RULES FOR YarnWithHeart DRAWS:
• In June, this channel reached a milestone. Over 300 subscribers!! Throughout July, you can enter for a chance to win some yarn-y goodies.
• And on July 25th, I will spin the wheel, to pick winners…
• During my 11 videos, each of you can have chances to enter your names on two Wheels of Names, if you would like… One of the wheels is a wooly gift and one wheel of names is a non-wool one.
• Feel free to use both secret words, if you would like a chance at each prize…
• Watch my videos each day to see how to enter your name, as the secret words will be different on each video. As soon as I see your comment with the secret word, I will add your name and the date on the wheel.
• All items in the prizes have been purchased by me.
• I will pay shipping anywhere in the world to get the item to the winner
• The winner will be responsible for any duty, taxes or extra charges beyond that.
• The draw is open to anyone age 18 or older.
• You Tube has nothing to do with this give away.
*** As of July 5th, I am making a slight change (to information given during July 3rd video). You can use both secret words in one comment, if you would like to be entered in both draws. Or you can use one secret word in that comment, if you want to be entered in only one draw. I am still new to having draws, and thought that asking for 2 comments would be necessary for me to keep track of it all…
*** Note that you can do either one or two comments as long as I see you use secret words on each video, I will know which wheel of names to add you to… I hope that is ok with everyone and very sorry for changing things up like that. Just trying to make things easier on all of you….

Thank you Cathy. Love the way you and Diane are doing Christmas in July. The colors of the wool pack are beautiful.
This is my first Christmas In July. I am having so much fun... I am happy that you like the colours in the wool pack. There will be more offered in the draw, so please do keep watching...
Hello Cathy, what a great idea- Christmas in July, looking forward to watching you and Diane. I love wool yarn like Diane, but summer and cotton sounds good too. Wishing you amazing July full of surprises ❤
Thank you so much for watching! It has been such fun and I'm looking forward to Diane's video tomorrow... and wondering if she will have another recipe? (Truthfully, I've forgotten what's in some of her packages, so I'll be as surprised as everyone else LOL)
I love Christmas in July. I love cotton and bamboo yarn.
This is my first Christmas in July... And I think that I love it too!
I also use cotton, more of a cotton acrylic blend for some of my market makes. You are not alone with an issue with wool. Merry Christmas in July 🎄
Cotton acrylic is so nice for 3, and sometimes 4 seasons! I hope that your markets go well this year :-)
We used to make paper snowflakes,we could crochet some out of ‘wool’. Happy Holidays😊
Great idea to crochet snowflakes. They would make pretty ornaments!
Hi Cathy, your voice is so cute. I have come over from Diane's channel. I do love wool.
Welcome! Thank you so much.... :-)
So much fun! I found you through My Pink Bathtub Knits and I'm so glad I did. I am addicted to wool buying; love those minis! Looking forward to all the videos! - Heather from Nova Scotia
Thank you for commenting & warm welcome! Occasionally I buy wool, and sometimes wool shows up in mystery boxes. And sometimes other kinds of yarn just "show up in my cart" LOL
really appreciate your videos - lovely personality
Thank you so much. It is such a joy to see your comments each week. And I'm so happy you are here.
Hi Cathy! I am enjoying yours and Diane's videos this month. How sweet to offer two prizes one non wool and wool. Thank you! And congrats on your channel growth!
Thank you so much Christine! I've been watching your videos also and love everything happening there for you too.
Came here from Diane’s channel to see what you got for Christmas in July !!! Soo so exciting
I'm very happy that you're here. Warm welcome! You are so right... it is very exciting!
I also love cotton. Looking forward to watching your Christmas in July videos ❤
I love cotton too. (I never knew that July could be this much fun! I am so happy that Diane invited me to do Christmas in July with her.)
Congratulations on reaching your milestone. I like both wool and cotton
Thank you so very much. :-)
Congratulations on surpassing 300 subscribers! I like to use both wool and cotton yarn.
Thank you so much. And a very warm welcome to you :-)
Both wool and cotton yarns are lovely to work with! The mini skeins are very pretty.
Thank you very much. I'm happy that you thought they are pretty yarns.
Lovely wool! What a fun podcast series!
I'm so happy that you are enjoying the podcast series. See you at the next one!
Christmas in July! What fun. I love the colours of the wool minis. I like cotton yarns for summer knitting.
Hello and thank you for commenting. You are right... those minis by BaaRealis are a pretty item in the wool box/gift!
Love the idea of your gift exchange with Diane. I love wool yarn!
This gift exchange has been so fun. I'm very grateful that Diane thought of the idea and asked me to join in.
Hi Cathy, making paper snowflakes is fun and they make a wonderful garland. I enjoyed Diane's video also. Christmas in July is fun, there are so many different crafters doing fun things especially with wool!!!
Hi Donna! Thank you for your comment and so happy you are here. Garland is a great idea!
The wool package is a beautiful selection of colors. Makes me think of icy winter vibes!
The aqua colours are some of my favorites. And are definitely very wintery.
New to you. Congratulations on your growing subscriber list! I can’t believe you waited so patiently to open. I’m like Diane, get very excited to open a gift. I am like Diane in the I love wool club as well. This is fun!
Thank you so much for being here!... It was sooo hard to wait until July (to open the gifts). When I was a girl, I was the "present shaker and squeezer" of the family, trying to guess what was in each one. My parents knew not to wrap anything glass for me. LOL
Hi Cathty, looking forward to watching you and Diane for Christmas in July ❤❤ I Love Wool and Cotton yarns to knit with 😅
Hi Alice, So happy that you are here! I am looking forward to watching Diane's videos too, as she is such a bright light and such a joy. (Also, I have forgotten some of what I wrapped for her, and I will be as surprised as she is for some of them LOL)
Hi, The wool is lovely, it makes me get out my knitting and start a new project.
I fell in love with the beautiful colours and the name of that yarn... As soon as I saw cookie in the name LOL
Hello Cathy. I found you by watching Diane’s podcast. I will be watching your non-wool podcast and Diane’s wool podcast throughout July. I am excited to join the two of you.
I am very happy that you will be watching Diane and I... Warm welcome :-)
Congratulations on your subscriber milestone. I like to use cotton for dishcloths.
Thank you so very much for congratulating the channel.
And thank you for joining the Christmas In July!
Love both wool and cotton yarns
Thank you so much for your comment. They are both wonderful fibres. :-)
Christmas in July!! I love the advent with Diane! I love the wool colors. So pretty!
I love cotton as well. I use more cotton than wool as I use it in a lot of different projects, not just kitchen items!
I would love to experiment with using cotton in more things! There is much about that I can learn from you. :-)
Hello Cathy, nice to find you! I am working with both wool and cotton. I am knitting some wool socks and a cotton tee right now.
Welcome and so happy you found the channel! Wonderful that you are knitting socks and a top. I am building up my knitting skills and would like to try those someday.
I love the idea of Christmas in July videos! My favourite projects are knit with wool, or wool blends. I always have several pairs of socks in progress 😊
Wonderful that you are making socks... I am slowly getting used to working with finer yarn. Maybe someday I will be able to work with sock weight yarns.
Great concept for Christmas in July vlogs. Just found you today! Wool!
Warm welcome! I am so happy that you found me. And you might enjoy popping over to watch Diane's videos also.
Hi Cathy
Cotton is great for making pot holders
Wool yarn is good for hats Wool keeps you warmer
I agree about cotton making lovely pot holders. And wool and acrylic are wonderful for the winter. (I look forward to sweater weather, as I am not really one for these high temperatures. The heat really bothers me.)
One of my earliest memories is being told not to touch the powerlines in winter. All part of being Canadian, eh? 😁I've used cotton yarn for dishcloths but am hoping to make a summer top one of these days. - Heather from Nova Scotia
Hello, fellow Canadian! I hope you had a Happy Canada Day.... We are such a hardy bunch, but powerlines are for no one to mess with. LOL (Cotton summer top sounds like a great idea. I made one out of bamboo, and don't know what I did wrong but it stretched. So I wear it belted now...)
Hi Cathy. I found your channel through Diane’s channel. I love that you all are doing Christmas in July together. I just pre-ordered a Christmas advent calendar from Aberdeen Wool Company. It’s my first one and I’m super excited because I love working with wool yarn. Thanks for the fun chat.
Congratulations on your Aberdeen Wool advent calendar! That is so exciting!
really kind of you to give two gifts! cotton is a fun fiber to work with
You are so right about cotton. It can be a joy to work with... That one and acrylic really are my go-to fibers.
I love the story about the snow drifts. Growing up in Southern California, my Mom never had an occasion to tell us to stay off of the garage roof. LOL I've recently gotten back to a cotton scrapghan I'd had to put on hold for several months. I'm happy to be getting closer to actually finishing it now.
When I was young, we visited cousins in Fresno. (Not sure if that counts as Southern California), but I remember loving it there and how beautiful it was as we drove from Ontario to the area! They wanted me to stay in California -- and I was all for staying, but my mom said no way, and it was back to snowy Ontario for me LOL
Hi Cathy! Found you through Diane. That wool you should use was lovely!
Warm welcome and happy that you are here! Thank you so much for commenting.
Hi Cathy, I love watching the Christmas in July videos. I am a wool lover like Diane!
I'm so happy that you are enjoying the videos. See you on July 5th :-)
Cotton yarn is great for summer.
I work with a lot of cotton... and acrylic. And enjoy looking at wool.
I love the color of the wool yarn.
Aqua colour is one of my favorites too. :-)
It is so nice of you to offer a wool option especially with your wool allergy.
I am so happy to share. And to have draws for something that both "wool yarn-ies" and "non-wool yarn-ies" might like.
Hi Cathy, I found you from Diane's channel. I knit, crochet and macrame.
I like wool and cotton yarn, now retired I am crocheting a 40" round baby blanket. 🤗🧶
Very warm welcome! I would love to hear about your baby blanket... Round ones are such a pretty shape :-)
Round baby blanket is a Herrschners kit, called: "Bewildered Baby Blanket"
Wow, your blanket is going to be sooo gorgeous! (I looked on Ravelry and saw someone had a few pics of it.) Love that blanket so much!
Wool 😂. First time viewing, great pod case!
Hi Marcia! I am happy you are here. Warm welcome to you :-)
The wool minis are beautiful. Trying to keep up with your videos. Iv been crazy busy this week at my mother in law’s house.
Hi Rosanna, I've been thinking of you and your husband... and hoping everyone will take good care... as it has been so very hot this week.
Congrats on your milestone! 🎉 I'm enjoying watching your gift exchange with Diane. That's a lovely wool mini set. Excited to see what cotton comes up in your next video. Thank you for the story. I've never seen snow drifts that deep or tall.
Thank you so much (about the milestone). About the snow... Where we lived, it always got so much snow when I was young. And we lived on a road that didn't get plowed early. It meant a lot of drifting snow and many days without school. Sometimes weeks without power. To a child these were big adventures and very fun. LOL
@YarnWithHeart I'll take everything except the no power lol that sounds awful. But if you had a pellet drive or something for heat, I imagine that would be great fun.
Wool sweaters keep me warm🧶
You are right. What a great fibre for winter!
Hi! Congratulations on your milestone! I like the Christmas in July exchange with Diane! I have no wool allergies but find it's too hot for working with it in summer time. Cotton is a little more comfortable to work with.
Hi Dimitra! Totally agree! I am not working with worsted weight acrylic right now for the same reason. What a hot summer we're having!
Hi Cathy. Christmas in July is so much fun. I use a lot of cotton for making dishcloths.
You are right, Christmas In July is a lot of fun! So happy Diane invited me. (Dishcloths, interestingly are some of my most requested Christmas gifts. I often add them into a basket with a few small kitchen items and a cake or cookie mix. Surprisingly, people gush over the handmade dishcloth...)
hi.Cathy love to watch your video. the wool give away look amazing
Thank you so very much for the encouragement! I get nervous making the videos sometimes, and am very happy that people enjoy them :-)
Great video cotton!
Thank you so much. I'm happy that you enjoyed it. :-)
I like cotton yarn. I remember us making snow cream
I agree with you Bonnie... I like cotton too!
It get so hot here in Colorado that I am also experimenting with some cotton garment knits as well as linen 😊
I am very curious about how linen would be to work with. I have done one small item with a cotton/linen blend, however it was mostly cotton.
Oh my I’m late to the party but I’ve come across you via Soxy Anna Alice and happy to have done so! Such a generous giftaway - always happy to have more wool! 😘
Very warm welcome! I'm happy that you are here! (I'm late replying because of weekend-computer-problems that Mr. W helped me solve last night... I finally had all well-and-good at midnight.)
There is alot of items that I make using cotton. Hugs!
Hi Debra! Cotton and acrylic are what I reach for too... Hugs to you too :-)
Hello Cathy. Cotton or wool yarn works up great with me as I am not allergic to either one and use both kinds of yarn.
It's great that you can use all kinds of fibres. Wool is wonderful -- especially in the winter, and I regret that I cannot work with it. (Over the years, acrylic has become very soft and easy to use, so I try not to stay too sad. LOL)
My first time knitting with cotton was last year and I was quite happy with the top I made and enjoy wearing it. Enjoyed your little vlog and will try and catch up!
I would like to try making a top with cotton. (I did make one of 100% bamboo, and found it has stretched. I still wear it -- belted.) May I ask your suggestion... Would you suggest making cotton tops a bit shorter, have you found the cotton stretches or did it stay true to original size?
@@YarnWithHeart The top I made was the Solidago. I just knit to length I required and so far it has not stretched! I laid it flat to dry though x
@@lorainelockwood9359 Thank you so much for letting me know. (Solidago is very very pretty 💖Just found an image.) The pattern I used is called The Sweetpea Top. It is cool and comfortable to wear (Maybe I will try making it again... with cotton this time.)
Nice yarn
Thank you so much Sandy!
Hi! I just found your channel! The wool minis are so beautiful!
Warm welcome Debra! Happy that you are here!
Love cotton nice swap.Diane sent me over.
Warm welcome... I'm happy that you are enjoying the event.
Sorry to hear you have issues with wool. There are some beautiful fibers out there.
Thank you for commenting that... I feel sad about it sometimes, and then luckily more & more people are making soft, beautiful cottons, bamboo/rayons and even acrylics. (Occasionally, though I see a hand-dyed wool and get a bit jelly, cause I can only admire it from a distance LOL)
I have not made a paper snowflake in along time. I am more inclined to make wool, or acrylic snowflakes.
Snowflakes are such pretty ornaments... Totally agree with you :-)
I'm here from My Pink Bathtub Knits. Out of curiosity I looked on Ravelry to see if there were any patterns under paper snowflakes but there weren't many. My father used to dig tunnels in the snow for us. I guess they wouldn't be considered safe these days. Do we say wool on the wool days and cotton on the cotton ones or both on both?
Looking on Ravelry for "paper snowflake" is a great idea! Please let me know if you decide to make something with one of the patterns... (Snowtunnels... such happy memories and so much fun!)
That is a great collection of minis from Baarealis but no need to put my name in the draw even though they are sparkle! 😉
Once I saw them up-close, now I completely see why you like stelina. And I have to admit, I fell in love with the name "Looky Looky Christmas Cookie" LOL
I like the feel of marino wool..
You are so right... some of the animal fibers are sooo luscious!
I'm here from My Pink Bathtub Knits. Out of curiosity I looked on Ravelry to see if there were any patterns under paper snowflakes but there weren't many. My father used to dig tunnels in the snow for us. I guess they wouldn't be considered safe these days. Are we supposed to use the word wool on the wool days and cotton on the cotton ones or both on both?
Thank you so much for asking... You can enter twice each day (using both words... one for each draw, if you are interested in each draw). Just a little hint -- the words on each video will be different. So, July 5 words will not be wool & cotton (so I will need to think of two different words by then). Great questions and thank you for asking!
I’ve been using a lot of cotton lately as I have dug out my old cross stitch things and am really loving stitching. Have you ever done cross stitching?
I have not tried cross stitch as yet, but would like to try.
(I have done a bit of embroidery and liked that very much. I am hopeful that cross stitch would be similar?)
Wool and cotton are both are types of yarn I use
Thank you very much for your comment. :-)
Hello, I Love to work with cotton using single crochet.
Absolutely... Do you sometimes use the moss/linen stitch when single crocheting?
@@YarnWithHeart I don't think I ever tried that stitch yet...
I love single crochets too. Very sturdy and it can change looks in different yarns -- variegated, stripes, solids. :-)
Ah I commented previously but didn't write the word wool or cotton ha ha ...so here I've done it finally ⬜🟦🩵🩶
Lovely! Happy to see your comment. :-)
