I would like to get some ideas. I'm thinking of doing a punk bed or a single beds. How long did you put the mattresses on the floor for I was thinking of doing that when I start packing up their room? We are moving in a months.
Hey April! We actually only put his mattress in the den for a few days. Thankfully there wasn’t too much under his bed. I now have some plastic storage bins under his bed to help keep some of his toys organized. It’s nice when everything has its spot. It’s easier to keep it all organized! By the way, love the idea of getting bunk beds. It gives them their own space and a bit more privacy. You are doing great work friend! ❤❤❤
