- The Last Legion, the action-packed historical epic starring Colin Firth, Ben Kingsley and Aishwarya Rai, is in cinemas everywhere October 19.
Rome, 476 AD. A mighty force for almost 500 years, the Roman Empire is under threat. On the day of the young Emperor Romulus's crowning, a barbarian army attacks the city, capturing the young emperor and his tutor, the seer Ambrosinus (Ben Kingsley). The only hope for them is the legionnaire Aurelius (Colin Firth) who rescues them with the help of Mira, a mysterious warrior-woman (Aishwarya Rai). Facing danger and betrayal on all sides, the small group travel to Britannia to seek the help of the last legion still loyal to Rome and, with the help of the mythical sword Excalibur, prepare for one last battle. Get ready to witness the rise of King Arthur's legend.

in a world, where a guy with a deep voice, tells you about an epic story,
in a genre where legends are born, throw history to the wind and
eat your popcorn.
When I was taking a class on the history of ancient Rome, about once a week my teacher would mention this movie, as well a how "never watch this movie!" and I agree with him.
Always there are a wizard and a fighting women who use two swords and it seems she can defeat every single men in the word with only a wisper...
Great movie
A good video, but I don't think that the film itself went down a bundle in the UK. Take a peek at my video "The Real Camelot" to show the most likely place where Camelot existed, with good evidence. Acknowledging of course that this film is set in a period before Arthur.
this came to us a month ago ..
s this gonna show in u.s.?
@moleman9000 True !!!
the novel which is far different from the film by valerio massimo manfredi. is a 1000 times better
@Lobetta. I like Manfredi and have read most of his books - the Alexander Trilogy was briliant. This one tho', when I read it, it was kinda obvious that he is looking to Hollywood as The Next Step, particularly with his characters - a politically correct race/gender mix for starters. I liked it but he seems to be trying too hard. A pity it's literally impossible to make a movie about Alexander. That one a couple of years ago was dismal.
hm this trailer makes me wanne watch lord of the rings xD i wonder why:)
@ozwick14
I agree with everything you said but this is not an English story, English people never clashed with the Romans, the Celts (Britons) did.
But yes they have taken yet another -WESTERNERS- story / history and fucked it, yet again.
that's low.... :/
@ozwick14 YEEHHH LETS BLAME AMERICANSSSS YEAHHH!!!
This is insolting all English legends this and Last King arthur shame on u america
i am huge fan of roman empire movies and battles... i read every battle on wikipedia about roman empire... but last legion is most horrible movie i ever seen.....
Weals i.e. welsh is an old germanic derogatory which means foreign like some modern people would use wog or wap or dago etc.
@phr34kyy When I said English I had in mind the fucking AWFUL remakes of English classics like Lord of the Flies and Flight of the Phoenix come to mind right now.
Thor has to take the cake though... everytime I see a link to it I fly off into rant/rage mode :/
MY GOD... THIS IS A SACRILEGE AGAINST HISTORY!!! I hate those hollywoodic shit films!!!
For all the bullshit written here about this film, I'll say this.
No Rome, No Wales. Welsh I am and this film is far more accurate than you would believe in terms of its portrayal of the fall of rome from a Romano Celtic perspective.
Vortigern=OverLord had to call in the "barbarians" to help defend against other tribes of Picts and Scotti (Irish). Read your history!
is it just me who thinks the butcher can do better movies than they produce nowadays? what a waste of money and goods....
I do think I could do better...fuck
Worst film EVER fucking made.
