This was a great song. I never heard of these guys before, so thanks for the intro to their music. I noticed at around 10:30 in the video when they show the bass player, he has an extra set of arms (fake ones) holding the lower part of that dual neck guitar. Hilarious!
Henrik Linder play six string bas. About the bass there, yes the E string has a 2 fret extension to D so the glue vise acts like a capo. The tuner for that string actually sits at the back of the body behind the bridge, and that is actually a Hipshot D-tuner, so the E- string can actually drop down to C
Just saw them live last month (they toured the US for the first time in 10 years... I saw them 10 years ago too!) and Henrik kills this live. They all kill everything live, it blows my face off.
Haha your face at 1:44, Bob 😂🤣😂 that was gold. This is an epic, anthem-style song, and hilarious at the same time. There are a bunch of recent interview with DLoops, one of them on Rich Beato’s TH-cam channel, where Henrik explains stuff about those solos and effects. And I totally agree with your point about them being great improvisers. I’ve never seen them live but from what I’ve heard, in every live concert they improvise as often as they can. Honestly they are the sort of guys who would die of boredom if it had to be the same way twice ;) Those uncanny Henrik splits, his dubious double-necked bass, his fake cigarette stuck to his headstock…they’re such trolls 🥸 I’d love for you to also look at their ‘Songs For Lovers’ series, a collection of four instrumental tracks. They’re all pretty dope and mindblowing, especially “Coffee Break Is Over”. Let us know what you think of that! Cheers, and thanks for a great react 👍👍👍
Thanks fiddlestix! It’s great to hear from you. Man that 1:44 was a totally surprise. Such beasts. I’m not sure if I did that song already. I’ll have to go and see. If not I’ll have to get to it.
@@bobcieslinski yes, you actually already have seen those. “Pink Power” and “Breakdown” might possibly still be missing from your list ;) And THEN there is Loopified, their amazing album from 2014, with a bunch of uncanny and mindblowing songs and covers 🔥💥🔥 Also, they did a version for the 2016 Samsung Galaxy ringtone, also completely mindblowing. And THEN there is all of Jonah’s solo stuff from his album Now Or Never. Every single one of these guys is such a monster musician…. Oh and thanks for taking the time to reply, Bob 🙏
Thanks for your reaction! Yes, you never know what will come next from them 🙂 This was very different from their other songs. Love Henrik’s bass playing! Impressive, crazy and fun 😊
Henrik is sooo good at splits, like 7:58 into your video! You did see that, right, as well as the two extra hands he had on the "double-bass"? They don't shy away from joking around, at their own expense.Like the costume Henrik wares on some of the recent concerts in the USA. It's also a joy to get your reaction! You are of course right in that they are really good improvisers. If you check out videos from their concerts, you will see and hear exactly that, just as you said. They can also have fun with it at times; I assume that is also an effect of their skillset.
i am a lil bit surprised you didnt go into the double key change at the end of the 2nd solo of henrik... which is the most impressive here in this song to me, cuz usually they do only one in some of their songs. but this is a typical dirty loops moment to me: you expect always a lot if knowing them already, but they make it possible to surprise all the time. and the 2nd loopy moment is when they dish out their surprises always with an ironic smile. and its musically pretty ironic to me if musicians doing a key change but only leading you into a trap cuz a few takes later the next key change applies... to be able to write this in a way that it sounds in the end pretty logical is a result of beeing a pure musical genius... .
@@subby111 great comment. As someone put it the other day: Dirty Loops give you Awesome on top of awesome, than some more awesome… Us mere mortals struggle to keep up verbally with what they’re doing 🤣😉🤘
Mr C. If you read this ~ look at the video again and look for Henrik's third and fourth arms and hands, . Look too ant his flexible legs on the 2nd solo. Go well!
I just ran into a new band (for me). Not sure how to classify them, they play metal but move into other genres. Recommend them for a try: Witherfall Nocturnes and Requiems

This was sort of a parody on 80s music, but with a little Taylor Swift thrown in for fun. Check out their "Work shit out" (Bob's reaction to it, of course), to find out that they are more of the stereotypical fusion-jazz-pop-rock-x-y-z one of a kind band band. TBob could phrase it so much better. Dirty Loops are interesting, to say the least. Give them another shot, you likely won't regret it, but who knows?

You're absolutely right - they do the solo parts different when they play live, improvising. And they are just amazing!

Check out Henrik’s fake pair of legs too, at the end of his second solo, doing the splits! Hilarious!! 😂
