  • Today we're comparing two steamed buns from two popular Chinese bakeries in the heart of Vancouver's Historic Chinatown! You don't want to miss the battle of the baos 🔥 I also visit another spot during a media visit that specializes in fried chicken. Come explore Chinatown with me.

Love the bao vs. bao idea. I've tried both of the baos from New town and Kam Do. I agree that Kam Do does it a bit better. It tastes more traditional like grandma makes it ❤..Hi Mochi too ❤

Thank you for this video. I visited New Bakery on the weekend and loved their bun, so now with Kam Wai to look forward to, I know where I'll be heading this next weekend. From Toronto, btw and there's a New Bakery there too but it's nowhere close to being as popular as the New Bakery in Vancouver!

Thank you so much for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed New Town Bakery. 💗 I love Toronto and definitely want to visit again soon. Hope you’re having a great time in Vancouver! ☺️

:) THANKS MUCH for sharing! Have had New Town, but not the other Dim Sum place :( Apple Tart looked YUMMMY. BUT the place back in the day for them was across the street at HK Cafe, sadly long gone! ALL the BEST and Cheers! :)

My favourite baozi in Chinatown is from Sunfresh Bakery. So good.
I haven't tried the baos from Kam Wai. I'll have to give them a try.

I didn't have a good experience at Kam Wah. The pork zongzi (glutinous rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves) were the worst I've eaten in my life. There were no pork meat in it except for a big piece of pork fat wrapped in the glutinous rice....quite tasteless. Didn't find the frozen dumplings that good either. I wouldn't recommend this place.

If your comment is legit, let us know where there is a better place for frozen dumplings. You are comparing to what other vendor?

Firstly, there's no reason for me to lie cause I gain nothing from it....just voicing my opinion like everyone else. Secondly, if you learn to ask nicely, maybe I will tell you where to find better frozen dumplings. @@yohan2437

Have you tried other ones? My grandma used to make them and it’s traditional to use salted pork fat. I have not tried Kam wah ones so I don’t know if theirs are any good.
