- Everyone's favourite Rikishi, Ura Kazuki 宇良 和輝 continues to entertain the Sumo World with his breathtaking bouts and unpredictable style of Sumo. In this video, I compiled all of his amazing winning techniques (kiramite) through out his young career. I'm glad that he's back in the Sumo Top Division and I'm very excited to see him next Aki Basho in Tokyo Japan.

Ura is a beast, I came here after seeing some of his amazing techniques in the Jan 2024 tournament.
Glad that he's in top division again
At first he made me laugh because he would bounce off the dohyo every single time and he has that big baby face. Then I grew to appreciate him. Now he's one of my favourites. He's like Majin-bu.

When the Basho is going, it starts about 11:00 p.m., so I'm up till 1:00, but too excited to sleep! By 3:00 a.m., I'm ready for bed, but have to get up in 2 hours, so I might as well just stay up!
Needless to say, after 2 weeks and a day, I'm sleepy, walking into things and pretty well out of order! Lol!

That Izori is what Ura pulled off in the first Grand Sumo of 2024. Glad to see him back in good form.
I am consistently more excited before every Ura match than any other rikishi I can remember. Anything can happen!
I love Ura. He always seems upbeat and happy. Only following Sumo for a short time, so this is a great to see. Hope to see more of his amazing techniques!
Quite simply, remarkable. His moves are mesmerising, if you can follow them. It's beautiful, it's Sumo, and utterly unreadable. Fighting Ura, is like fighting water.

I have become a huge fan of Ura over the last few tournaments. I love that he is a technician, plus that he loves the odd moves that are fan favorites.
Ura I by far my favorite in sumo. If he can stay healthy his success is limitless!
Wow, I thought Hakuho was fast at pivoting and pushing out in unexpected ways... This man is clearly super quick-witted, super strong, and lightning fast on his feet. I hope he goes on to make Yokozuna or at LEAST Ozeki rank because he deserves it!
The fact that He Won against a Yokozuna is amazing
he beat tochinosin the georgian right before his rise to ozeki and arguably his prime. Amazing really.

He has to be the most technically diverse rikishi going right now. I like the power wrestlers and how they fight on the belt, but I will watch this one going forward.

Total respect for a terrific and skilled Rikishi. Watching him is a delight. My daughter and I - in Portugal - root for Ura every time and cheer loudly every time he wins.
And amazing understanding of where his body is in space. When he pressed with his back and pushed his opponent out, it was absolutely brilliant.
Since Kotoshogiku retired Ura has become my favorite active rikishi.
I like most of them actually but Ura seems to represent the spirit of sumo whether he wins or loses.
If mochi was a rikishi, it would be called Ura.
Ura sure is fun one to watch. Also, what a great sense of balance.
The meme man of the sumo world, you gotta love him for his antics and the success he finds with them.
Ura is the most entertaining rikishi in the last decade and arguably the most beautiful Izori ever

Thank you for this one. If you could get the use of the 2 videos of URA in action OUTSIDE the dohjo THAT would be another great compilation. He is in the NHK SUMOPEDIA episode on mawashis and somebody's video on training ( CHRIS SUMO?) shows him doing backflips down a gymnastic mat. Then his interviews. Perhaps you'll run into copyright problems so that would be sad. But a compilation like THAT would be so fkg EXCITING!!!!!

Beating the Between Bashos Blues with your fabulous compilations. Was depressed but after watching Ura's spectacular sumo moves I'm absolutely ecstatic!! Laughed out loud several times. Almost wet my pjs. You're the BEST!!!

They allow attacking/grabbing the opponent's legs with the hands in Sumo?!
I though that Sumo only allowed pushing, pulling, tripping and throwing, and open hand slaps/grabbing to the upper body.
This guy looks like he has a background in other Grappling-based Martial Arts as well as Sumo.
everything is allowed except grabbing the hair and fork invrhe eyes, slapping but not punching. grabbing legs with hands is not allowed in judo (jiu ji tsu)
Ashitori (leg pick) is allowed, but it's harder to do than it looks, so it doesn't happen often.
