I can relate! Part of me wanted to return it just because it looks so overwhelming!! Right now, I’m hooked up, and I’ve got the app downloaded to my iPad and connected to the Cricut. I was following another video, and that went way too fast!!

This video is awesome! Great help :) I just wanted to put out there that I had some issues immediately with my setup. My card stock was tearing and ripping. I looked up some tips and found that you should make sure the smooth side is up. (I'm not sure if it was mentioned in the comments or video). This seemed to be the problem. So if anyone is experiencing the same issue, check your card stock. :)

Thank you so much for such a easy to follow and detailed guide… it’s my mums birthday in two days and I was just flicking through Google trying to find crafting ideas because she loves it when I make things for her. I think hand made gifts are so much more thoughtful. Whilst I was scrolling through I found the cricut machine. I was intrigued and fascinated by it so Looked for a video showing how it works and what it can do, lucky for me I found you. You’ve just taught me everything I wanted to know about it. I’m so grateful there are lovely humans like you who take the time to help people. Seriously your a fantastic person. I want to get one myself, but at the moment they are too expensive for me. I’m sure there’s a previous model which may be cheaper.. if you or anyone else who have kindly taken the time to read my comment (thanks) know of any other machines that are abit cheaper… I’d be ever so grateful, thank you.

I purchased my Maker about 3 weeks ago, and because of unforeseen issues, I had not start it the process to connect the Cricut. I just finish lesson one & did my first cut, I love it!!. It took a couple of start over, for some reason I was not following like your video, but at the end I did it, thank you so much Jennifer, this road is exciting!

Just now got my Maker connected (usb cord) to my laptop, got it recognized all going, even did my test cut. I feel so accomplished and a whole lot less scared now. lol I hate making mistakes because I don't like to feel like I am wasting materials.... I love my JOY... I feel a love coming on for MAKER. ;)

I had skipped Lesson 1 Live because I thought I knew it all since I have had my Maker for 1 month & I had my 14 month old grandson over! ;) Anyway, I am glad I finally watched it because it helped me set up Bluetooth connection. I appreciate you taking the time to teach us newbies!

Hi, thank you for this, it’s good to see you can make short simple steps to progress! I just wanted to ask, can I set up the cricut on my apple laptop as well as my iPad? I envisage mostly using my iPad, but I wondered if it would be easier to design projects/download pictures on my laptop to use, but once I have projects and fonts it may be easier to use my iPad.

Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge, this is wonderful. I bought this maker about a year ago & have been stumped everytime I tried to use it. First, Walmart didn't send it work a power cord, then I just couldn't get it to connect to my device but thanks to you, I've got it started. Yaaay!

You give me hope!!! Being a mixed media creator producing a wide range of items I purchased a cricut 3 yrs ago so…..super excited to say good bye to endless hours spent making handwritten display signs, tags, cleaning & care into, pricing tags, earring cards etc. etc. I’m never happy with the what results as they never match the quality to compliment my creations😢 after receiving I began the process of learning how to use However,,,, my excitement evaporated after several months of watching video after video trying to understand how to create from app to design what I wanted. I am a lil Tex-NO-challenged granted! Let me say I am “NOT” a quitter it’s generally not in me to give up BUT after a year passed canva videos finally killed me! Sadly after over dosing on frustration and videos my daughter now has my cricut 😢😢 I still have the canva app and have managed to learn some basic skills yet remain overwhelmed each time I attempt a project. My stumbling block has always been and remains one simple huge issue which is that I work on iPad and I promise you 90% of videos made to explain are from computers that “always” appear with different screen choices than my iPad shows!!! It’s madding every time I come so close to getting it…..wait, what, oops I don’t see that part on my pad! This is a more than not reoccurring happenstance that I wish were NOT! If video creators would consider to also include options for iPad users it sure would change my world of abilities. Maybe it’s just me but surly I can’t be the only one out here with this stumbling woe for learning??? Somebody say it ant so!!!!!! Oh well until then a girl can dream someday there will be how to videos crested for iPad users Thank you for sharing your skills and maybe if I watch enough of you I just might ask for my cricut back😂 God bless

I was so puzzled when I unboxed it and couldn't find the smile card project I'd seen in countless other videos (kind of sad they got rid of it - it looked like a good way to get familiar with tools). This was so much more helpful than just following the prompts on the screen.

I have an old Cricut Expression machine that uses cartridges. I lost my power cord so I guess that is a hint I need to update to a new model.
