I would love to see Juju come back to KC if it’s a team friendly deal. He knows the offense and Mahomes clearly trusts him. Creed is an absolute must to extend.
What I'm concerned though are rumors about his knee, which I heard saying that his knee is a mess and it was ultimately why he fell off the table in New England on top of the mess there. Though, I believe it would be spotted in physical.
The chiefs will keep creed Humphrey. I wouldn't though. Not because Creed isn't great, but because an individual center or O lineman doesn't have enough impact on the game when it comes to wins & losses.. its easier to cycle in O-lineman than it is, skill players.
I don’t agree the offensive line is the most important position on this team point blank. We can never allow what happened against the buccaneers to happen again.
Darn Twitter knuckleheads listen up. In Chiefs Kingdom we dont beat down guys who leave to get that bag, that's why they're in the NFL. But we do appreciate what they did for the Chiefs eternally. Lot of guys l🎉eft that I hated to lose but never hated the player, just the loss. Berry, Gonzales, Smith, to name a few but they're Chiefs Kingdom forever. Side note, keep Bolton for sufe.
If he’s knee got cleared by Chiefs med staff I wouldn’t hate it. I don’t think it’s crucial he returns or anything but it definitely makes the room better (if he’s healthy).
What stats often don't show is football IQ - specifically, the ability to get the D into the right sets. Both Tranquill and Bolton are exceptional at setting up and executing whatever Spags calls. 🤞we can keep both.
Veach is a genius!!! He will figure out is what is best for our team!!! Tough decisions for him but in Veach we trust!!! GO CHIEFS!!! 3 peat time !!!!!
Chiefs can not afford to lose Bolton. Since we drafted him, he has been a leader in the defense, and the defense just keeps getting better. He is a huge part of why our defense is where it is.
Gay is the better athlete, there's no denying that. But Tranquill has a much higher football IQ. He reads keys, knows routes and has instincts WG may never develop. When Drue is in on a tackle or makes a play, it;s because either he followed the defense's scheme and is where he's supposed to be, or he anticipated the play by his instincts. WG is often out of position or doesn't drop to the proper depth in zone. He relies on his athleticism to get him back INTO the play. What happens to that approach when he (WG) loses some of that speed?... he becomes nearly useless. That's why keeping Tranquill was the right choice!
Chiefs have an opportunity to achieve Immortality with a 3 peat To do something no team in the Modern NFL has ever done I feel like Andy Kelce and Pat are all about that life They are all about Legacy and being the Greatest to ever play the game I say do whatever we have too Give up whatever we have to give up to get that 3 peat Achieving Greatness is what Pats all about Achieving Greatness makes your name echo across Time
I really like Bolton. Hope he gets to stay. The Tranquil argument is a solid one though. Idk Nick Bolton is always close to the ball like he has a sixth sense, and he makes a hell of a lot of tackles 🔥
Can't pay everyone. Pay Humphrey, and then make a decision as to who is more important between T. Smith and Bolton. I would count T. Smith as more important, but everyone has a budget. My guess is they let Bolton walk if he wants top of market money, keep Smith, and release Thuney. I would be concerned if they let both of their guards go - and Thuney's cap hit without a rework (if it's even possible at this point) makes him budget non-friendly. Pay Butker. He's in his peak, and at least the 2nd best kicker in the NFL right now. I wouldn't trade for either Lockett or JJSS, but if JJSS gets released, keep him on speed dial in case the Rice case gets adjudicated sooner than I think and a suspension comes down. Reid, Brown, Omenihu ... let their '24 play guide that decision.
I think Bolton comes in around $11-13m a year to stay in KC. He loves KC and he's been in Missouri for a long time now. From what I know of him, he's not going to fight over a couple million if it means staying in KC. If he gets $15m+ from another team, he'll have to consider taking that type of money though. He strikes me as the guy that is more practical. He can be happy at home and winning in KC or he can chase money and potentially land with a bad team or a bad system. He works in Spags' system so well and Spags has made him who he is in the NFL.
Creed is a no brainer. And really hope we can keep Bolton. He always has a nose for where the ball is. Always tough 4 years down the road when you hit on all your picks
Humphrey is in that top 3 or better, for sure. He needs to work on his shotgun snap, it is constantly low.... I wouldn't worry about paying smith, we have options.... Would love to see the Chiefs keep Bolton and see him and Tranquill play at the same time... they could feed off each other and be quite dangerous...I thought Bolton played well upon his return, even with a hard cast on his wrist...Buit, as you said, if they can't keep Bolton, Tranquill can step in to the MIKE spot with no problem.
My must keep is you cole!!! Bro, hustling during this slow time keeping us with content!!! Letsss goooooi..... Oh I am also in board with the three guys you listed as my top keeps
I want to keep and pay everybody if they win 3 in a row. One of the things I've liked is just how many good dudes we have had lately. Draft picks to Journeymen, we've been lucky to have some great people rock the red and gold. Doesn't matter if they are no longer in K.C., I appreciate everything they did for the Kingdom.
Receivers that come to KC gotta be realistic too.. you won’t get huge numbers!! Pat is going to throw the ball to whoever is open and Kelce is WR1 lol so just saying!!
Cole i agree with you N.Bolton is a must sign unless Brett Veach and company feel they can draft another potential LB. That will only means Coach Spag will have to retrain another prototype LB. Meaning Arrowhead will need to be patient for another 2 years. And the rest of us will have to re-live the "fire spag" once more. 🤢
Pacheco is a must keep. He is the energy guy. He is a top 12 RB. You know he will bring it every game. I know RBs don’t age well but he deserves a second contract with KC. Not top of the market deal but he definitely needs to stay.
He had knee problems before he even left Pittsburgh. Every week of the 2022 season, I was praying that his knees would be able to hold through the playoffs.
-Creed is a must. He's the best in the League, no brainer. -Trey, only if its around 10-12mil a year. He's not good in pass pro and he's good not great at run blocking (which we don't do enough of anyway). Its really just about the importance of O-Line play that he's even in the conversation right now, not a great player but quality starter I suppose. -Bolton really depends on what he wants. If its top of the market then no, but something 15mil avg, I can see it. He's getting better in Pass Protect but his speed isn't great so his ceiling is limited there. Otherwise he's a standup guy and good leader. -McDuffie next year will probably be a must and that's going to be pricey but if he replicates last year then its fairly obvious, can we afford it? idk. -George it really depends. He's getting better and doing all the right things, it just comes down to how good is he? Right now when teams look at our D-Line they say "we gotta block 95" and I don't think they say that about George yet. DE money is pricey so it all depends on how much of a jump he makes this year.
When they asked Spags who the smartest MOST IMPORTANT piece of the defense was, he said without a doubt it's Nick Bolton. He said that he is the Patrick Mahomes of the defense not only bc of his physical talent, but even more so for his mental talent. Spags says he can read an offense and see into the future better than he can a lot of times. He said that 60% of the defenses they run are Nick Bolton's ideas. So they're gonna fight to keep him, I think. Im surprised you didn't see that interview??
Drue Tranquill will be 29 before the start of the season… I feel like you gotta pay Bolton… The drop-off between above average linebackers and average is MASSIVE… Pay Bolton after this year. Let Trey go because there’s a lot more capable guards out there who can give similar production to him…
Well, I would say this. I don't really believe that the wr room was so stacked. I think that no one really separated them self as a number one and two wr. Let's be honest. Bad route running and drops rates our WR room as pretty low. So the fact that RJ did not secure one, two or three isn't really good. Nick Bolton: That assessment is based on last year when Drue was able to step in. You do not have that anymore because Drue will already be on the field. Now, he may slide over and play that role, but with Gay gone, Nick's value actually went up. IMO. The only exception would be an UDFA surprises everyone. I say this is a must keep.
Gotta try and lock up a large part of that 22 draft class if we can. I don’t see us keeping more than one between Bolton, Creed, and Trey. Reid and Charles are also more than likely heading to other teams. Next rebuild is going to happen again real soon.
According to the "internet", the 2025 cap will run up to about 274M or a little less. Not as big a jump as 23-24 but hey, for another 19M I can detail my Bentley. These LB's and other line players are important and I think we're in good shape but all other teams being equal, we could use the money. We are a ways down the roster as most teams do have more available cap space but a few do have less as well. Spend that moo-lah but do it wisely.
We cant keep it all. The window for a SB with this group close this season. Next season we have to make plenty of moves. Then we could have more room without kelce and CJ95
I also won't be sifting through game footage, even if I were qualified to do so, to evaluate whether Richie James was getting open more than implied by targets. However, spanning his 5-year career, James has produced over 10 yards for every pass thrown his direction. Only 12 wide receivers with 50 or more targets accomplished that feat during the 2023 regular season and the list is a veritable who’s who of top receivers. I don’t know how meaningful that might be but it’s at least interesting.
The downside of drafting well the past few years. You can't keep them all. If I had to guess Veach wants to keep that middle O-Line as intact as he can. Bolton will probably be a casualty of that unless he takes a team friendly deal to stick around all this winning.
Creed and Butker are getting the bag. I think Bolton and Trey are going to come down to what they are asking for as well as what their markets are looking like. Dru and the IOL guys we drafted are insurance/leverage in the negotiations with them. J. Reid is an interesting case as hes played up to his current contract, wouldn't mind him coming back on pretty much the same deal. Doubtful that Hollywood resigns after the years hes about to have. CO is going to be interesting because hes only going to have half a season. McDuffie will be more expensive than GK (though that could change if GK improves even further) though I don't think it will be by that much which means I think only one of them will sign a second contract with the Chiefs. The other 3 corners (Williams, Watson, and Johnson) I think all could be back and for cheap too. Cook could price himself out of KC but the Chiefs could turn to him with J. Reid's contract being up and rolling with Chamari and Hicks as the other safeties and drafting a 4th (or promoting Bush to that spot). Pacheo is another case of what hes asking for/market. I'd be shocked if Skyy got a second contract unless he defies the odds and becomes a reliable WR and then it'll only be a 1 year "prove it wasn't a fluke" contract.
??cole could you do a video talking about Clyde, and about how many players have been in his situation. With a positive spin if he has a great season with pacheco, I'm curious on the likelyhood
They better find away to keep all 2022 draft class like I can't see Pacheco in another uniform 😢 or Bolton or Karl we got to figure it out use a tag on one of them if we got too mcduffie deserves all his money 💰 dam😢
I’d like KC to keep Humphrey and Bolton at all cost. Trey Smith might be too pricey. After them I’d like to keep Hollywood if he balls out and doesn’t go into diva mode and want Chiefs-A-Holic type money next year. Gotta keep Pacheco and McDuffie. Pacheco will probably sign a team friendly deal. He seems to really like KC and McDuffie will set the bar for CB when he signs his deal. Omenihu will probably get a team friendly offer given his injuries and I think he will take it as the team hasn’t given up on him. I just hope he doesn’t turn into an Eric Berry.
Juju would be just right to mix in with the two new speedsters. A stabilizing influence on the WR room. Sky Moore might make reasonable trade bait, but the Chiefs would have to give up a draft pick to get someone to take Kadarius T.
I would agree with creed then smith then Bolton on those 3. Obvious money does make a difference between it if Bolton doesn’t want the bag it would be nice to keep him also
I think the Chiefs will be able to negotiate a team-friendly deal with Bolton. Tranquill just signed for ~$6 mil a year so I'd be surprised if Bolton asks for more than $10 mil a year when his recent stats do not exceed Tranquill's. If Bolton does leave though, I'd like for us to re-sign Gay. His Saints contract is only for 1 year and I doubt they'd be able to outbid us with their massive cap constraints.
No way the Chiefs give up a draft pick and have to rework his contract for JuJu. JuJu is getting cut later. The Pats drafted two WR's this past draft and I don't think they hold onto JuJu.
With $15m in cap space right now we can afford to make some moves. I could see one of the three signing a front heavy extension before the season that eats into that available cap we have now to give some flexibility in the future. Ie Smith signs an extension for 3 years $54m averaging out to $18m/year, but work it in a way that gives him $10m this season in additions to his $3.4m he's getting making the yearly hit for the next three $44m or $14.7m/year. Numbers are for example and not a proposal of his value.
Juju is only coming back if Rice is suspended this year. Rice plays the same role on the field and we've already got too many WRs the way it is. That said, Lockett would be a great get if the financials are right. We're not going to overpay in trade to get him and have to pay him a lot of money. We'd also be looking to drop 1 or 2 other WRs already on the team to make room. Would he be a good upgrade and fit? Absolutely. Does it feel like a Veach move to get him? Not at all.
Juju should have never left the chiefs, he left for money, could have gotten paid here really. Id let sky go , probably remiggio. Bolton is always needed, in the big games he shows up.
I wouldn’t pay Bolton or Smith that much money. I mean the Chiefs track record in the draft affords them the luxury of moving on. Remember both those positions are usually mid round picks not big money first day picks!
We better keep bolt wtf hell nah, we gotta keep one of our key pieces in the defense we already got rid of sneed n gay idc what people say some will say bolt ain’t a key piece well to me he is the man gets tackles, picks and good at coverage
You forgot Harrison Butker. He’s a must keep. If he’s not one of the Best in Football clutch kickers? Who is? If we’re just talking drafted free agents? Okay, but I do think Kansas City wants to bring back Noah Grey. I agree that Creed Humphrey is #1, I want to keep big nasty Trey Smith. But he has been a gift in the 6th Round and he needs paid for his family. He makes the least money out of any of the Chiefs Offensive Starters and maybe any Starters. We can’t afford to keep him at the price he will demand. He’s not great against the pass, but very good; and he is a wrecking ball in the run game. So then comes Nick Bolton. The former Mizzou Tiger I would love to keep; and he might be able to demand big money. But he’s not indestructible like many Mike Linebackers. So that’s going to drive down his price and KC has done extremely well in picking up very strong middle linebackers after the draft. Oh they aren’t Nick Bolton. But we are going to strengthen the Defensive Line over the next season. So the Mike Linebackers will have more downhill movements to stuff and plug than Nick has had. I see Bolton getting paid to much elsewhere. If KC can avoid using the Tag on someone else. They very well could do with Bolton or Trey Smith what they did with L’Jarius Sneed this season but with more demand for them possibly. Sneed’s draft capital demands were reduced so to the Chiefs necessity. That won’t be the case this time around. Brent Veech has positioned himself to do some possible sign and trades ahead of the 2025 Draft as well. Thanks
McDuffie, Reid, Karlaftis, Humphrey, Pacheco, Chenal No. 5 🤣, Bolton. This is what happens when you draft them cheap and you are so good at making them the best player in their position then they get priced out because you made them too good. LOLLL.
Edit - there was a technical error upon exporting that wasn’t there on the final watch through. Sorry about the red missing files 😔 😂

Depends on the money involved. If you look at the stats for the games he missed, the defense actually did better with Tranquill in his place.

Next season we have to make plenty of moves.
Then we could have more room without kelce and CJ95
Great video Cole! Thanks for the update
Juju would be a great addition.
Extend those 3.
O line is a priority.
For me must keep would be: Humphrey and McDuffy
I totally agree with the priority of (1) Creed, (2) Smith and (3) Bolton. The Chiefs will find a way to make this happen!
Obvious money does make a difference between it if Bolton doesn’t want the bag it would be nice to keep him also
Chiefs were ahead of the league in grading guards as a high price position.
Dude, where did you get that shirt? Freaking awesome!!!!!!
That song by boyz 2 men, "it's so hard to say goodbye," is going to be ringing bigtime next year....
Several from the 2022 draft class will be gone. In Veach we trust.
I’m hoping Hollywood Brown balls out but likes playing in KC enough to wanna take a team friendly multi year deal after winning his first ring with KC
Cole you are a dawg
They won’t pay Bolton. Him and Tranquil are pretty much interchangeable and they already paid him
Remember the patriots had a 10 year gap between there third and fourth Super Bowls
Not at all.
I adore Ju-ju 🎉 I'd welcome him back with open arms !
Is there a way to just keep everybody 😅😅
Honestly with Tranquill I'd rather let Bolton walk and spend a premium draft pick on a LB
Ka'darius Toney i know he did not have the best season last year but he will this year
I want Richie back with KC!! I don’t think he got a lot of opportunities tbh.. I think he is a good player
It seems that anyone we get from the giants, is a bust 😢
Been a bummer lol
When you draft well and start winning, guys leave. It's the way it goes people
KC baby since 93!
Injuries derailed his role with the WR room
Ever since the superbowl I've been non stop looking at the money situation and we have to lose alot of good players as usual
Juju should have never left the chiefs, he left for money, could have gotten paid here really.
Id let sky go , probably remiggio.
Bolton is always needed, in the big games he shows up.
Omen need to keep he is a beast
I wouldn’t pay Bolton or Smith that much money. I mean the Chiefs track record in the draft affords them the luxury of moving on. Remember both those positions are usually mid round picks not big money first day picks!
I’m not mad at giving Bolton a well deserved contract he is the qb of the defense we should keep him at all cost
@@Z_Rodriguez13the offensive line is the most important part of this team. If the tackles aren’t good we have to have a great interior.
Bolton is the glue of the defense. No question.
@@boatsanhs9709Who did fine with tranquil running things. He is good but definitely not the top priority to sign
We better keep bolt wtf hell nah, we gotta keep one of our key pieces in the defense we already got rid of sneed n gay idc what people say some will say bolt ain’t a key piece well to me he is the man gets tackles, picks and good at coverage
Must keep order for me is
Mahomes
Kelce
Andy Reid
Lol na I just playing
Creed
Trey
Trent
Pacheco
Karlaftis
Creed needs to shore up his snaps. Mahomes does a great job bailing him out, but bad snaps cost Mahomes post snap read times.
He really does make alot of bad snaps.
Thanks
*Brett Veach
McDuffie, Reid, Karlaftis, Humphrey, Pacheco, Chenal No. 5 🤣, Bolton. This is what happens when you draft them cheap and you are so good at making them the best player in their position then they get priced out because you made them too good. LOLLL.
We need Bolton
Nick Bolton not as important? What are you a KU fan??
Richie james needs to just be happy he finally won a suoerbowl
