- 📔 DESCRIPTION 📔
Take a ride in the cab of the TTC's (@OfficialTTCchannel) Line 2 subway, in real-time, from Kipling Station to Kennedy Station.
The TTC's Line 2 subway opened its first segment in 1966 and has been extended twice since, with extensions opening in 1968 and 1980. Line 2, at the time of this video, is just over 26km long and has 31 stations. Construction has recently begun on the third extension of Line 2 from Kennedy Station to the intersection of Sheppard and McCowan which will have three new stations and completely replace the TTC's aging Line 3 rapid transit line. The new extension is expected to begin service sometime around 2029 or 2030.
All footage captured in this video was recorded on July 6, 2022. All filming was completed under authorization from the Toronto Transit Commission. The TTC Subway font/typeface in this video is used under license from Quadrat Communications.

💲 ABOUT AD PLACEMENT 💲
Revenue from Ads, Memberships, and 'Super Thanks' is what enables me to produce these videos and provide them to all the amazing and supportive transportation enthusiasts out there. To produce these videos I need to pay for film permits, location fees, liability insurance, transit staff time for supervision, as well as travel expenses; so, on real-time transportation videos, in addition to ads at the beginning and end of the video, mid-roll ad breaks for potential TH-cam ads are placed in the video at stations/stops at the point when the vehicle comes to a complete stop and opens the doors. This ad placement is intended to be the least disruptive to viewers, your understanding and support are greatly appreciated.

I am a retired TTC operator drove buses and subway on line 1 (YUS) to us old timers never operated on line 2 (Bloor-Danforth). I miss driving the subway it was a fun job.
You guys were the best, loved how you would let curious children into the cab, very nice of you, today's closed cabs are inhuman IMO, thank you for your service, really appreciate it 😀
Mr. Breedon, I miss those old times.
Best line on the subway tbh
I always liked how at Spadina you can see the tracks to the right as you leave the station that lead to the Yonge/University Line and how at Bay station as you come into Bloor/Yonge you see the tracks to the left that are the ones leading from Lower Bay.
Arriving at crispy, crispy station
I watched the whole thing today.
I'm watching as well
BTW maybe do some subway compilations at all the Line 2 stations
how are there so many trains going one place on one line

Le Metro (STM) in Montreal wipes the floor with the TTC.
Oof
@GrandRiverTravelTransportation enjoying your front view ride videos very much! Are you maybe planning to record UP Express front view ride someday? Do you have any plans for Montreal?
I am speaking with staff at STM in Montreal right now about filming the Metro in March, looks like they’re open to the idea, so cross your fingers. As for UP (and GO Transit), I did ask Metrolinx about filming last summer and they declined, so I don’t think that’s going to happen.
@@GrandRiverTravelTransportation then looking forward to your Montreal videos :)
You need to listen, idk why youre picking up some annoying vibration noise on this
I did notice that during editing, it was definitely something on the train itself vibrating, it couldn’t be helped.
Can we do away with the commercials? They take all the fun out of watching these videos.
I would love nothing more than to do just that. Unfortunately, the ad revenue is the only thing that helps pay for the production of these videos; I have film permits, liability insurance, hotels, airfare, rental cars, etc. to pay for so I can continue publishing these videos.
