I mean, Germany was actually a pretty damn good Big 5 member in the past decade. The BEST in 2010, the 2nd best in 2011, the BEST in 2012, the 3rd best in 2013, the 3rd best in 2014, the worst in 2015 (but literally only 5 points away from being the 3rd best, lol), the worst again in 2016, the 4th in 2017, the BEST in 2018, and the 4th in 2019. So, Germany was in fact the best Big 5 member 3 out of 10 times, while being the worst only 2 out of 10 times. Mathematically speaking, Germany is well above average here, certainly doing better than the UK, France and Spain.
This really is a bop and it's good to know, that Ben is able to deliver vocally. Not only did he prove it as The Voice of Germany 2018 contestant, when he finished second, but also with the acoustic version of his entry, which he sang at the official presentation show. Fun Fact: Ben and Alessandro Rütten ("Sandro"), who is representing Cyprus this year, both were contestants of The Voice of Germany 2018.
we know so many of The Voice contestants who sounded good while doing covers but ultimately failed at the biggest stage (plus too many rehearsals got their vocals really strained).
I'm so happy with our entry this time! I have faith in the staging, largely because Justin Timberlake's staging director will be doing the staging. A top 15 finish is definitely possible!

@@bigmass4792 the voices of the so called "Sisters" didn't even match. They screamed the song more than singing it. They weren't even sisters. It wasn't authentic. The lyrics were fine though but the rest? Awful. But Violent Thing is a hit. I hope it goes well for us this year.

Finally a good Germany entrance since Sattelite!! Really like this. I find all the entries until now a bit weak. Except for Italy, love that ballad and now Germany. It might be still a good year, depends on what's songs are going to be dropped next by the remaining countries.

I was at work yesterday listening to a 2020 Eurovision playlist at work. When this came on I thought Spotify rolled over to a new playlist. I didn’t care because I was toe tapping and moving while working. Then I looked and found out this was Germany’s entry and was impressed! I’m loving it. It will be dependent on how they stage it for sure- but they have it in them. I’m just going to pretend Sisters was a momentary lapse in judgement 🤪

About 5 measures into this song, I just fell in love with it, which is saying a lot since I don't remember the last time there was a dance song I even can say I really liked. I'm just not that crazy about that genre. The production is incredible, which is understandable seeing that it was done by Symphonix. His voice is so on point; he doesn't miss a beat. I love the guitar riff in it. This is in my Top 5, which really says a lot about the song since I am a HUGE ballad fan, and there are so many amazing ballads this year. This song DEFINITELY took me by surprise as well. This is one song I am SO disappointed we won't get to see performed live on the big stage.

It's not like Germany doesn't have great musicians, they just don't want to potentially ruin their career by failing in the ESC... Oh and this year they didn't let a TV audience vote for our song because last year it ended in a disaster 😆
Big fan of this song, super super catchy, loving the vocal too. I'm getting Benjamin Ingrosso vibes but in the best way possible. Can't picture what they'll do with it on stage, but they better not mess it up, it's too good to place low.
Mostly agree, what gives me some pause is the fact that music mighty Germany now choose ( or worse had to choose) a great Bulgarian producer and a uniquely voiced Slovene performer to come up with a piece that has top ten potential. Micheal schulte in 18 was an exception due to personal tragedy but otherwise eighty million + Germany ESC entries sucked after Lena.

Aly Ryan's performance was terrible. Maybe she does otherwise better, but I never understood the whining about her not winning.
