I have lct 440 pure microphone but this mic is too harsh for my vocals specially at 5k to 9k frequency range. I want to upgrade my microphone but i am little confused, i am planning on buying warm audio wa47jr microphone. Is this is a good choice or not?
One thing I've seen is people turning them around the other way when sitting and having it extend the mic toward them but it stays low and sort of stays out of the shot. Probably only for lightweigh Rode Podcaster type mics??? Nice review!
Love this video. I have had the DS2 in my cart for some time, waiting for a sale. Rode are too pricy with all their stuff. It's a great stand but $90 is ridiculous. Now I know that I can get the Elgato instead. This was an incredibly well done video. I love cats, the cat portion of this video was awesome lol. Even the cats know what the better deal is.
Liking the look (and price) of that Elgato! I have been looking at the Gator Frameworks GFW-MIC-0822, which I've seen get some great reviews, too. Wondering if you've had any experience with it at all?
Sadly, I haven't tried it! I would love to get it and do a BIG desktop shootout with several different options! One of my friends has that one, though, and he loves it. If you need a bit more versatility, the gator works is the right choice. If you are just setting the mic in front of you and you don't need more reach (or to use it for drums or anything), I'd go with the Elgato!
Dang dude! That is a good deal! I do feel like Rode is contemplating the price of the DS2. It's just speculation, but I feel like It will drop in price... soonish...
@@dannylightning-audio-reviews I hope you are doing well also! I got the bandages off my wrists and am ramping up usage, which has been sore but I am doing better!
Oh holy hell. THis is way better. Cheaper. 360 degree turning. And heavier base. That's just better. Brilliant business move by Elgato. Buying it neow :D I mean you could literally buy 2 of those elgatos for the price of one of those Rodes
So what I did with my DS2 was reverse the recommended positioning of the stand so that it faced back over the stand. Stick a ball head for versatility but the heavy mics now sit parallel to the horizontal arm and offset any tipping effect. Give it a go with your RE20. Cheers John, Australia. And yes as a mad keen Aussie, I love RODE.
You are the first one I've seen doing a useful and serious review about this product. I agree with you on your way of thinking. Thanks!
That is a tough decision. I do like the look of the of the rode too, but the elgato will probably be my choice due to cost! Great video!

I like the portability of these stands verses the longer arms. The Elgato looks like my next purchase.

Great video! Have you seen the yellowtec Mika table stand?
Have me watching a 22 min video on a boom arm... well done!!! lol

I’m upset that I missed out when the DS2 went on sale on Amazon a month or so ago for $67….🤦🏻♂️ just gonna patiently wait for that sale again!!!

Nice customized SM7Bs, it renders well on camera.
Thanks! It's actually just a custom "skin" that I got for pretty cheap and put them on myself!
That's what I thought, you might want to add link to those, for anyone looking for something less permanent than a paint job.
great video...i hope you have been doing well

@@Dracomies The elgato is great! I hope you enjoy it!!!
The cats choose “El gato” it’s pretty obvious 😅
So what you're saying is, size matters as does...heft. 🤣
ABSOLUTELY!!! 😜

Most Rode products are overpriced and not value for money, its time people start calling them out
