You know you could velcro the rug liner of choice and detach and wash. I am going to do this as a project with my daughter. Key is to buy extra large and pre-wash for shrinkage. YES HONTEEEEEEE, I just saved myself $275 from wayfair. THANK YOU,👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️

Ha! Never thought of using those inexpensive self liners. I think I'll use spray adhesive instead to save my fingertips and a Curl No More for weight on the edges, but this was what I was looking to achieve.

It was pretty durable on hindsight I probably would either do a second layer of shelf liners or order a rug liner on amazon. My kitten pooped all over it 6 months later so I had to toss it

I tried using Velcro and I wouldn’t recommend it. It came off, and made it less washable.

If you sewed the liner to the fabric, you could probably throw it in the washer and dry it on cool/no heat 🤔
yah any rugs should be washed! you can not wash hot glue

I would hand baste with yarn to fasten the lining to the fabric. Then you can wash. No sew is not always best.
