If only all cutscenes were done like this.. Crazy quality.
For real, this is like one of two good cutscenes in Valhalla
Animation, voice acting, direction, perfect.
The base game lasts 100 hours. It is very difficult to make cinematics like this
Seriously it’s the only cuts scene that was of actual quality, the rest were horrible dog shit
Still has the awful audio quality unfortunately
A llot of cutscenes in Valhalla look this good
Not only was these scene voice acted so well, graphically beautiful, perfect ambience the crackle of the flame, the deep words, but with the true meaning of Basim’s words while Eivor has no idea he is indirectly the one who Basim is speaking of….chilling cutscene.
This is the Basim I was remembering in my mind
Not the guy who's thinking he's Basim in Mirage
@@A-N-I-M-U-SThat's the single most idiotic statement I've ever heard

stop lying
You can really tell who's played mirage and who basically skipped or didnt pay attention to Valhallas story lol,
Basim is referring to his time as loki, talking about odin, a man he trusted killed his song, the giant wolf boss fight in asgard, and went out of his way to save everyone but Loki's life with the world tree, only for loki to survive anyway, and eivor, the reborn odin unknown to the character and player at this moment, is the one who killed Loki's son and betrayed him. Mirage doesn't cover this, It just shows basims life leading up to when he learns the truth
Exactly, I am playing AC Mirage and I can not stop thinking that the Basin we met in Vahalla is actually Loki that took full control, also their story as ISU should way different from what as portrait as Viking mithology, so is possible his son was normal person and not a wolf really
@@pandacozumelableI think it's more like mixed race couple issue. Yeah both asgardian and jotun are isu, but there's probably a caste system between each other (isu and lesser isu)
Or it's just another isu behavior, they like to backstab between each other anyway
He's not learning the truth, but manipulated by Loki to accept him by disguising as his comfort character (Nehal). If only he listens to the Brotherhood and reject Loki from manipulating him further tho
And when he’s talking about the Creed, it’s Basim himself talking. He does believe in the cause, but Loki’s selfish desires overrode that and put him in that simulation for a long time
mirage just came out. wait until new years to say something like that
Ubisoft does best writing 20-30 hr stories. I truly think Valhalla would’ve been far better if the Basim/Sigurd thing was the main story, and everything else was side content.
I wish every cutscene in the newer ac games were like this
This hits different after you finish mirage
Honestly even without it, this scene hits so hard after completing Valhalla and you realize that Eivor is the one who took Basim’s child with Odin and Loki.

Its been 77,000 years since the death of his son and Loki still grieves.
Well for most of that time he was non-existent, dormant in the DNA of Basim’s ancestors until Loki’s genes kicked in and he was reborn anew, plus the time it took for Basim to eventually regain his identify as Loki thanks to Nehal. So for Loki, it didn’t happened to him 77,000 years ago.
0:24 Damn, that's in Mirage's version of Ezio family they used the lyrics "Where's my home?, who am I?" in Arabic.
Basim doesn’t have any family left.
This hits different after playing assassin's Creed mirage
I think the new mentor is going to be the one who kills basims son in a dlc 😮
There will be no DLC probably, but in this cutscene, Basim is refering to Loki's son, Fenrir, who was trapped by Odin (his friend and mentor). Basim himself did not have children, afaik@@justinreeves2696

Damn this cutscene is incredible. It shows that Ubisoft are still capable of quality when they want to.
Of course they're capable, that was never in question. The problem is that they'd prefer to save time and money by making stale cutscenes with AI lipsyncing and idle animations rather than these cutscenes with actual cinematography and motion capture. This quality used to be the standard
I will never take for granted mocapped cut scenes ever again
It’s a very strong scene until you realize that it's Loki speaking, who fathered a son with the giantess Angrboða, and that the son was a gigantic wolf. lmao
no its not the nordic loki but isu loki and there was no real gigantic wolf his son was just murdered by the isu guy who became odin through legends but yeah the legend ddoes fit this well
it's all myth twisting the truth, theres no wolf or giant it's just a twisted myth of the truth
easily the best scene in the entirety of this game
I just now realized despite playing this game currently for the 2nd time that he is speaking about Fenrir and Odin!
The irony of this scene is that Basim/Loki is talking to Odin's reincarnate lol.
a.k.a kratos kiled his father and son xd but the game is still stupid cause how can they just trust basim? he did just kill layla.. sooo..
@@eivorygaming4484 you obviously don't understand much of AC.
He was a friend to Sigurd around 2 years before the beginning of the game, and spent several years with the Raven clan. They trusted him because he was seen as an ally and friend. Of course he had intentions of figuring out who was Odin's sage, but he still helped them out despite that.
And yeah, he may have caused the Layla's demise, but even so, he is still valuable ALIVE considering he's an old member of the assassins. Like it or not, he's definitely meant for something. Odin is a separate entity.
You’re right about everything except for the “deal with Loki” part. There’s no communication or deal between Basim & Loki after the events of Mirage. Basim *is* Loki. They are now one, made whole. @@pepito_5815nah it’s Loki that’s why he tried to kill him cause he’s Odin and Odin killed lokis son
The whole asguardian story of Odin killing Loki’s son is just a metaphor or a representation of what happened. Basically the ISU Odin betrayed Loki and killed his son (obviously was humanoid and not a wolf)
I figure he was probably an isu monster like the ones in oddysey
Fenrir, basim knows he is loki. But Eivor is unaware basim hates Odin.
Is there a deeper meaning behind the shapes of the cloud or am I just overthinking?
So good
Sad to think about that the Jinn in Mirage possessed Basim in the end actually
Nah this is what many people get wrong. Basim is not being posessed but rather he is remembering memories from a past life. Loki is not a concious entity that takes over. In a way Basim IS Loki he just forgot and later he remembers and accepts it.
It’s funny to think that he’s speaking to that same man and yet he doesn’t realise it, say what you will about ac and it’s isu lore (I mean odyssey was a shit show for its story) but these kinda moments are what I love for, it’s just a shame eivor never realised what Basim was, unless Odin told her that is
The story of assassins creed Valhalla wasn’t ‘BAD’ but is was severely hurt by how big and stretched thin the game was, if the game was a bit smaller, and more focused on story, it wouldn’t have been so boring.
I'm not gonna lie Basim's story is similar to bayeks but different bayek lost his son when falevius made bayek kill khemu while basim lost his son because someone he trusted betrayed him bayek and basim have something in common they both lost their ring fingers and they both lost their sons but to different people
Nah basim didn't lose his finger it was a ceremony every hidden one had to go through to become one because bayek was one of the first hidden one's that's why the game was named AC origins and all the hidden one's cut their finger following bayek's path. Watch Mirage to know the real story
Basim himself never had a son, it was Loki
That's actually loki lol
Everyone is right about basim being loki lol
My bad since now I'm playing ac mirage I sort of forgot about basim being loki my bad
Why basim is so similar to aleksios? He even have almost the same voice and mannerism.
He was talking about fenrir... All he wants is to be with his beloved son again... Does that mean there also fenrir reincarnation somewhere
Maybe that boy fenrir will be the future main protagonist assassin that will stop the solar flare
Unfortunately no. Fenrir was killed by Odin as a first measure to stop ragnarok. But ragnarok came anyway. Alethia uploaded her consciousness into the staff of Hermes while odin and his family used Yigdrisl (butchering the spelling sorry). Hell Basim/Loki only allowed his consciousness to survive by sneaking in and stealing the spot.
@@mattvisconti8456didn't alethia say that their children survived
Ubisoft had put a lot of effort in this game.
Basim is 8 years older which means that AC Mirage starts just when Eivor parents get killed. Both games start at the same time kinda
This was why basim was traumatized by the jinni and hated eivor. Not because he was thrown in a cold dark cell... Odin kills Loki's child but they never show how in the Isu world. They could have with Mirage but flipped the goddamn script completely. They didn't even mention Odin killing Loki's son in Mirage. Now watch them completely ditch basim and move on to a completely different assassin, along with the lore moving in a completely random and stupid direction. I mean... what even happened to Juno and Minerva. like wtf :'D
Bro what are you even talking about?😂 Loki son is the wolf fenrir that you had to fight in Midgard as oldin. It’s literally from the real norse mythology story😂. This is why you ac fans are straight up clueless clowns who doesn’t even know what your talking about but quick to cry and complain about Ubisoft. Maybe get a brain😂
Some of the lore is in the novels
Juno was killed off in a comic
He is still the main protagonist in present day.. AND Basim never says "killed", he says "taken away", which is exactly what you saw in Valhalla after Odin's fight with Fenrir. Once he's imprisoned it's assumed he/it remains there until the end of their world so he dies then, along with everyone and cannot be reincarnated. It's not that they flipped the script, it's just that you didn't pay attention and try to blame it on them. The lore is not random at all. The discs from Mirage are also the exact ones Altair finds and protects and then Ezio after him in Revelations. The games have continuity. You are just hating for the sake of it. PS: The part with Juno and Minerva is indeed still annoying, I give you that.
@@terofritosame I agree I noticed the discs too og fans know fr. Revelations dives deeper into the discs. Loved that they brought that back as a way of letting us know they are still trying to stick with the story in a way. I appreciate them bringing the discs back

Maybe just a theory, but could this actually be Loki talking to Odin about the death of his son Fenrir? As far as we know, Basim never had a son (although it could have happened between Mirage and Valhalla), but we do know that Fenrir is the son of Loki who just so happens to be Basim. We also know that Odin (Eivor) kills Fenrir because we actually do it ourselves during the Asgard Arc. Maybe I’m tripping, but I don’t think Basim is the one talking in this scene
