Fun fact about the Tatra RT6. The RT6 series is based on the second generation French Standard Tram. When they were building the fast tram line, RT6 N1 trams were ordered to run on it. The trams had problems during development so they imported the DUWAG models and allowed the Konstals to run instead. After the Tatras were introduced, the RT6 N1s continued to have multiple issues during revenue service. They were ultimately banned from the fast tram, and then had an overhaul done by Modertrans. From overhauling the trams, Modertrans has knowledge about the RT6 series. Every city which used to operate the RT6 series now exports the trams to Poznań because we know how to fix them. By the way, this is not the original motor as they also had issues. Here is a video of an unmodernised RT6 N1 running in Brno th-cam.com/video/58BzYWLMXeI/w-d-xo.html
Nice video. There are several more types of trams in Poznań, however they are only in single copies. We have few historic vehicles, serving as tourist attractions. Also there are 2 prototypes of Moderus Gamma from Modertrans, different than any other in Poznań ;) Last thing is, that Duwags and some of Moderus Gamma trams are bidirectional.
The Tatra and Siemens trams have been modernised. Tatras were very unreliable and got modded by Modertrans, but they've gone for an interesting sounding drive system and still have character. Siemens trams were modded recently by Saatz which did quite a poor job with Skoda 16T trams from Wrocław, but it seems like these perform better. The Düwags were supposed to be replaced by Moderus Gammas but 3 bi directional units were left in service to be used mainly for replacement routes.
3:30 The name of the company is Modertrans, like in transport. It's named for modernising and repairing public transport vehicles: trams and buses. Though they make only trams.
@@UnusualStickmenMoviesModerus Alfa was aktually modernized Konstal. Moderus Beta was new tram, based on Konstal platform, with low flor secion. Moderus Gamma is completele new low flor tram, not based on Konstal any more.
Acceleration on that metrotram certainly beats the M5000 in Manchester for sure... wonder if they'll think of a high platform level floor version of this for the train-tram to Leigh 😂😂
@@benolifts Well, my comment was influenced by the fact that the only metro in Poland is just underground and we usually imagine metro as not being on the surface. But the problem is that the route isn't fully separated from cars and pedestrians. The tracks between Dworzec Zachodni and Os. Sobieskiego are, except for the two pedestrian crossing at the Most Dworcowy stop.
@@amadeosendiulo2137 Most Dworcowy stop is not on the path of PST (fast tram). PST does not have any road or passage that would cross it. Always goes above or under.
@@amadeosendiulo2137 But Most Dworcowy stop is not between Most Teatralny and Dworzec Zachodni. It is on the paralell, regular tram track, few meters above PST. And Most Dworcowy itself is a bridge, above PST track.

Very nice video, love the Tatra trams in Poland

Great video
Very nice trams. Lovely livery as well. I do like trams in Poland and in other countries in Europe.
I love how the poles holding the tram power wires is like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ lol
10:55 sounds a bit like an S stock

My city :D
The "metro tram section" is two tram stops LARBping as metro stations, hehe.
I count the entire route east of Poznania as the metro tram
