Same here lol, so i go from door to door and speak about God, i mean Lord of Woe.. but they just watch me weird and tell me to go and fuck myself.. they are weird! Why'd they do that to me!?
Your comment is basically the reason they signed with Rise. They now have greater reach being singed with a bigger US label. I still believe they're signed to their other label in AUS tho. Think of this as the same shit Enter Shikari did with Hopeless(?) they only signed for distribution purposes.
is no one gonna talk about the amazing shots the cinematographer got here?? i feel like most bands in this genre generally get pretty garbage videos but this is beautiful
Came back to this song today. Just sitting here with my dog and jamming out, spending later on with my girl. Appreciate life guys that's the message. Enjoy the moments life gives you. Love anyone who reads this fr
Enjoying the moments is a hard lesson that I just learned a few days ago with the passing of my best friend for more than half of my life. Although, I am the older one, he was like a big brother to me. Thank you for this statement, and for the love.
y'know i'd give you a thumbs up,but you're at 69. and that's the sex number. so. can't. but i also quite like this song, and am a fan of deftones, less so than this band, but i like them both,
Legitimately one of the best metal songs I have ever heard, the keys and guitar in the breakdowns are just majestic, this is a daily played song and will be forever
I have got to say lyrics wise, Marrow, Elegies, Marionette, Old Souls are probably my favorite of the previous albums, their lyrics speak so many levels that I can relate to.
Guilty that I read the comments while listening to this track. Everybody saying they sold out, I'm listening now and I don't know what you're bitching about? Lol it still sounds like make them suffer. It's the next instalment of MTS, old souls II. Not Neverbloom. But there will probably be one track on their new album that relates back to Neverbloom like the last album. Progression. Sounds amazing
Josh Poole yes, but I'm talking about that type of songs, that you can call "heavy, agressive" - which you can compare to most of their other songs. Timeless is something completely different
Absolutely the most peaceful video you've ever made besides Elegies and Neverbloom. The piano is perfect. Guitars sound off a little. The mix is entirely different from Old souls. I do hope there is at least a few super heavy songs on this next installment. The Well 2 or something other. Weeping wastelands 2. It'd be impossible to throw out your old fans and gain twice as more somewhere else, right? But hey, this does not mean this song is absolutely remarkable, I'm just a little scared. It sounds awesome, just please, don't let yourself die out like all the rest. You've better gift than that. Better heart. Imagine releasing another Neverbloom, would you blow up? Would you die? Or can you already see a different road than us? Guys the song is absolutely beautiful. It's great. Really. Keep doin it if it's what you feel.
Im late to the party but idc I’m in tears over here.. so glad I came across this masterpiece of a song and I’ll be checking out more songs for sure ❤️🔥
I hope there will be at least one song per last albums, i mean one song that will have a soul of "Lord of Woe" album, one like "Neverbloom" album, one like "Old Souls" album, and rest to be like this one "Ether" because it's always nice to make some change, to go on, to make something different, to widen horizon ^^
Well if you compare neverbloom to old souls, the album structure is so similar yet carrying on their sound in new ways. Hopefully this is how they write this next album. and if their single releases are anything to go by this is the new elegies and let me in type of single.
Michael Ford Oh yes, i remember how much hate there was on "Let Me In" when they released that single.. and later *puff*, magic.. "Old Souls" album showed us that it's fucking amazing
I have such a connection to this song that has never been matched by anything for me. I first heard it when I was falling asleep listening to music and when I woke up I thought I had dreamt it. I spent the whole next day searching for it. The thing I specifically remembered was the breakdown and I remember how beautiful and dreamy it was, but also how heavy and hard hitting it was and it just made me want to cry. I believe that if there is anything supernatural, or spiritual, music is the gateway to it. I've always had such a strong place in my heart for music and nothing can ever match it.
Still think this is the best song and lineup the band had, I enjoy their newer music as well but none of their new stuff holds a candle to this song. It’s one of the best metal songs I’ve ever heard though so there’s that too.
To anyone who still doesn't get it, if your not familiar too well with MTS and their music, they write concept album or tell stories in their albums, lord of woe and neverbloom were so brutal because it was in the voice of the lord of woe: anger, aggression, hate, and misery. They were like that because of that specific character, however when old souls came along, the lord of woe was not forgotten but just wasn't the main character anymore there for the mood and story takes a different approach, same thing with time/occasion so like their stories they are moving forward using a different sound to set the mood for the story, lord of woe and neverbloom= aggressive tempered story, old souls= emotional, if you look at the lyrics and stuff they are definitely using more emotions too
+jacob gonzales Izanami and Izanagi are the parents of the gods in this mytchology as far as I checked. Izanami lives in hell and Izanagi in heaven (shit happened and thats how it is now). I really hope its based on Japanese mytchology :D
+Vasil Vasilev first time listener of this band here. They are Japanese mythological gods who are a couple. Izanami died and went to hell. Izanagi stayed on earth and tried to bring izanami back from hell but failed. He has continued to try and bring her back. Hence the lyrics are izanami take me and izanagi take me home. They appear to be metaphors for death and life. Imo this song is about taking life as it is and accepting the cycle of life but also being mindful of death. It's quite beautiful in all honesty.
+Lilith Immaculate Yeah, Neverbloom had a dark theme. not every album is going to have that. Yeah it's my favorite album; maybe of all time. But I'm open minded and end up loving all of MTS albums lol
It's like "it's a sin" starting as a deathcore band. Cause YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED to do anything that leaves that sector. Anything that is not filled with endless breakdowns and blasty drums is you "selling out" lol. Luckily there are people like us who appreciate the progression of such nice bands. By the way could anybody recommend me more songs with this vibe?! I fucking love it, it's like Deftones but Deftones isn't that aggresive on the vocals.
I mean come on, you guys are just getting better. The sound is so beautifully heavy and it's just perfect. Been a fan since the beginning and I can literally still play every song you guys have made. Amazing band 10 out of 10.
There's nothing left of you So when I left the loop, What were you trying to prove? You're skin and bones crumbling But now the cloud are parting With blue skies and endless heights, So just fill your lungs and breathe Slow it down, just wait Take some time to question life While you're young and learning Take it slow, just stay I know it's hard but moving fast, You're going to miss the journey Death embrace me, Izanami take me Life embrace me, Izanagi take me home Take me home The earth is coming to life again With blue skies and endless heights, So face east to the sunrise This is my resting place, inside my mind You know it's fine to take your time, So just fill your lungs and breathe Slow it down, just wait Take some time to question life While you're young and learning Take it slow, just stay I know it's hard but moving fast, You're going to miss the journey Death embrace me, Izanami take me Life embrace me, Izanagi take me home You're skin and bones and crumbling Just know your clock is ticking, It's moving so fast, And all the clouds are parting, It's beaming with light, So take my hand and trust me, Because we are going to see the sunrise If it's the last thing we do tonight
This gave me goosebumps. They went a totally different direction... but it totally payed off. the voice in the backround, and his long high scream.... holy fuck, this is good.
I find it intriguing how so many people cling to Neverbloom, while this is imo so much more powerful, given it combines melodic beauty with juicy riffs. I love how this band's music evolves, especially after hearing Worlds Apart
Stop bitching about them becoming softer. If you read the lyrics and pay attention to the music video its pretty obvious they're progressing out of the darkness that some of their older music took place in. They didn't change, they just progressed on their own (and not forced by rise). GREAT song and music video. Vocals killer as usual
After years of waiting to see MTS here in the US, I finally got to see them live this month. I was beyond stoked that they had this on their setlist. This song was my entry point to this incredible band.
This song puts me at peace and gives me goosebumps at the same time. It's the perfect blend of visceral guitar riffs and melodic singing and piano. It flows so well.
Wow. The way they constantly evolve, this is amazing. I'm really impressed with how great the new sound it. Some of the things they're doing in this song totally feel refreshing.
I waited ten years to hear this live. It was worth every second. MTS doesn't come to my state of utah often AT ALL. Only once in the last ten years(until recently)
Currently at work and saw this as a TH-cam recommendation. Holy. Shit. This is hauntingly beautiful both lyrically and instrumentally! Love it and can't wait to hear more of their stuff! :D
okay you know how classical orchestraic music uses sounds to convey emotional feelings? the instrumentals here do this like crazy. there is immense FEELING in the sound alone, not just in the lyrics.
Don't get your panties in a knot. It's good. They took a little bit of a different step like they did with Let Me In. Progression for bands is good because if I kept hearing different renditions of Lord of Woe, I'd probably get really fucking sick of this band. They changed the game so hard with Old Souls and I have no doubt they'll do it again with a new album.
do you guys not get that this song is just them tackling a different style and doing it beautifully as usual? What makes MTS unique is their amazing ability to take on any kind of sound and totally kill it every time. Try to compare "Timeless" with "Fake" - they're two completely different songs with two completely different messages and styles. With this song, Ether, they were going with a more atmospheric and ambient sound, which the music video perfectly exemplifies with the nature imagery and lyrics of life's journey. I can guarantee that every song on this new album will have a different sound and message too, and that this is just the tip of the iceberg for the limits they'll be pushing as a melodic deathcore group.
A message to all the people who say Rise ruined them. Please utilise the things in your head called eyes and maybe read up a little bit on how contracts between bands and labels work. The label pays money towards the recording and mastering. The label reaps profit from the bands success through tours and sales. The bands have all the control over the sound produced, the way the mastering is completed. Everything. So please, keep your comments to yourself if you have nothing nice to say either about the label or the song as I imagine none of you have every worked for either. Rant over.
Just stumbled onto them on Spotify yesterday. I took a break from metal for a few years and I impressed. It all started with After the Burial. So far I'm impressed with this.....ATB....and Fit for an autopsy. I gave up metal 6 years ago because it was so boring. Well, I can't say that anymore.
This has to be one of the most underrated metal songs of the last decade
Most under rated band of the decade.

I fell in love the first time I heard this song. Never heard of this band until now.
Go listen to Elegies, Widower and Threads right now!
Josiah Hunt Okay I will. Have you listened to Tombs? I think they're pretty cool, too. Some of the riffs remind me of Mastodon.

At least I think their song V sounds like Mastodon slightly. I remember listening to it around 4am one night and had me in a trance lol.

thank you for wrapping that up better than i ever could.
The thing about MTS is that they're always trying something new with each release.
that chorus is probably the most beautiful thing these dudes have ever written

Amazing. Louisa's harmonies and piano really always set Make them Suffer apart from other bands in this genre. So good to hear new stuff!
She was amazing 🥺
Miss her but Booka is also cool af.

+Tides of the Bottomless Sea the first single off Old Souls was the relatively soft Let Me In and that album ripped so we should be ok.
Well if you compare neverbloom to old souls, the album structure is so similar yet carrying on their sound in new ways. Hopefully this is how they write this next album. and if their single releases are anything to go by this is the new elegies and let me in type of single.
Michael Ford
Oh yes, i remember how much hate there was on "Let Me In" when they released that single.. and later *puff*, magic.. "Old Souls" album showed us that it's fucking amazing
I personally like Neverbloom, i like the darker but story like lyrics.
This kind of brought back that magical feeling that Elegies gave me.
To anyone who still doesn't get it, if your not familiar too well with MTS and their music, they write concept album or tell stories in their albums, lord of woe and neverbloom were so brutal because it was in the voice of the lord of woe: anger, aggression, hate, and misery. At least someone around is going deeper into exploring the lyrics like me. Thanks dude
I kind of think it might have to do with Japanese mythology, because the lyrics involve a Japanese mythological God. Idk just a hunch I have
+jacob gonzales Izanami and Izanagi are the parents of the gods in this mytchology as far as I checked. Izanami lives in hell and Izanagi in heaven (shit happened and thats how it is now). I really hope its based on Japanese mytchology :D

So just fill your lungs and breathe

do you guys not get that this song is just them tackling a different style and doing it beautifully as usual? What makes MTS unique is their amazing ability to take on any kind of sound and totally kill it every time. Try to compare "Timeless" with "Fake" - they're two completely different songs with two completely different messages and styles. With this song, Ether, they were going with a more atmospheric and ambient sound, which the music video perfectly exemplifies with the nature imagery and lyrics of life's journey. I can guarantee that every song on this new album will have a different sound and message too, and that this is just the tip of the iceberg for the limits they'll be pushing as a melodic deathcore group.
Go!
This fucking song got me into this genre of music, and I still come back to it. Thank you MTS
That chorus is so Deftones ish
deftone feel is all over that. Love it
Deftones ish and i love it so much \m/
I thought it sounded deftoneish
i agree broo
it's the bends in that guitar riff :D
I love this video. The sunset/sunrise colours are incredible.
Izanagi and Izanami reference is pretty low key, but also pretty deep. I dig it
3 years old. It feels like yesterday they dropped this. And I'm still not sick of it.
I'll always keep coming back to this song it's so amazing
Tthe sunset-atmosphere of that video is breathtaking...
Still the band with some of the sickest HIGH VOCALS ive heard😍
Holy fuck these guys are awesome
This album is one of my all time favourites
Amazes me when people are so resistant to a band's evolution. Do you want them to fade away and be forgotten?? This song wrecks!
at first i hated the song, but now i can appreciate that magnificent masterpiece.
not sure how you can hate this but ok lol
Idk why this isnt on worlds apart... this is like the quintessential song of worlds apart
I feel like it should've been the last song on the album. Would've been a beautiful closer.
Rant over.
My god ... what a beautiful landscape on the background. I was thinking about how beauty the clip looks whenever the band implement that.
There is just something special about this song. I cannot quite single it out but it's beautiful.
in 2019 this music still's magic for me
Just stumbled onto them on Spotify yesterday. I took a break from metal for a few years and I impressed. It all started with After the Burial. So far I'm impressed with this.....ATB....and Fit for an autopsy. I gave up metal 6 years ago because it was so boring. Well, I can't say that anymore.
Now I came to know what love at first hear is!!!
make them suffer is too good to be on rise records
Better to rise than not rise at all ...
56 years old :) and by fuck i LOVE this song. plays at earbleed level in my ute :) published on my birthday too
Its............. Beautifull
