Hello, you should also try the same tests with going in reverse also. One time, I was stuck in snow couldn't go forward. The only way was reversing but the awd just wouldn't work in reverse. Hence, I think we should also do roller tests in reverse.
2,5T kuga in the video is basically drivetrain from volvo. We had a 2.0 diesel kuga and the AWD worked surprisingly well. Compared to our XC90 it was aggressive (volvo on the other hand very smooth). You could distinctly feel when it was putting power to the back wheels. If you were hard on the throttle on mud or snow, with ESP off it was spinning all 4 wheels the same time and pulled forward like crazy. Traction and handling wise very good, but tough suspension and the diesel engine from Peugeot had its quirks. It went, volvo stayed and also came volvo Nr. 2 and 3 😂
Could you please do a comprehensive roller test on a front wheel drive Land Rover with Haldex (Gen 4)? I have a diesel Freelander 2011 and I am wondering how much better or worse it is than say, an Audi / VW, with my vehicle being controlled by Land Rover's "Terrain Response". i.e. How much of the electronic control (in systems such as VW 4Motion, Audi Quattro, Subaru Symmetrical AWD, Ford Intelligent et al.) affects the mechanical drive for all these cars? Does software engineering and ecu control transform the *same* AWD systems? The FL2 has been super capable so far (Haldex 4th Gen). PS - your Haldex vs Torsen test was very interesting!
It is hard to find any Land Rover for the test... When it comes to software - manufacturers usually use their own programming so two mechanically the same awd systems may work completely different.
Hello. I have a useful desire. I believe that the same tests should be carried out, but on the mountain, because on a flat road it is very simple and almost every car can handle it. In this way, you will increase the load during the tests. But if you imagine real conditions, for example, swamp or snow, then the car will not be as easy as on dry asphalt.
Jestem w pozytywnym szoku.
AWD?
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers Oczywiście. Tylko teraz mam ćwieka czy Mk. I czy Mk. II
Given their intended applications, these AWDs actually works pretty well.
Both cars performed well with no failures

We made a few tests on reverese and there was no problems. What car do you have?
Pretty impressive given the age and nature of the vehicles.
I find the behavior very similar. The traction control on the Ford seems a bit more brutal to me. But the result is there.
Surprised by the Kuga, Edge couldn't make it.
4motion is pretty good as well, it just needs a bit more wheelspin but it does the job, pretty surprised with the kuga

@@martinl1427 look under your volvo, it's written everywhere "fomoco" = Ford Motor Company, sit down 😂😂😂
@@rcosmo13 No you are wrong its written HALDEX with big letters.
To rolki 🙂
What's that sort of clicking noise with Kuga? Is it coming from the vehicle or the roller?
It depends which one you ask, some are from rollers, some may be from Kuga.
Don’t they both use the same haldex AWD unit.
They do but software is different.

@@4x4.tests.on.rollers That is interesting !! I assume software / how the ECU module is programmed can make or break a good AWD system!
@@hello.gumption That's exactly how it is.
Tiguan AWD is more in control, Kuga is a bit hysteric but they both did it.
Where do you see such a difference?
@@4x4.tests.on.rollerswhen testing the cars on 3 rollers, Tiguan was smoother.
@@jpch8814 The difference is insignificant. Tiguan ain't pushing the rollers away but they were heavier those days than they are now.
No Not really.

Where can I get those rollers?
Custom made.
Not going to lie, I'm impressed :O
What happens if a fwd car is with one wheel on roller? Can you test this with different cars?

Plutôt pas mal quand même!
Would you choose tiguan or kuga to do light off road ?
Imho both would be fine.
Tranmission on VW in D or S?
It's manual.
Beautiful cars but tiguan is too much expansive
Tyres do not influence the test.
Different software.
Kuga better driver 😄
Why?
