  • Thank you for watching this week’s video! If you’re new here, welcome! I’m Victoria-a mom to a toddler and baby boy, wife to an amazing husband battling colon cancer, and a third-grade teacher in Maine. Here on my channel, I share my journey of balancing motherhood, teaching, and everything in between.
In today’s video, I’m taking you along as I tackle a major grading backlog-all during contract hours! If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by grading, you’re not alone. Comment below with your favorite tips for staying on top of it, and let me know what other videos you’d like to see. Thanks for being here-you’re the best!

Let me know what other videos you'd like to see from me! Whether that be more week in my life vlog-style videos, day in my life in videos, Mom vlogs, Teacher vlogs, or lifestyle vlogs in Maine. In teacher vlogs let me know if you’d like specific topics to be discussed like math stations, reading stations, writing instruction, science of reading, morning meeting, classroom management, classroom organization, student teaching tips, new teacher tips, etc. With motherhood let me know if you’d like to see more routine videos, one year old activities, day in the life with a toddler, what my toddler eats in a day, etc. Let me know if you'd like to see more finance videos on budgeting, saving on a teacher salary! Or more videos of me trying new things for a week, whether that be new skills or habits.I also love minimalism, and slow living videos as well! Thanks for any feedback

Glad you are back! Can you share what a target ticket looks like? Especially for Reading/Writing?

You’re so sweet, happy to be back!! Yes!! I will share in one of my next videos, which will work great because we have a reading assessment coming up in a few weeks. I did share a peek into our writing target tracker / rubric at the end of the video in case you missed that!

My brain can go to mush when my students are at lunch or Specials, so it’s hard for me to grade during prep. I have noticed grading in a different room other than my classroom helps because there are less distractions.✏️

That’s a great tip!! I can definitely see how grading in a space where you’re not likely to get swept up in the other things on your to do lists would be helpful!!
