    There's nothing left of you.
    so when I left the loop,
    what were you trying to prove?
    You're skin and bones crumbling.
    But now the cloud are parting.
    With blue skies and endless heights,
    so just fill your lungs and breathe.
    Slow it down, just wait.
    Take some time to question life
    while you're young and learning.
    Take it slow, just stay.
    I know it's hard but moving fast,
    you're going to miss the journey.
    Death embrace me, Izanami take me.
    Life embrace me, Izanagi take me home.
    Take me home.
    The earth is coming to life again.
    With blue skies and endless heights,
    so face east to the sunrise.
    This is my resting place, inside my mind.
    you know it's fine to take your time,
    so just fill your lungs and breathe.
    You're skin and bones and crumbling.
    Just know your clock is ticking. It's moving so fast,
    and all the clouds are parting. It's beaming with light,
    so take my hand and trust me,
    because we are going to see the sunrise.
    If it's the last thing we do tonight.

    I have such a connection to this song that has never been matched by anything for me. I first heard it when I was falling asleep listening to music and when I woke up I thought I had dreamt it. I spent the whole next day searching for it. The thing I specifically remembered was the breakdown and I remember how beautiful and dreamy it was, but also how heavy and hard hitting it was and it just made me want to cry. I believe that if there is anything supernatural, or spiritual, music is the gateway to it. I've always had such a strong place in my heart for music and nothing can ever match it.

    To anyone who still doesn't get it, if your not familiar too well with MTS and their music, they write concept album or tell stories in their albums, lord of woe and neverbloom were so brutal because it was in the voice of the lord of woe: anger, aggression, hate, and misery. They were like that because of that specific character, however when old souls came along, the lord of woe was not forgotten but just wasn't the main character anymore there for the mood and story takes a different approach, same thing with time/occasion so like their stories they are moving forward using a different sound to set the mood for the story, lord of woe and neverbloom= aggressive tempered story, old souls= emotional, if you look at the lyrics and stuff they are definitely using more emotions too

    • @jacobgonzales4979
      @jacobgonzales4979 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I kind of think it might have to do with Japanese mythology, because the lyrics involve a Japanese mythological God. Idk just a hunch I have

    • @Back0
      @Back0 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +jacob gonzales Izanami and Izanagi are the parents of the gods in this mytchology as far as I checked. Izanami lives in hell and Izanagi in heaven (shit happened and thats how it is now). I really hope its based on Japanese mytchology :D

    • @anoceanbetweenus89
      @anoceanbetweenus89 8 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      +Vasil Vasilev first time listener of this band here. They are Japanese mythological gods who are a couple. Izanami died and went to hell. Izanagi stayed on earth and tried to bring izanami back from hell but failed. He has continued to try and bring her back. Hence the lyrics are izanami take me and izanagi take me home. They appear to be metaphors for death and life. Imo this song is about taking life as it is and accepting the cycle of life but also being mindful of death. It's quite beautiful in all honesty.

  • @natec2
    @natec2 8 ปีที่แล้ว +100

    Guilty that I read the comments while listening to this track. Everybody saying they sold out, I'm listening now and I don't know what you're bitching about? Lol it still sounds like make them suffer. It's the next instalment of MTS, old souls II. Not Neverbloom. But there will probably be one track on their new album that relates back to Neverbloom like the last album. Progression. Sounds amazing

    • @longpastgone

      Josh Poole yes, but I'm talking about that type of songs, that you can call "heavy, agressive" - which you can compare to most of their other songs. Timeless is something completely different

      Absolutely the most peaceful video you've ever made besides Elegies and Neverbloom. The piano is perfect. Guitars sound off a little. The mix is entirely different from Old souls. I do hope there is at least a few super heavy songs on this next installment. The Well 2 or something other. Weeping wastelands 2. It'd be impossible to throw out your old fans and gain twice as more somewhere else, right? But hey, this does not mean this song is absolutely remarkable, I'm just a little scared. It sounds awesome, just please, don't let yourself die out like all the rest. You've better gift than that. Better heart. Imagine releasing another Neverbloom, would you blow up? Would you die? Or can you already see a different road than us? Guys the song is absolutely beautiful. It's great. Really. Keep doin it if it's what you feel.

If you read the lyrics and pay attention to the music video its pretty obvious they're progressing out of the darkness that some of their older music took place in. They didn't change, they just progressed on their own (and not forced by rise). GREAT song and music video. Vocals killer as usual

    Izanami is the Japanese Godess of Life and Death. So much symbolism here! Seeing the boy throw the rock, reminded me of "casting the first stone" right before the break. Great track and what a great video. Props to the cinematographer on this one. Love these guys.

    do you guys not get that this song is just them tackling a different style and doing it beautifully as usual? What makes MTS unique is their amazing ability to take on any kind of sound and totally kill it every time. Try to compare "Timeless" with "Fake" - they're two completely different songs with two completely different messages and styles. With this song, Ether, they were going with a more atmospheric and ambient sound, which the music video perfectly exemplifies with the nature imagery and lyrics of life's journey. I can guarantee that every song on this new album will have a different sound and message too, and that this is just the tip of the iceberg for the limits they'll be pushing as a melodic deathcore group.

    It's literally slightly heAvier ABR plus Northlake plus Deftones. As a huge fan of Old Souls, and a fan of Neverbloom, I can say I still enjoy this. It's not really MTS though. At least in the verses and chorus. The breakdown was brutal though. Hoping this isn't a whole album tone though. I do like it, but it doesn't feel like MTS. sounds great tho. Hyped to see them w/ architects!

    A message to all the people who say Rise ruined them. Please utilise the things in your head called eyes and maybe read up a little bit on how contracts between bands and labels work.
    The label pays money towards the recording and mastering. The label reaps profit from the bands success through tours and sales.
    The bands have all the control over the sound produced, the way the mastering is completed. Everything.
    So please, keep your comments to yourself if you have nothing nice to say either about the label or the song as I imagine none of you have every worked for either.
    Rant over.

    • @maxthescarecrow4038
      @maxthescarecrow4038 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ciclopea2 Oh, don't even mention them to me. My school is filled with shits that listen to that, trap, dubstep (yes, they still listen to that) and shitty Serbian turbo-folk or Serbian folk (not as interesting as it may sound). In translation and in order- music for junkies, music for shallow assholes, music for people still stuck in 6th grade even though they are 18-19 now and music for unintellingent, alcoholic, shallow pieces of shit that see music only as a way to get drunk and not as an art form.
      Not to mention how they act all high and mighty and belittle my music taste. If I started explaining them the good old "glass houses" saying they would look at me like I was fucking insane and on a ton of drugs. That's the level of IQ those people possess. I am not saying that everyone who listens to EDM or those genres of music is like that, but I am yet to meet a more intelligent one.
      As sidetracked as my point may have gotten, yeah, the song doesn't need a heavy breakdown even if the band falls under a certain genre that is known for them.

      this song is good, but I believe this music is metalcore, therefore many people who are into metal will shun people who listen to metalcore as many metal fans equate listening to metalcore to be the same as listening to cringy rap music/ dubstep and all that shit, personally I like metalcore, I understand the hate (however I really dislike nu/rap metal). I like nearly all genres of metal, my favorite being thrash metal and melodic/symphonic death metal.

    • @Kvysvr
      @Kvysvr 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      People have to be more open and experiment with some other types of music, when you're a kid you just listen to the same as your friends or parents or whatever. When you grow up you should try to listen other genres and experiment with the music. Maybe you don't like some genres "that's normal", but maybe due to listening something you don't like you discover another you do like.
      For example I like Hardstyle, Techno or Traditional Japanese music but I enjoy too listen to groups like :
      Harakiri For the Sky, Knocked Loose or Rise of The Northstar.
      In my opinion those who just listen to mainstream/viral music or are closed to just one genre and quite close-minded.

      its not just your opinion it's simple fact, that these people lag individuality. There wouldnt be a point in seperating ourselves into many individuals if all were the same its a paradox, those people just dont understand life yet.
