LeapOf Faith if I worked at that school, I would volunteer my lunch break to hang out with her and have activities for her to do. Surely the school could have an EA engage the poor child!
It is not her fault at all some friends didn’t even had any education of being allergic to the cold is really serious friends better be lucky that friends doesn’t have any allergic to the cold she need some fun too she need board game or book or coloring book at lease but can’t sit forever she look really bored for her 😳😵
That's mean that they make her stay all alone in the principal's office during break time. I had a condition when I was at school that was aggravated by cold weather so my school gave me a 'pass' thingy where me and a couple of friends could spend break time in the back room of a classroom.
At my school me and another boy have it. So the principal made a room inside, so when it's lunch break we can go in there with maximum 3 other students and play cards, board games etc.
I have this condition as well. Moving to a warmer climate isn't always the answer, as you have to deal with air conditioning. Also, your threshold can change, so if your normal is warmer you can react to temperatures which aren't as cold.
Y K B I live in NJ, so for instance last week we had a few mornings in the 60s and that was enough too make my hands break out while I was driving. I get hives ever time i get out of the shower, every time I change the laundry to the dryer, every time i take food out of the fridge. I always have gloves, a jacket, and an epipen. It's more about the change in temp than how cold it actually is. Sweat can cause hives because it cools your skin. I can't swim anymore, can't go out in the winter without serious layering - need to keep my mouth covered so I don't breath in cold air and can still only take if for maybe 5 minutes. Very frustrating. I've lived with it for over 20 years now.
It can be really expensive to move, especially when it's to another state/country. And then her parents would have to find another job and that can also be really difficult
I have this too, but my family is not moving anytime soon. Im off to college in a year so im looking into maybe going to an out of state warm place for college
Mary Hines it's not as easy to move especially since toronton has ohip which means free medical insurance, plus, finding another job in a whole nee other country is really difficult
To all the people saying move to somewhere warmer, did you not watch until the end where it said that it's not completely the temperature that affects them but the humidity. She would have to move somewhere hotter with less humidity, which would be very difficult to find
Thank u!! And I have this! Mine started appearing in 80 degree F weather! I live in Ohio very hot humid summers but very cold winters My dad lives in Florida n my hives & itching were just as bad if not worse there IT FOLLOWS U! PPL W PEANUT ALLERGIES AREN'T ASKED TO MOVE. WHY WLD PPL THINK THAT WE WHO HAVE ALLERGY TO TEMPERATURE CHANGE & COLD COLD URTICARIA RARE SHLD OR CLD MOVE & IT WLD MAGICALLY GO AWAY? THATS SILLY! THANK U FOR WRITING UR COMMENT! IT WAS FRUSTRATING ME SEEING EVERYONE SAY JUST MOVE!
I am also allergic to the cold (Cold Urticaria)... At first my friends also didn't believe me. They support me now and keep me company inside the lunch room when it's cold outside. Mine is not as bad... I would get hives if I were outside in the cold though. I can still eat cold foods and I also can only be outside in the snow for 5 minutes.
I don't break out in hives I just swell up like no ones Business. As soon as it hits 60°- 50° I have to bundle up, but my skin, even though it's covered, turns bright red and burns and it hurts to breathe. I want to move to Hawaii😩
do you know how expensive it is? you obviously have no sense in that. you can’t just pack up your bags and move to such a expensive state, it’s not easy
I also have this allergy. When I was a kid it used to be the opposite where I had an allergy to the heat. Now that I'm 27 I'm allergic to the cold. It started around when I was 21. I can't swim and walking my dog is terrible. Any part of my skin that gets cold swells with hives. NO ONE BELIEVES ME UNTIL THEY SEE IT!! I also can't breathe in cold air without feeling like my lungs are itchy. I feel you kiddo!
I have Cold Urticaria. I am allergic to the cold by direct and indirect contact. Being in cold weather causes my skin to form bumps and hives. (itchy and painful)Touching cold food/bowls of food causes my fingers to swell up and become itchy and very painful. Drinking cold drinks causes my lips to swell and become irritated. Being outside causes my ears to become red and burning. Swimming in cold water causes my entire body to form itchy hives. Even being in cold cars or rooms can trigger hives. Most all hives cause pain and itching. Sometimes it is so bad i need pressure applied on my body to stop me from scratching and itching. Normal winter days require my to wear tights, jeans, socks, closed toed shoes, tank top/ shirt sleeve shirt and a sweater, gloves, scarf, a hat, and a jacket. On very cold days, i require tights, leggings, jeans, socks, long sleeve shirt, sweater, jean jacket, puffy coat, scarf, gloves, earmuffs, and a hat. But even so my face will still redden, puff up, and have hives. Most people do not know about this disease and/or do not believe it is real.
+Jp.Girl commit suicide?!?! I love in the uk and I'm allergic to the cold I get sent to the hospital and all 4 it I wouldn't commit suicide it's just hurts
Oh sweetie, my husband has cold induced urticaria as well. It's a good thing we live in Florida. His test was simple, they did the ice cube thing and he broke out in hives and his tongue swelled!
DARIA •-• its honestly very related to the humidity of places. i have a milder version of it and I used to live in Hong Kong, which is almost tropical and very humid. however with the always 80% or higher humidity, My allergy triggers at around 65F. now I live in Las Vegas thats very dry but winter is colder, my tolerance is higher and takes more to trigger.
If people are thinking that they have this issue, look up Raynaud's disease (syndrome). I personally have this syndrome and it's another form of being allergic to the cold. different effects to this case. Raynaud's disease signs and symptoms include: -Cold fingers or toes -Color changes in your skin in response to cold or stress -Numb, prickly feeling or stinging pain upon warming or stress relief Hopefully someone recognizes the signs listed here.
Abyss I think I have that, but mild. When even slightly cold, my toes, nose, and ears feel like they're freezing. Plus, it's pretty common so I think I'm good.
I didn't think I had this but i honestly think I have a mild form of raynauds because my entire life I have been very sensitive to cold (I live in Ireland and its always cold 😨😂) and my legs go a very noticeable shade of deepish purple/blue whenever im even slightly cooler than above average heat. My toes used to often go freezing cold in mild temperatures and I had a bright red nose from the beginning of Autumn until the end of spring every year up until two years ago. My hands have recently started getting very cold without me realising and my legs still go purple-blue shades and I've always had what looks like razor bumps on my legs before I even shaved them ever. Weird thing is since I began shaving they started clearing up more 😂
Money is a good reason, the fact that few in warm areas are politically stable (places warm all year round) another would be that family could be cut off.
+The Mangle Lover my brother suffers from the same allergy and when he is at a warm place his body starts to sweat (which is normal to cool the body down) but because of the body trying to cool down itself he suffers again so even a warm place can't help.
I hate having this :( especially in gym it's so embarrassing to have to tell the teacher and other students that you have to go inside and can't participate. Most people don't believe me only my close friends, doctor, parents and sometimes teachers. Some people even make fun of me for it cause they either think I'm telling a joke, lying or think the red dots or hives are funny. I hate the winter I could never go outside and play in the snow and go sledding. I can't be outside for more than 15 minutes if it's under 60 or I get a huge rash. I can't go swimming at least the water is 85. And at the beach I can't go in the water so I just bring an inflatable pool :(
+PIGS will EAT cookies Hey, I'm 31 now and it did get a little better as i got older. I still get hives but not like when I was younger. Better clothes and layers help check out REI. It was embarrassing but not I just deal with it. Gym use to be horrible, I agree, but you shouldn't shut down for the winter, you will be missing life.
PIGS will EAT cookies - What I have is the opposite of what you have. The air conditioner has to be on all year long. If it's over 79 degrees, I'll start itching, and stinging. It always starts on my back. I can't take warm baths either. I can go outside in the summer for 10 to 15 minutes unless it's too, too hot. I can eat hot or cold foods. If it's cold enough in my house, I can wash dishes in real warm water. My house doesn't get cold enough in the summer for me to be able to wash very many dishes. The only thing I can do in the sun is swim. The water keeps me cool. The best temperature for me is around 64 degrees.
I have the same allergic reaction, and I’ve had it for 7 years. You can ingest cold food, or at least I can which she appertaining can’t, but I can’t be exposed to cold temperatures for a long period of time. It sucks but hopefully I’ll grow out of it.
Mine just got worse! But I read somewhere that sometimes the histamine levels gets better & it goes away after 7 years!? That gives me hope I've had now cpl years, this past being worst But I also read story where a lady had for 30 yrs and that bummed me But the hopeful part of her story was there was new treatment? I'm waiting to go to allergist to find out more!! I can't handle & live like this anymore! Hope u are doing ok? I was told I can't get Covid Vaccine due to anaphlactic shock & epi pen so I'm still in my self imposed prison under the covers for past 16 months ugh
I have this, but the older I’ve gotten the less severe the reaction. Wen I was little even a chilly pool would have me in welts and hives. I remember going out in the snow and getting wet,and cold and being covered head to toe in big itchy hives after that my mom wouldn’t let me play in the snow no more . I hope she grows out of it like I did.
I do believe it, I have allergy to the cold. not so bad as the little girl but I do get itchy, little bumps like mosquito bites appear on my skin then if I don't go warm up immediately the hives will get bigger and so painful spreading through the body. A/C also makes me get them. Also I suffer from chillblains (pernio) not only affecting me on winter time but mostly on spring. many many Doctors don't even know what it is and look at you like you are crazy, so frustrating so I understand how the mom and the daughter feel. Just know you are not alone in this. do what you have to to protect her, don't matter what other people think. good luck.
Same here.. had it since I was 14. As I got older seems like it has worsened.. I use to go longer without a breakout, but now it's more often and all over.. breathing started to become difficult as well during a breakout.. Moving to a warmer climate not much of a help... The cooler summer nights, getting out of shower and into any cooler air, normal re warming from the cold , anyone of these can cause a breakout.. Although I've noticed it does happen more when there is moisture involved, just rained , raining, shower etc... Anyone of you notice the same or just a coincidence??
YOU GUYS! Moving to warmer place DOESN'T REALLY WORK! They said in the video that some people from Africa has it and they still suffer from it. Hell! I get my allergic reaction on warm summer too! I think it's not cold but my skin is like 'hey Im gonna get itchy now'.
Karla Fiona I believe you bc I also have it IN THE SAME EXACT WAS Edit: And I'm allergic to hot too sooooo yaaaaa😖 2 edit:Nobody believes me that I'm allergic to BOTH
Mine started out like urs! I pray u won't need Epi Pen n get anaphlactic shock & diagnosed w cold urticaria rare Uticaria (which means itchy) can eventually turn to urticaria It progressed in mine! But once I got the hives two months later I got diagnosed & handed epi pen It sux
The saddest part is that total strangers who have never seen her in physical distress have the nerve to call her and her mother liars. They know NOTHING.
Move to Arizona!!!! I was born there. It gets to be over 118-125 degrees in summer and in winter it doesn't get that cold. Also, it's a very dry climate so there's not s lot of moisture
Airplanes are very cold. I don't think she could handle long haul flights otherwise I'd suggest Singapore. It's never cold there so she could spend a lot of time outside with friends.
It's harder than you think and her parents want her to live a normal life just like another other parent would want their kids to... it costs money and she can't take any GCSE without going to school there is no way of doing a GCSE online
Becky if her mother wants he to have a normal life Then she should sell her things and move to somewhere with a warm climate so she doesn't have to stay inside
I have this, Cold Urtaceria, it is caused by Having a virus and it is a immune disease. If you have a mild case you can cure it by going on a detox cleanse.
I have an allergy to heat. And Im a professional baker... haha... its difficult to deal with insane allergies like that I really feel bad for this girl. Totally understand the feeling in the opposite way. :( even if its really hot out have to wear long sleeve to protect from sun. And the burns are so painful and itchy like hives everywhere. My twin sister has the same problem. We have to take semi cold showers too... but mostly people comment that I am too pale and its ugly so I need sun but they dont understand.
I live in south Texas next to the border. We only have about 2-3 months of actual cold winter. In December it can get up to 70 degrees. It gets cold only from Jan-mid March. The last time it snowed was about 8 years ago and before that it was about 20. Just suggesting if you want to move far from the cold.
Gia ruiz At the end of the video, new cast said people who live in warm parts of US and Africa reached out to the mom and said it is about the mositure in the air.
Your not alone in the suffering Paigley i have it to but mine is more deadly i hope your okay though its nice to know that i'm not the only one suffering from this
My twin sisters who were born the day this video was published; are allergic to the cold and it's horrible. I feel soo bad for them that they can't play outside and enjoy outdoor holiday activities. So I do my best (I also have a daughter that is 3 months younger than my sisters) to create indoor games and crafts and other activities that will keep them busy.
I used to be allergic to the cold around the same age, and in my early teen years. The cold temperatures regardless of outside or in a lake or ocean I would get hives that were incredibly itchy and would swell into large red patches all over my body. Sometimes I would have trouble breathing and have wheezing. It doesn't really matter where you live, my first reaction and the most sever occurred in the middle of summer vacation while swimming in a pool in Germany. My whole body had hives and I started experiencing chills and light headedness. Family rushed me to a pharmacy for an allergy medication. From then on I was allergic to the cold for many years and I grew up in Canada. There is not much you can do other than stay warm and keep reactine allergy pills with you at all times. I really hope her reactions fade away as she gets older, like it has with me. The poor girl, I totally understand the way she feels, I barely told anybody when I was a child, afraid of people thinking I was lying.
I also have this allergy, I can't believe I have finally found someone else who has the same condition as me. I was diagnosed at 8 years old and it means that I could never go out in cold weather.
I HAVE THIS but what sucks is I found out last year I'm a diver and that's what I live for. In September last year I kept getting really bad gives I went to the allergic person and they said I couldn't dive and I will die if I keep diving. it I've learned to manage it but I have an epipen just in case it's not super bad just cold air and water
I feel your pain. I also dive and have cold urticaria. I dive in shallow water with thick wet suits, but only in the summer and it seems to work for me.
Chloe and Morgan i also have it, and I used to live in Hong Kong, which is very humid. its not even that cold, but if I washed my hands in cold weather, my fingers will swell up in pain. same goes to my knees, thighs, feet, and pretty much all joint areas. It can start once its lower than 65F. sometimes going to malls in summer could trigger it. it is frustrating.
Chloe and Morgan I know how you feel X when I get cold at all I get red blotches on my skin when I scratch it it spreads down my arm or leg it hurts and people make fun of me it's winter at the moment so it gets worse, I found out 4 years ago, it started on my legs then spread up to my face,
I got mine 4 years ago. Tried everything. In the end it was "put to sleep" with homeopathy. I am commenting here so that people who need answers can see it and hopefully it can help them too. I was really tired of reading everywhere - there is nothing you can do, there is no treatment, etc.
mine started this august when i held and ice cream carton at a farmers market outside.my hand turned blood red and swole right up. i dont get hives, but i get redness, swelling and lips and mouth swell and get itchy, numb when eating popsickles.. then it all burns. there does not seem to be alot of doctors here in toronto or allergist who know much about it. i am still waiting to see someone who will help. i have no clue what to wear this winter.
I feel so bad for this poor girl, she can't eat ice cream, she can't drink ice water, she can't go swimming, she can't play in the snow, poor girl, God bless you Paige and your family
I feel like i'm allergic to cold also. When it's cold i get spots kinda like mosquito bites and they're itchy ,like on my hands, my feet and my legs. My hands get a bit swollen also.
+Ekra Khan! It's probably cold urticaria. This is what I have, along with Raynaud's. You should get this checked out and get an epi-pen if needed. It can be dangerous when swimming and walking in the cold.
hi my names erica & im on my bfs account and I seen you mentioned you& ya daughter are "allergic" to the cold. . so it is hereditary? I've had it my whole life & im 30 now. cold weather/air, water, foods/ drink. uck! I ALWAYS thought it was just me and I was the odd woman out. so I feel your struggle. hopefully it gets better. I've noticed since my 20s that it is not as severe as when I was younger.
Tahishaly Fontanez that's what I thought too it's nice knowing that other people are like me and know what it feels like I can only go outside for 2 minutes without getting hives in the winter, btw im 11
As odd as it is, I have never met or seen someone else with this allergy. When I was about 7 I discovered I was allergic to the cold. I would get these hives all over my body and they would be so extremely itchy. I am 21 now and moved to Texas. And have yet to get hives when I'm cold in 2 years. No one believed me that I was allergic besides my family because they saw it actually happen to me. Keep your head up girl. You may grow out of it. I pray you do because it isn't easy
My best friend's little girl has the same illness. I'd really love to help her if I could. Even if it's just to talk to people with the same illness I think it's a really scary illness to live with, even harder on kids can't play in the snow or the water my heart goes out to all. Parents that have to deal with this should have more supports and Doctors and people that don't believe should look it up before call someone a liar.
I also am elergic to the cold. Cold urticaria. And in elementary I was never allowed to go outside because it was always to cold. Even if I’m swimming in warm ish water i would still get hives🙄🙄😂😂
I had that happen and it was terrifying I saw a naturopathic and he helped to heal me. I still react to extreme temperatures both heat and cold but not to that degree anymore I will contact that website to help her. I swore if I survived and got better I would help others with the illness.
Parmetries OMG I HAVE THAT TOO I also have the thing that the lady in the video has and I have to be in perfect weather or.....I can die or heat too cold right now it is kinda cold so I feel like I'm slowing down
We were so lucky that my son's teachers saw the reactions and learned with us. They allowed my son's friends to stay inside every day that he needed to.
Such a relief to know that I'm not the only one..whenever I touch something cold I get swollen skin and itchy rash..I also am a patient of allergic rhinitis..but fortunately I live in a tropical climate.but few months of winter is extremely painful for me..I tried to tell my family but they think I'm making it up..
My mother has something really similar. She doesn’t suffer to the point that she could die. Not at all. But if it’s too cold outside or if she enters cold water her skin goes completely red and her body gets swollen. Her legs, her hands, her face. This exists. Can’t believe people calls her a liar.
I'm glad her parents and teachers can't find any solution other than putting her in the principles office. People are so self centered. Oh no, don't move to where it's warm. Just keep your daughter in a miserable existence. Wtf. That girl is going to grow up in a weird way. They're messing her up by leaving her in isolation like that. Im so annoyed by this. Her parents need smacked hard into some sense. They literally moved from a cold place to a cold place. Selfish. Oh if we move to where it's hot we can't use the ac, our daughter lives in constant isolation, but we don't want to be uncomfortable in the heat. Way to go parents.
Sarah Leslie-Marie Okay, well first of all, stop judging her parents? It's incredibly difficult to be a parent of a child with a rare disorder, and I'm sure they're doing their best. I have this allergy. I was diagnosed with it when I was 11; I'm 20 now. Is isolating a child good? No, but it's better than letting a child die. Being socially outcast from this growing up SUCKED, but at the end of the day it was better to miss some things than to have a reaction. I'm just glad her school believes her; mine DIDN'T, and had a lot of back-and-forth with my doctor before agreeing to make the bare minimum accommodations necessary. And moving to somewhere warm doesn't help, but not because the parents are "selfish" & want to blast the ac. It's because PUBLIC PLACES you CANNOT avoid, like schools, stores, workplaces, etc. will blast the ac, and that's something the parents cannot control. Don't be so quick to name-call & judge someone when you have no idea what they're going through.
Sarah Leslie-Marie In the video, the news cast said people reached out to the mom and told her even in warm places doesn't help. They told her it is about the moisture in the air.
Anna Driver Yeah I saw that. I just think it's a little ridiculous to sit her in the office like that. That's sort of lazy thinking, you know? There has to be a better solution.
Sarah Leslie-Marie At my school me and another boy have it. So the principal made a room inside, so when it's lunch break we can go in there with maximum 3 other students and play cards, board games etc.
Harley Carter "It dosen't have to be winter for a reaction to occur. Simple having wet hair rest on your neck after a shower is enough to trigger a reaction and thats what most people dont understand." Also, 3:55 watch the whole video before you type in a really simple answer.
I lived in LA for almost all my life and when I moved to New York I had the cold allergy for couple of weeks but I recovered. I hope she gets better :)
I pity anyone with this condition. I've never heard of this before, but still would never accuse a child of lying! How many children really would want to be cooped up inside all the time! Terrible that people call her a liar!
i have this condition and in high school no one believed me but my own twin sister. to this day i don't like telling anyone due to people laughing and not believing me. my allergist was shocked when she did an ice pack test on me. i didn't develop it until i was about 16 years old. its very hard to have this condition and living in BC Canada when the temperatures start to drop. and its not like u can just pick up and move to a warmer place. to this day i have never met anyone that has this condition, even my twin sister does't have it. seeing this clip makes me cry, because how her mom says how people didn't believe her. because its a very scary condition. it would be wonderful to talk to someone who has a experience in this or is going through this.
My husband has this allergy. We live in the United States and every single doctor he has gone to has heard of it and says it is no big deal as long as he isn't exposed to exterem cold temperatures. We don't turn the AC on in the car most times and we don't go outside for very long in the winter. That's all it has effected our lives really. Sometimes he will say "I'm getting itchy" with random things and we hurry bad to the warmth.
People saying why doesn't she just move to a warm place but at the end they said that air conditioning can be just as bad as the cold air outside so moving doesn't exactly get rid of the problem
I never liked spring weather because it was always cloudy and raining but cloud mild weather has suddenly become my new best friend. It’s a sad life, I’m missing out on a lot but not that much, my husband and I go out for movies late evening or to dinner or stay home, but if I were a kid it would probably be more difficult.
I’m actually “allergic” to the heat. It’s a photosensitivity disorder. I’m not about to go out into the sun or be in heat over 70 degrees. I break out into hives and will pass out. Winter are the months I enjoy the outdoors!
this guy i go to school with has the same reaction but only to cold weather. he’s usually okay if he’s wearing a sweater and long pants and not outside for longer than 5 minutes. but his isn’t as bad as hers, it’s not deadly.
She is not alone, and as she gets older it does get better, may not go away but lessens with age. I am now 33 and have had to deal with this all my life and have been called a liar throughout those years. Now I am able to go out in the cold, but still am unable to have contact of any kind. Snow, ice or even cold water. It will get better, caution and care. ❤
I have the same thing!! It developed when I hit puberty and nobody believed me, even with paperwork from my allergist and an epi-pen. I'm glad people are talking about it, I had reactions for months until we figured out what it was.
Why doesn't the school let her invite her friends into the office?
featherqueen31 because she really has no friends
oscar serpent x that's not nice
featherqueen31 ikr, tbh if she was my friend I would stay with her. So many likes 😮
+Jacelyn Duncan he wasn't being mean she said it in the video their not her friends because they think she's lying.
featherqueen31 the school needs to be more friendly to her
Aw that's cruel. They should at least give her something to do while everyone else is playing
LeapOf Faith if I worked at that school, I would volunteer my lunch break to hang out with her and have activities for her to do. Surely the school could have an EA engage the poor child!
I know right. It's not her fault poor thing. She still deserves to have fun and play with her friends and do what every other child her age does.
I'm allergic to the cold too
Well the school is weird, she should wear more clothes
Everyone in my school just stays inside during winter anyway. Seems strange that they're not allowed inside when it's cold
I don’t think anyone’s forcing her to stay alone, but maybe kids just want to play outside but I’m sure her friends sit with her sometimes
So move to a warmer climate to keep her safer. No place will be perfect but somewhere hot will help
Erin Duffy listen to the end
Learn how much moving to a different place costs then ask that question again.
Erin Duffy Singapore 🇸🇬 will help it is super hot here
I have this condition as well.
I can't swim anymore, can't go out in the winter without serious layering - need to keep my mouth covered so I don't breath in cold air and can still only take if for maybe 5 minutes. Very frustrating. I've lived with it for over 20 years now.
Why haven't her parents moved to somewhere warmer?
It can be really expensive to move, especially when it's to another state/country. And then her parents would have to find another job and that can also be really difficult
+Bree Olivia its more difficult living in worry like that. If i was her mom i would sell everything and move to florida
I have this too, but my family is not moving anytime soon. Im off to college in a year so im looking into maybe going to an out of state warm place for college
Mary Hines it's not as easy to move especially since toronton has ohip which means free medical insurance, plus, finding another job in a whole nee other country is really difficult

Katrina Crahart true I have the same alergy, people don’t understand
Thank u!! And I have this! Mine started appearing in 80 degree F weather! I live in Ohio very hot humid summers but very cold winters
My dad lives in Florida n my hives & itching were just as bad if not worse there
IT FOLLOWS U!
PPL W PEANUT ALLERGIES AREN'T ASKED TO MOVE. WHY WLD PPL THINK THAT WE WHO HAVE ALLERGY TO TEMPERATURE CHANGE & COLD
COLD URTICARIA RARE
SHLD OR CLD MOVE & IT WLD MAGICALLY GO AWAY? THATS SILLY!
THANK U FOR WRITING UR COMMENT! IT WAS FRUSTRATING ME SEEING EVERYONE SAY JUST MOVE!
Sorry cap lock was on
I am also allergic to the cold (Cold Urticaria)...

Aleea Marie are all of u sure ur allergic to the cold my sister is allergic to the cold my sister has to go to the office too
+The Fluffy Corgi I went to the allergy person and they did a test and I am
Aleea Marie
I feel so sorry for you... I hope you are ok.
why does she not move to Hawaii here in Hawaii it never drops below 60 degrees
:))
It costs a lot of money and they would need to secure a job first. Not always feasible.
do you know how expensive it is? you obviously have no sense in that. you can’t just pack up your bags and move to such a expensive state, it’s not easy
Jason I have the same thing as her but I am also allergic to the hot weather
Jason Im on my way
she needs a good dose of Australia
Erin Diehl your not wrong 😂 feels like you can't breathe with the humidity
Effie Caren at least she wouldn't fear anything with the heat we've had! Hahaha
suga kookie armyyy!!!
hayoung ARMY!!!!
suga kookie
no she needs to move to Tasmania. Tasmania has the cleanest air in the world and the cleanest water
I feel you kiddo!
why is she not homeschooled
exacally
+Amy Lovelock ***Exactlly
+Leticia Williams ****Exactly
Ekra Khan! I was close xD
+abc 123 I know those arent real friends who dont comfort her yeah they dont think shes a liar
I dont think she'll be coming to the UK anytime soon
Stella C she lives in Canada
Charley Smith I probably would too
Thani bq Gaming thats becuase you live in a warm country. If you live somewhere cold like me I would really want to commit suicide
+Jp.Girl commit suicide?!?! I love in the uk and I'm allergic to the cold I get sent to the hospital and all 4 it I wouldn't commit suicide it's just hurts
melissa donnelly but the girl is at the point where she CAN'T go outside
why do they make her just sit in the office????
Oh sweetie, my husband has cold induced urticaria as well. It's a good thing we live in Florida. His test was simple, they did the ice cube thing and he broke out in hives and his tongue swelled!
move to Hawaii
I flipping wish we could, it's too expensive to move out there and we're in the same lat as Hawaii. I think a bit lower.
it is super expensive to live her
Tina Chandler I hope u and ur husband is doing well, this rare allergy seems scary :/
why can't they just move to a warmer place
DARIA •-• jobs, friends, family. lots of reasons
Karlie Fish Yess But Her Child Health's Is Much More Important .Family & Friends Could Always Visite Her So That Aint an Excuse
+Honey. Bnt Its expensive to move and even then there is no escape.
TheMinkmermaid Yep Ure Right But There's a Solution For Everything
DARIA •-• its honestly very related to the humidity of places. i have a milder version of it and I used to live in Hong Kong, which is almost tropical and very humid. however with the always 80% or higher humidity, My allergy triggers at around 65F. now I live in Las Vegas thats very dry but winter is colder, my tolerance is higher and takes more to trigger.
If people are thinking that they have this issue, look up Raynaud's disease (syndrome).
I personally have this syndrome and it's another form of being allergic to the cold. different effects to this case.
Raynaud's disease signs and symptoms include:
-Cold fingers or toes
-Color changes in your skin in response to cold or stress
-Numb, prickly feeling or stinging pain upon warming or stress relief
Hopefully someone recognizes the signs listed here.
Abyss I have raynauds
Weird thing is since I began shaving they started clearing up more 😂
Abyss OMFG I HAVE THIS THE DOCOTRS ALWAYS SAID IT WAS COD URTICARIEA TYSM!!
Abyss my brother is allergic the cold
This is actually really sad. Imagine how much she has missed out on her whole lives. Many prayers from Minnesota!
cant she just move to a very warm place?
exacally
Money is a good reason, the fact that few in warm areas are politically stable (places warm all year round) another would be that family could be cut off.
+The Mangle Lover Air conditioning would wreck her.
+The Mangle Lover my brother suffers from the same allergy and when he is at a warm place his body starts to sweat (which is normal to cool the body down) but because of the body trying to cool down itself he suffers again so even a warm place can't help.
there's air conditioner in canada lol
well she can't stay in Canada
I developed it a year after moving to Canada.
PIGS will EAT cookies I just never get snow in southern California
PIGS will EAT cookies aww I'm sorry
omg I'm so sorry
I have the same allergic reaction, and I’ve had it for 7 years. You can ingest cold food, or at least I can which she appertaining can’t, but I can’t be exposed to cold temperatures for a long period of time. It sucks but hopefully I’ll grow out of it.
Mine just got worse! But I read somewhere that sometimes the histamine levels gets better & it goes away after 7 years!? That gives me hope I've had now cpl years, this past being worst
But I also read story where a lady had for 30 yrs and that bummed me
But the hopeful part of her story was there was new treatment? I'm waiting to go to allergist to find out more!! I can't handle & live like this anymore!
Hope u are doing ok? I was told I can't get Covid Vaccine due to anaphlactic shock & epi pen so I'm still in my self imposed prison under the covers for past 16 months ugh
She looks like her mom a lot!
Just know you are not alone in this. do what you have to to protect her, don't matter what other people think. good luck.
i have this too not nice at all
YES I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE
Alejandra O. I have it too for more than two years now
Same here.. had it since I was 14.
It can get worse
Keep eye out & keep epi pen handy !! In case throat closes up! Mine started same way like u!
Poor little girl, she's such a sweetheart. I hope she will eventually get rid of that allergy!
She should move to either Texas or Arizona
Selly Texas gets very cold surprisingly haha!
Selly It’s 35 degrees right now and I live in Texas
It’s not just the weather it’s everything. The air conditioning, cold water, cold drinks, she will never be able to escape this.
How about hawaii
How about Florida 🌞🌝👍
YOU GUYS! Moving to warmer place DOESN'T REALLY WORK! They said in the video that some people from Africa has it and they still suffer from it. Hell! I get my allergic reaction on warm summer too! I think it's not cold but my skin is like 'hey Im gonna get itchy now'.
move to a tropical place? or a desert?
We live in the Middle East, it can reach a maximum of 50。C and in the winter it falls to the low tens (low of 12) so it does get cold even in a desert
Cool cloud i fforgot abouutt tthat
7saany not everyone has the money.
At night they fall way below freezing.
7saany well I have the same thing as that girl but I am also allergic too the hot so ya
I am so sorry for this amazing little girl for what she's going through. hugs
OMG! I suffer from something like that.. like it can't KILL me , but I also get itchy and I HAAATE it. Nobody believes me.
Try Allegra it might help, I have the same thing doctors prescribed me it but I really hope they do more research.
Karla Fiona I believe you bc I also have it IN THE SAME EXACT WAS
Edit: And I'm allergic to hot too sooooo yaaaaa😖
2 edit:Nobody believes me that I'm allergic to BOTH
SAME
I believe you because I suffer from this too. It’s miserable.
Mine started out like urs! I pray u won't need Epi Pen n get anaphlactic shock & diagnosed w cold urticaria rare
Uticaria (which means itchy) can eventually turn to urticaria
It progressed in mine! But once I got the hives two months later I got diagnosed & handed epi pen
It sux
The saddest part is that total strangers who have never seen her in physical distress have the nerve to call her and her mother liars. They know NOTHING.
Move to Arizona!!!! I was born there. It gets to be over 118-125 degrees in summer and in winter it doesn't get that cold. Also, it's a very dry climate so there's not s lot of moisture
It’s not just the weather even the air conditioning can hurt her. Did you watch the video?
I've got the same illness, but in my case I'm allergic to heat as well, so I can't be in a very cold/hot environment for prolonged time.
They should try moving to a country where its hot all the time.
Air conditioning could hurt her tho
hawaii is perfect, not hot but NEVER cold!
Airplanes are very cold. I don't think she could handle long haul flights otherwise I'd suggest Singapore. It's never cold there so she could spend a lot of time outside with friends.
Joshie102 exactly like move to Hawaii
Joshie102 no bc I have the same thing but even more rare that I am allergic to hot,cold,clorin,shampoo,fish,penutsext...
Thank you for sharing your story. I can imagine the reactions you have had. Just because people have not heard of it does not mean it does not exist.
Sorry, but why doesn't she just take online school?
nostringsattatched ikr
nostringsattatched or just be homeschooled
Yeah, I was wondering the same thing tbh
It's harder than you think and her parents want her to live a normal life just like another other parent would want their kids to... it costs money and she can't take any GCSE without going to school there is no way of doing a GCSE online
Becky if her mother wants he to have a normal life Then she should sell her things and move to somewhere with a warm climate so she doesn't have to stay inside
My 2year old daughter has this allergy also.
Thanks for sharing. Hopefully a solution will be found
I have this, Cold Urtaceria, it is caused by Having a virus and it is a immune disease.
Imelda Ruiz You would have to worry about the AC being on.
I have the same allergy. My school overreacted too. My friends are supportive as they have seen what it has done to me. Awareness is key.
i was so nervous and scared to be in this and im going to be making a reacting video to it
Are you the girl in this news story? If so, I hope you are doing ok! Are you still living in Canada?
Paigley .T I know how you feel.
Paigley .T I have Cold urticaria too. It sucks.
Paigley .T You poor girl. Hoping one day the doctor's will find a cure for this. My best friend can relate to you too.💖💖💖
Your not alone in the suffering Paigley i have it to but mine is more deadly i hope your okay though its nice to know that i'm not the only one suffering from this
I have the same thing if I get to cold or to hot. My Doctors made me feel crazy.
I also have an allergy to the cold. I break out in hives and my tounge may swell. I take Zyrtec which helps.
Just move to Phoenix AZ. She won't need to worry about cold weather at all 😂
twenty øne piløts girl omg same
Arizona, still 80 degrees right now
twenty øne piløts girl YYYYYYAAAAAAAAAASSSSSS I LOVE TØP
My dad has a bee allergy.
*gold clap*
Chloe and Morgan me too
Chloe and Morgan i also have it, and I used to live in Hong Kong, which is very humid. its not even that cold, but if I washed my hands in cold weather, my fingers will swell up in pain. same goes to my knees, thighs, feet, and pretty much all joint areas. It can start once its lower than 65F. sometimes going to malls in summer could trigger it. it is frustrating.
Chloe and Morgan OMG I HAVE THIS NOW I AM SCARED TO GO DIVING TOMORROW
Ms. Cherry Blossom.. Message me!
Adi Kanda i did..:)
I have a student with this. She got hurt and we gave her an ice pack, she broke out in hives as soon as it touched her skin. Scared me to death.
Just saying wouldn't it be best if they lived in the Caribbean or somewhere hot so she can go outside more
I feel so bad for this poor girl, she can't eat ice cream, she can't drink ice water, she can't go swimming, she can't play in the snow, poor girl, God bless you Paige and your family
I feel like i'm allergic to cold also. When it's cold i get spots kinda like mosquito bites and they're itchy ,like on my hands, my feet and my legs. My hands get a bit swollen also.
I have the exact same reactions as you!! but mine appear just when its cold not by eating ice cream or anything like that
I was diagnosed with cold urticaria. Usually you cant eat cold things either or at least in my case. I would get it checked out.
Maria Paula Nucamendi Same only when it's cold
+Ekra Khan! wear a thick jacket lol
+Ekra Khan! It's probably cold urticaria. This is what I have, along with Raynaud's. You should get this checked out and get an epi-pen if needed. It can be dangerous when swimming and walking in the cold.
I am allergic to the cold too. It’s the worst 🙄
Me n my son are allergic to the cold, cold water!!! Thought it was just us
Wow that is sad that BOTH of you are allergic to the cold
Tahishaly Fontanez at least there lots of things to keep u warm! [i try to look on the bright side]
hi my names erica & im on my bfs account and I seen you mentioned you& ya daughter are "allergic" to the cold. . so it is hereditary? I've had it my whole life & im 30 now. cold weather/air, water, foods/ drink. uck! I ALWAYS thought it was just me and I was the odd woman out. so I feel your struggle. hopefully it gets better. I've noticed since my 20s that it is not as severe as when I was younger.
I'm sorry I wrote daughter. . meant to write YOUR SON. apologizes
Tahishaly Fontanez that's what I thought too it's nice knowing that other people are like me and know what it feels like I can only go outside for 2 minutes without getting hives in the winter, btw im 11
I have this allergy and it's very painful and upsetting that even my friends don't believe me
OMG just move your child to Florida? if she's allergic to cold, why would you keep her somewhere where it gets that cold
Please watch the whole video. Explains why moving to warm/hot places doesn't help.
Air conditioners
I also have the same allergy as her, the exact same. But thankfully I live in a place that's always sunny.
so they gave the interview outside on a windy day 😑
😐....😂
Katherine j lol like wtf
Dajah Warfield windy not cold
aiyanna peoples but wind can be cold because it's a breeze like a fan
As odd as it is, I have never met or seen someone else with this allergy. When I was about 7 I discovered I was allergic to the cold. I would get these hives all over my body and they would be so extremely itchy. I am 21 now and moved to Texas. And have yet to get hives when I'm cold in 2 years. No one believed me that I was allergic besides my family because they saw it actually happen to me. Keep your head up girl. You may grow out of it. I pray you do because it isn't easy
I have a friend who has a condition like this but to the heat. No he doesn't just get sunburns. It's an actual allergy. He gets hives and it's deadly.
Alexander Hamilton my friend is like that and I am allergic to the cold! Me and her are like total opposites for being best friends
well hi
Me too! I’m allergic but it can be controlled with medication.
Omg finally someone that has the same condition as me !!! It’s really annoying knowing you can possibly go into shock from the cold .
I'm allergic to heat (summers), I get the same kind of rashes. I know how it feels. 😕
uhm it's very different because heat rash isn't life threatening
I'm allergic to the hot. My skin gets all red and afterword can start peeling. I also exude fluid from my pores.
Parmetries that’s called a sunburn honey
Michela Short it's called a joke honey
Parmetries it’s called a sunburn 😂
Parmetries OMG I HAVE THAT TOO I also have the thing that the lady in the video has and I have to be in perfect weather or.....I can die or heat too cold right now it is kinda cold so I feel like I'm slowing down
Parmetries then don't joke about this stuff it's serious
We were so lucky that my son's teachers saw the reactions and learned with us. They allowed my son's friends to stay inside every day that he needed to.
Annette Woods I’m glad I helped someone ❤️
Don't come to Ireland lol
Ikr lol
Ahtlolevad10x21 yeah lol
Or Scotland
Ahtlolevad10x21 Australia
Don't come to the UK full stop haha were cold all year round
Such a relief to know that I'm not the only one..whenever I touch something cold I get swollen skin and itchy rash..I also am a patient of allergic rhinitis..but fortunately I live in a tropical climate.but few months of winter is extremely painful for me..I tried to tell my family but they think I'm making it up..
She needs to go to Texas it's really hot here
Libby Qualls year round?
I have a problem with sunlight and sun poisoning, many people don’t believe me, I can imagine how hard it is for them to convince people.
Just fucking move to a place with a warmer climate
Haley Carter i laughed as i read this, i was thinking the same lol
Harley Carter "It dosen't have to be winter for a reaction to occur. Simple having wet hair rest on your neck after a shower is enough to trigger a reaction and thats what most people dont understand."
Also, 3:55 watch the whole video before you type in a really simple answer.
She can’t because she needs to go to the airport and the airport is sooo cold so yea
Ps. I am talking if she is going to Australia or something
So how young are u? Just move? Seems simple until your an adult and are aware of jobs mortgage credit etc. It's not that simple
Like az ;-;
Wow, her and her mom looks so darn much alike. So cute.
I lived in LA for almost all my life and when I moved to New York I had the cold allergy for couple of weeks but I recovered. I hope she gets better :)
If Ur friends don't believe u , they ain't your friend.
I pity anyone with this condition. I've never heard of this before, but still would never accuse a child of lying! How many children really would want to be cooped up inside all the time! Terrible that people call her a liar!
I'm here complaining about my raynauds and then I see this. Poor little girl! I feel so bad for her. I believe her and I want to give her a hug.
Omg.... stay strong 😭❤ God bless
Hi.. I'm from Indonesia..
And I'm alergic to cold too,..
Glad to know that I'm not alone..
I ran track with a girl who would break out in hives during cold weather. She bundled up and covered her face while running.
i have this condition and in high school no one believed me but my own twin sister. to this day i don't like telling anyone due to people laughing and not believing me. my allergist was shocked when she did an ice pack test on me. i didn't develop it until i was about 16 years old. its very hard to have this condition and living in BC Canada when the temperatures start to drop. and its not like u can just pick up and move to a warmer place.
to this day i have never met anyone that has this condition, even my twin sister does't have it.
seeing this clip makes me cry, because how her mom says how people didn't believe her. because its a very scary condition.
it would be wonderful to talk to someone who has a experience in this or is going through this.
I love how nobody watches the video first, and comments "Why haven't her parents moved to somewhere warmer?" Like god watch the whole video
I know someone who is allergic to the cold, and she lives in Canada
People saying why doesn't she just move to a warm place but at the end they said that air conditioning can be just as bad as the cold air outside so moving doesn't exactly get rid of the problem
you could move to a warmer place or drive her to school or homeschool her
I have the same allergy and now live in Arizona. But I still have reactions to the a/c so it does not really matter were you live.
This is super relatable because I had a cold allergy and it was so far for me to tell people
I never liked spring weather because it was always cloudy and raining but cloud mild weather has suddenly become my new best friend.
