As much as I adore this, I wonder how would you go about cleaning the rug once it became dirty? Would this product withstand the laundry or dry cleaning depending upon the type of fabric being used??? Hope your Thanksgiving was amazing!!

The foam keeps the rug soft for the feet and keeps it from slipping. It's a good choice, but you could also use the rubber mats you buy at the 99c store. They work, too!

Yes you can! Just make sure to use a decent amount of glue and wash on gentle.
Very nice. I need mouse pads that look like Persian rugs. But I want them a bit more durable and washable.
This gave me ideas. Many thanks! I'm going to sew them in or use a strong bonding adhesive that is hand washable.

How does the hot glue hold up over time and also after washing? I’ve never had good luck with hot glue so was curious. But also was wondering if maybe a spray adhesive would eliminate potential bumps etc from hot glue
Hey Jamee, it holds up really well. Hot glue gets into the fibers and it's almost impossible to get it apart without ripping the fabric. Once it's done, it's done! My Instagram if you're Insta-rested: instagram.com/themarkmontano/

Are you using a fabric hot glue in your glue gun, or would any hot glue work? Love how these came out. Thanks for sharing.
I used my Surebonder hot glue. You don't need fabric hot glue, just regular hot glue will do!
My mom left me tons of spools ..I wished I'd known what they were for when I had them 🙄 thanks for sharing I'll try to make one

Hi Tina, I don't have a video of making rugs from rags unfortunately. Though it's something I should tackle. The striped lampshade is just ribbons glued from top to bottom of a shade, nothing video worthy and very easy to make...promise!

How durable is this? How long do they last w traffic since I’m assuming it’s not machine washable?
It is machine washable and our held up quite well. "Retired" it when we changed the decor of the room and it was in good shape. It depends on the kind of fabric you choose, too. The glue is washable & dry cleanable.
