@@thomaspuhringer8332 I agree. But media shapes the way people see the world, and painting a relationship like this as okay, normal, and romantic sets a dangerous precedent for young people.
We're small business spotting, and we see some stars in this video. You'll notice that Cupid's Hot Dogs in Northridge, California is knocking it out of the park with this co-starring role. Yeah, intergenerational relationship were totally ok from the late 60s until sometime in the 90s. Nobody went to jail for that stuff back then. It was just considered naughty, not a crime, or abuse.
The movie, to an extent, is about the "problematic" nature of their partnership. You'll notice throughout the movie that all the men in Alana's life, save for her father, are scumbags - except for Gary. So why is she hanging out with a 15-year-old kid? Because all the other men want to use her or tack advantage of her. Gary's safe. And kind. And motivated. And, yes, problematic. The world's a complicated place.
This movie is just pure magic
Magic? She's 25! He's 15! She's on a date with a baby!

Alana Haim is pure magic!!.
She's so pretty!!
Probably one of the best movies in this decade. I am sure people will remember it in 20 or 30 years as one of the best movies in 2020s.
I love how the pianist off camera starts playing right as Alana walks in. 1:07

Why are a 15-year-old and 25 year old going on a date? That’s highly problematic
it's the 70's. And he seems independent enough to me. way more manly than some 25-year-olds today.
