    Thank you everyone for your support with these last couple videos, I hope you find them helpful and easy to understand.
    Also, big apologies for an audio issue if you are using headphones. We recorded both episodes on the same night and I didn't realize there was an issue until afterwards. The audio seems to be find if you're not watching with headphones.
    Until the next one, tight lines and many blessings to all of you!

    Excellent segment on surface/yo-yo jigs. That was the most concise and informative overview I've seen to date. A lot of jig guys get real technical because they're so into it, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but for occasional charter/party boat guys like me, simple and to the point is best. Also, I agree with him on the Izorline -- it's economical and just flat out works. Great video!

      Thanks Manny. I'm pretty new to the inshore/offshore scene so I don't even have a fish on the iron yet...really wanted one this year but the one time we went paddy hopping, they were all rats. Stuck a couple on the sniper tho, which was still fun!

      @@BenjieKimFishing I've been fishing the salt the past 4 years. I've never caught anything on the iron either lol I've had lots of success using Shimano Colt snipers and flat fall jigs. Im a photographer so I love going out with my camera as well as take pic of whole fishing scene.

    What's the difference between yoyo jigs and surface irons? Seems the terms are used interchangeably. Is a yoyo jig simply a surface iron that is dropped to bottom and cranked up vertically? If you fish these jigs vertically they're called yoyo jigs whereas horizontally they're called surface irons?
    I'm looking for yoyo jigs that kick hard when retrieved vertically (for yoyo jigging). Any suggestions? My search had caused me confusion re: yoyo v. Surface iron.

    I have not visited Savon tackle yet... I want to go. I have lost too many fish using circle hooks. J-hooks for me.

    • @BenjieKimFishing
      @BenjieKimFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What's up Jason! Everyone's got their personal preference....I've mostly used circle hooks but I'm gonna experiment with j hooks the next couple trips.

      @@BenjieKimFishingBenjie! I hope all is well. I have caught lots of fish with circle hooks. Tuna, yellows, etc., but the last few times I went out, I felt the hook pull right out of their mouth. My son and I lost a lot of fish. Some people swear by circle hooks. I've lost my confidence in them.

    For the hooks, are you attaching the fluorocarbon directly to the mainline/braid via knot or swivel?

    • @BenjieKimFishing

      No swivel, connection knot. Everyone does it different, but I like the RP knot.

    Owner hooks for me, I feel I get a better hook set. Something went wrong with audio, could only hear from the left side.

    • @BenjieKimFishing
      @BenjieKimFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've actually used owner hooks almost exclusively myself too but after hearing his preference and seeing the price difference, I picked up a few packs of the j hooks to try out on future trips. I do like the smaller profile as I've had some issues trying to find the proper hook when the bait is small.
      So sorry about the audio issue, we recorded 2 episodes that night (this is part 2) and I didn't know about the issue until after I released the first one. Will definitely get it right for future vids and thank you so much for letting me know.
