I had my 1st phone interview last friday with 2 ppl. (Random order)
    1. Tell me abt yourself
    2. What is the last trait you learned
    3. How do you feel abt working in this type of environment?
    4. Are you a good problem solver?
    5. What if your plan backfires?
    6. What do you know abt our company? What kinds of products do we make?
    7. Tell us a time you solved a problem.

I took your advice. I got ready like any other work day. Even shaved for a phone interview.
The questions were a little out of my range because of the companies ecosystem.
Got the short term contract, that might lead to a full time hire.

Thank you so much for this! My mom was unwell for the past few years, and needed me to stay home, and take care of her so I wasn't able to work full time. Now that she has past being homeless is a Real possibility, unless I get a good paying job this week. My sister, who has a job where she hires people, has helped me with my resume so it doesn't end up in the "round file". I just finished it, and will be applying for jobs this Monday. So I am taking the weekend to learn about acing jobs interviews both in person, and on the phone. This was extremely helpful.

I think most hiring managers want to put as little effort as possible into it, and just want to get "somebody" onboard as soon as possible and with as little work and time as possible. That s one of the main reasons that they hire recruiters to do the work for them.

So, on Saturday during lunch, I got a call from a company that set up an interview for Monday (that's today) at 3:00PM. Because it was my son's birthday, I had no time after work to prepare and Sundays I do different things. Monday morning, at 9:30, I read all about the company and filled out their online job application and touched up my resume, then I dug it to your videos. I aced the interview and they hired me!!! WHAAAAH! Thanks to your insights and contagious demeanor I gained the confidence to just get it done.

I’d differentiate between an initial phone screen, a true phone interview and a video interview ....also, the participants of the call/meeting are of paramount importance - know your audience

Is anyone freaking out while having this conversation in the TH-cam comments?
That's all a phone interview is - a conversation with someone in your field.
