Great batrep! fun to watch. Great looking models and terrain as well! i'd love to know how you painted your terrain up!
Thanks! The terrain was super simple and I finished the paintjob in under 4 hours. First I sprayed it with Vallejo "Alien Purple" spray (from a rattle can), then drybrushed with a cheap offwhite craft paint. Next, I sponged on some leadbelcher around the edges and areas of high traffic, and also applied some with a brush to pick out a few details.
Finally I applied Vallejo "Old Rust" pigment powder around the bottom of all the pieces. Very happy with how it turned out considering how quickly I got it all done! Thanks for watching :)

Great batrep. I think this is the first time I've seen a game be decided so much based on position and activations rather than kills. It's fun to see a precise and technical win from time to time.
Top of turn 2- Omni scramble the Plasma (Ogryn is far away and Plasma is the only 1 shot kill), Comms orders Saboteur to Dash, Saboteur Move-Plant Explosive-Detonate. Even if he dies you kill 3 of his units. You're now 5 vs 8 with one of his 8 on 1hp. It's a good trade. It's what the Saboteur was meant for.

I know right!??! Honestly though - we played A LOT of practice games with these teams before filming and I found that he almost never got to actually fight, even in games when the Blooded won. I feel like his main strength is just soaking shots, and in that sense he served his purpose here. Plus even if he's not always optimal I will never not take him, the model is way too cool lol.

Personally I loved that thug play. Even if it hadn't worked out, it plays into the strength of the faction, namely expendability. Also love how vibrant the blooded team are - great job Brad!

Nice battle report, but i kinda hoped that at start TP2 saboteur would plant mine at the bunch of blooded beside the bunker and blow them up without retreating.
From top view it looks like he would hit 3-5 of them, he would probably die horrible death in the process, but thats the risk im willing to take. :P
Some of the best Kill Team content on TH-cam. That’s not how you pronounce “corpsmen” though. The “p” and the “s” are silent.
I've made the same mistake withTactical marines by using a grenade thinking I could Bolter Discipline afterwards... Intercessors really have such a better bolter discipline in every sense of it!

The compendium teams are fun and great for learning, but I think the bespoke teams are where the real meat of the game comes into play.

Great game and battle rep, but as i understood the situation, the ogryn was masked by the terrain when the Medic shot and killed him at 17:50... I am wrong on this ?
Since the barricade is only light terrain and the medic is shooting from a vantage point, the ogryn is treated as having an engage order!
@@MountainsideTabletop i'm talking about the platform you're shooting from, your line from base to base crosses the Heavy terrain more than 1" from your base, so your target shall be marsek as i understand the situation (this happens 3 times the game)
I believe this is because the active operative is within 1 inch of the obscuring terrain
@@MountainsideTabletop hummm in three of the shots this is not the case, they are on the other side of the platform, so that's why i say it, i sent this onto our french Discord and they agree but if no one else saw this as a mistake we may be wrong

Dude has guts to waste a premium model for a thug unit.
phobos guy definitely played too conservatively, he barely made use of bolter discipline, he didn't used the marksman/sargent INSANE shootings enough, and i feel like sometimes he could have targeted important targets with bolter discipline and deathly shots and just rip through the other guy's kill team, but overall pretty good game.
Can you please explain why the Obscured rule was cancelled at 10:37 ?
It's a special rule of the "Fronteris Stockade" walls that come with Moroch. "When determining Line of Sight, if the active operative and/or the intended target is higher than the highest point of this terrain feature, it is not treated as Obscuring. Note that measurement is determined from the operatives’ bases."
