The best new feature is being able to see if a monster is a Large or Small crown via the binoculars.
wow finally a use for the binos O_O
the focus mode tcs redirection is crazy
It’s also fairly awkward to aim in combat - because you’re holding triangle to charge a TCS you have to use your left hand to tilt the right thumbstick while holding L2
@@Zenitect lmao, know what the 'claw' is?
@@Watari167 Ah, years of playing on 3DS and WiiU has finally paid off. The claw gaming is back 🔥
@@Watari167who the hell wants their fingers in a krab position to play a controller 😂 stick to warzone buddu
@@Watari167 I’m no stranger to the claw, I’m just not good at doing it haha. Gotta pour one out for our fellow hunters with small hands
That wake up chop and using using focus mode to redirect is revolutionary i be missing it sometimes or hitting them early
IG now has an invincible backwards vault and two air dashes, and can cancel a helicopter into descending thrust. Combine that with brand-new lateral movement in ground combos using Focus Stance, and we're eating insanely good. We traded air time for air mobility and damage. I couldn't be happier.
Where did you get the Info of the invincible vault from? I am really interested in IG but so far it semed to be the only weapon without a defensive Option (perfect block, offset move or counter attack).
I still think they could have kept one bounce in there
I think lateral attacks are not limited to focus mode, it's just left/right input during combo
Your thumb nail looks like,
"Monster Hunter Wii"
Which had me like, wut? For a hot second.
I really hope we can get the bounce back with a deco or something. Them killing aerial glaive is so depressing
Dude i didnt even think about this, such a good idea
This is THE best solution to this. They clearly didn’t want the bounce coming back in the same form, it was never going to get added by demand, but maybe they’ve heard us and will add a jewel.
the only new cool move of IG is the rising spiral slash which you can see on 1:53, but do you see that? super low damage and 80% of the hits are misses because of the rising animation made it so that the player are wayyyy above the monster. good job capcom
@@ABIADAB Yeah, honestly I think that them gutting the aeriel playstyle is going to result in the IG being used significantly less.
Most other weapons had massive QoL improvements and buffs done, or they at least maintained a really fun playstyle. IG doesn't seem to be much better for the most part, and had a lot of the fun stripped away.
@@ABIADAB "consumes and collects essences" suggests it's designed around utility, not damage. Also, any veteran monster hunter could tell you that there are a lot of monsters that move would slap the shit out of. So I agree, great job Capcom
Seeing how much more interesting or exciting all of the weapons have gotten in Wilds, at this point I'm pretty convinced that I should randomly choose two weapons every week and hunt with every weapon!
im planning on doing EVERY hunt with a different weapon, name my character the avatar, and have my guild card show equal uses on every weapon
This is the way
@@cow12344 That's gonna be an extremely expensive play style lol
@@Ikadyne I think it actually might make it more fun, I would actually have to think about where I would spend my materials
@@cow12344 ywah you could do somwtbbing like choosing one monster per weapon, or planning out a few elements for each weapon and finding armor aets that are as flexible as possible
I was already set on playing hunting horn and sns when they revealed double weapons. Seeing the glow ups they both received is amazing.
1:53 are we allowed to attack/have additional actions after the rising spiral slash? I really hope so.....the end lag for that move seems enormous.
Iirc you can do a midair dodge after casting it
You have all the actions available
You can do any midair action (except descending thrust since you won't have red for it). It's just that in most footage the player mashes the attack button then falls to the ground unspectacularly.
@argentum1738 aw, that sucks! Rising spiral to descending thrust woulda been a sick combo!
@@AdAce21I believe you can go into aerial focus strike and replenish all buffs too
Uth Doona is the new BBW.
Big Beautiful Wyvern ❤
😂 She is tho ❤
As long as this game is completely optimized for the base PS5 and I don't need to buy a pro just to enjoy everything in this game then I am totally happy
I can’t wait to play Sword and Shield in Wilds, it looks so aggressive and fun
My excuse would probably be that I'm tired from hunting all day :3
2:04 People said Longsword is the "favourite child of monster hunter weapons"?
Have they not seen the Bow showcase?!
Kudos for alternating between weapon specific and general.
hoping the best longsword playstyle is riding out red gauge with crimson slash combos and then finishing red gauge with the helmbreaker
Nice to know kinsect slash is kinda back via midair focus strike, but no bounce is still a major fun killer. Aerial IG in Sunbreak was literally my all time favorite MH playstyle. Seeing it gone REALLY hurts.
Not sure when they will give us the demo, probably around Christmas, I doubt it
Didn’t they do that for world and/or iceborne 🤔
A demo yes they did, but not sure when they did that, I started Iceborne in 2020 so I'm late to the party at the time
@@ultimafire2001i don’t need a demo for this game i will buy it anyway
They basically change the insect glaive into a fantasy magical flashy spear, which isn't too bad imo. But I hope we can get that bounce back somehow through deco or sumthin
I’m a Gunlance purist but man Sword n Shield is looking saucy, may have to give it a try when Wilds comes out!
I’m too excited to ONLY use the hammer and get my BONK on!

@@m.conner3037 I’ve never used the HH before :) do you enjoy it?
We can see you here Ryozo! 😅
It is funny that the Sword and Shield has more Aerial Combat options than the Insect Glaive. that being said, My most excited for the world, I loved how alive World felt, so I'm more excited for the environmental changes, and diversity. Making the game feel more alive is always a huge on for me, I love that stuff.
Gutting IG's aerials is like removing CB guardpoints (I play both) both weapons are real easy and repettitive once they click but the skill expression from aerial mauneverability and guardpointing is what keeps them fresh and creative
Big difference is that guard points are actually useful while staying in the air doing no damage does nothing at all.
@@malacara1335 Good to know maintaining some level of dps on airborne flying wyverns and elder dragons while they have all their good hitzones like thirty feet off the ground "does nothing".
All the anti-helicopter glaive people seem to forget that alongside making sure the flying bastards couldn't catch any sort of break, helping break otherwise hard to reach bodyparts like wings and backs, and just generally being a useful "offensive mobility" asset, the little bounce was also what let glaive combo a helicopter spin into the downward spin for mounting and the downward thrust which was one of the glaive's hardest hitting attacks in 5th gen, not to mention making it easier to get to the bodyparts we wanted to hit with those heavier-hitting attacks.
Guard points require timing and skill to execute, and block incoming damage.
Aerials require almost nothing and negate most damage by simply putting you out of the monster's reach for free.
@@emperortethysusdacertified8175 Yeah most rising attacks from any other weapon deal 10 times the damage aerial IG does.
All this video showed me is that, as a primary sns main and secondary db main, we are gonna be eatin well in Wilds💪😁
the weapons look so amazing i want to play at least 5 of them, how can i choose between bow, hbg, ls, sa and ig? 😅
I guess im gonna main all weapon in Wilds
I almost main most of weapon in Sunbreak 😂 and all weapons looks cooler
Hope the insect glaive is good. Poor thing seems to be doing less and less every game
I’d argue that it’s the opposite.
@@KatanaJoelleLandt in terms of new moves I guess. But each game has been taking out his main gimmick little by little. GU made all weapons aerial, World made GS and hammers better mounting weapons than a IG, Rise didnt even had mounting, and wild is removing the aerial mode by taking out the bounce. Not to mention the nerfs it has received in damage in between games. I just hope they at least give the earplugs when full nectar again. Unlike world which removed that feature.
IG is just in a weird spot, where it wants to be an aerial weapon but doesn’t have the damage to get fast mounts like GS and hammers do. They need to change that way mounts work to how it was in 4U where all weapons could mount but they needed to work much harder to get it, rather than just doing a big aerial damage number and quickly mount it. They have to make IG better at what it was designed to do.
@@zequi007 *have*

As a great sword main. I know I'll still miss those wake up hits and my family will flame me.
I will say that being that i didnt like how IG worked in world i will be trying it out first in wilds, as i am a SW main i will keep that on me at all times as well
"Sorry hunting bros, I didn't miss that TCS, chatGPT was playing for me while I ate some snacks. AI missed, not me."
yeah they just removed all of the skill expression from the weapon. Ant good hunter will be just as good with the weapon as a GS main, just sad
@@F-aber a lot of weapons got these kinda changes, but the developers said that it was due to the changes they were making to the monsters (i.e. faster, more mobile) so it'll balance out with difficulty i hope
@@impossible9092 sure the game overall might be harder, but that doesn’t change the fact that it looks like they removed any potential for skill expression with the GS, all the difficulty stuff is universal, so any player will adapt to those. And while other weapons might also be getting stronger or a bit easier to use, the great sword was already easy to use so now it’s just brain dead.
@@F-aber I still don't think you need to worry about the weapon becoming too easy to pick up, it has always had an enormous end-lag for its attacks which hasn't changed in wilds. In my opinion managing end-lag is where most of the skill of the weapon comes from. But I also will miss those moments when the monster perfectly moves into my poorly aimed TCS
@@impossible9092 maybe you are right, I guess we will see in a few months when the demo releases or after the full game comes out, but for now I will be skeptical
We never missing a TCS again with this one bois 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣
and now the weapon is super brain dead and has no skill expression anymore lets gooooooooo
People are being overly negative about the IG changes. I think it's going to be great.
I'm pretty excited about them. Felt too floaty before but these changes look great!
I think the changes for the ig are great but it does suck for some people that aerial combat isn’t in this game, maybe there is be a deco for it but I’m generally happy with the ig in wilds.
I'm glad you like it but that doesn't mean people are being overly negative lol. They took a beloved play style away after all
@@musicarain4702 I disagree. People haven't even had a chance to test it for themselves yet and they've already reached the conclusion that they hate it, over 1 bounce? They should at least wait for the demo... even then, we're only a fraction of the LS community's population, and it's not even the WHOLE IG community that plays exclusively aerial (no stats at all, TBH). If a small portion of the overall MH community throws a fit, does that mean Capcom has to listen? Some people might be butthurt enough over these changes to quit the weapon, even if it means an overall healthier gameplay experience. If people do stop using it over this then did they even like the weapon itself? Or was it just what they were able to do with it? Wilds might still scratch that itch with its verticality and the seikret, though.
@@randyg280 I barely spend any time on the ground when I play insect glaive. That to me is one of, if not the most fun play styles in the games. Seems like they've basically made the weapon redundant for me but at least they've made most other weapons look more fun.
I have the suspicion that making builds in this game is gonna make my google sheet drive triple in weight.
Cant wait for sync montages 😅
I thought you would also mention the nerf to the TCS of the greatsword since it's a similar change as the longsword spirit gauge nerf
Wait what? Whats the nerf?
@@JustAFishBeingAFish the TCS will be weaker than in world or rise. It only does slightly more damage than the strong charge slash now so focusing less on the TCS and more one the first two slashes might be the way to go in Wilds
@@adgkadgk wow thats awful I might have to switch weapons
so by reducing the damage of the longsword gauges, they are making the original style of longsword do less damage to force people to use more helmbreakers.
gotcha
Helmbreakers were already the most optimal damage you should be striving for anyway.
"Force" is an interesting word, you don't have to use it if you don't want to. You're not speedrunning.
@@Shilobotomized @Shilobotomized you are right, we probably don't have to, but the weaker they make the old style of playing longsword the less versatile it becomes.
you didn't need to weaken monsters with clutch claw or spam it into the wall either in iceborne but hunts would tend to take longer and it would feel like you are wasting more of your time.
just because players aren't speedrunning doesn't mean they want to take twice the time per hunt or at the very least feel like they are holding their team back.
What excuse you are using on the day of release 😂 comment below
hoping theres a demo on any platform
The only thing I wanted from GS was to keep surge slash combo. It was so nice and all the moves were stylish but not so over the top that they can't be in the more slow mainline games.
honestly would recommend trying to find a different thumbnail format that doesn't obscure the text as much. completely looks like it just says "Monster Hunter Wii", so i thought this was a vid on tri until i read the title lol.
with all the aerial stuff gone from insect glaive lets hope the damage is cracked like in 4u 😂
It wouldn't surprise me if the Insect Glaive aerial dancing is a deco or weapon skill or something tbh.
@@Kimtroverted
That would be some bull if they nerfed the glaive and made it's gimmick a deco
@@Kimtroverted imagine adding a deco that makes it so your play style becomes subpar again.
@@Kimtroverted We can pray
what I want is the ability to sprint with light weapon, like the SnS, not just the Dual Blade Demon Mode.
my heart actually sank
I mained insect glaive in 4U but dropped it in world because i didnt like how the aerial aspect of it felt. I'm so glad that it's more grounded with the aerial parts reworked.
Same, they cry about how it loses players but don't understand that at the same time it will gain a lot of players because of these changes. I am actually going to main the weapon now.
The damage of aerial glaive was so bad too. Like, oh no they removed the part of the glaive that did no damage. Now I can't fight late game monsters with it, OH WAIT YOU NEVER COULD
Only Rise had good aerial glaive combat with the kinsect slash, and even still grounded glaive was best (though much closer than in World)
@@elk3407 Yes you could. People made builds that were centered around aerial damage.
Search: "MHW: Iceborne - The Flying Bombardier Insect Glaive Build!" This build puts out good damage late game.
Do we know yet if Offset attacks always proc a stagger? I hope not... that would be way too powerful, every weapon would just fish for offset staggers at all times
I think they do, but first of, not all weapons have an offset attack. Only GS, Hammer, HH, HBG and the SA and they arent as easy to time as let's say those LS counters.
i get the changes to GS are kinda cool and part of me likes them, but i really question were the skill expression is supposed to be coming from? What knowledge or skill is supposed to make a good hunter thats a greatsword main better with the weapon than another good hunter that just switched to the weapon for a couple hours. To me it seems that any good hunter will be just as good with the greatsword as any good greatsword main, while you wouldnt expect that to be the case for pretty much any other weapon.
It's not like they sped the attacks up. You can just aim them now lol, the skill expression will come from learning the monsters movesets as it always has
You think turning the attack makes the monster suddenly not attack you mid charging because you messed up the timing and read the monster wrong?
For a moment there I thought Monster Hunter will release on the Wii because of the thumbnail 😂
how often do you want to talk about the same things? xD
IG changes still look lame. That new attack doesn't do anywhere NEAR the right damage for what it's supposed to be. Longsword's helmbreaker still SHREDS even after the nerf.
I feel bad for IG mains.
We'll manage
You should probably just wait til it's out to make such brash accusations. Such a doomer.
@@muse0583 agreed
That move isn't a damage move it's a utility move
So, Sword and Shield is now the aerial weapon instead of the Insect Glaive
As a Great Sword main, I do not like having the ability to just redirect a TCS. It takes away the risk and reward aspect of the attack. Also, they nerfed its damage hard in return for being able to do this.
Any GS player who already wasn't missing many attacks in World is only gonna be receiving the nerf, not the "upgrade"
Literally what the fuck is their plan here? Are they trying to incentivise using TCS more or using it less?
Essentially they just lowered the skill ceiling
@@distion yeah it’s going to make the weapon feel less fun to use
I played the hell out of World. Came back after a year and can’t do a damn thing right lol
(insect glaive main)
I really don't get the long sword hate. who cares. every weapon is the best weapon in the right hands anyway. who cares if its a "anime" weapon. Whatever that even really means. It has some flashy "samurai" moves. so what? the dual blades are literally doing the attack on titan spin down monsters backs(yes I know monster hunter is older than AOT. I'm just pointing out how "anime and weeb" that move is. its still cool.)
in regards to the nerf. Well we will just have to see. IIRC rise bow was dog piled on for being "bad" pre release then people just stomped with it.
The longsword hate doesn't come from the stylistic choices, but more so from the weapon being so powerful. A lot of players agree that the longsword takes considerably less skill to put out just as much, if not more, DPS than any other weapon.
This leads to a disproportionate number of "low-skill" players using the weapon, and not being pushed to improve as a result of the weapon being easy to use.
This leads to the meme of the clueless longsword main attacking the monster's head instead of focusing on a tail cut, and repeatedly tripping the hammer main trying to KO the monster.
The hate may not be totally deserved, but the salt is understandable.
Great Video keep it Going One new feature i would like ask the Monster Hunter producers would be if we could have costumize Body Tattoos like neck, midriff, and thigh tatts would be nice. Or any part of the body thats appropriate.
I'm just now noticing that the new railgun wyvern is using the exact same skeleton and moveset as gore/shagaru in sunbreak
edit: not complaining, I love wyverns built like gore. I just hope gore is coming back since its skeleton and moves are clearly in the game.
@@20twelvibes36 It's not though? It's the standard flying wyvern rig with what looks to be modified Astalos attack animations.
@@emperortethysusdacertified8175 the slams and the downwards projectile in the air are exact copies from Gore, I fought afflicted gore too many times to not recognize it, it only looks slightly different because of the lack of gores extra limbs
That change to the insect glaive actually has vhanged my mind on even using it in wilds guess im gonna be weaponless :(
time to become a man
My excuse will be i am not using a great sword, and I didn't wake the monster lol
Everyone is gonna be eating good
This game is getter wild!
How is the framerates Of MHW?
Lets go HAMMER BROS
Wbts the meaning of offset attack?
I believe it means you won't be knocked out of the animation
It means if timed correctly and with specific monster animations. You can offset them and push them back. Knocking them off of their feet essentially. It's a new mechanic for some of the heavier weapons.
i hate the new greatsword charge and focus mode redirect, it's too little commitment too easy, also i've heard rumors in kind they nerfed it's damage, all of this is the last thing many greatsword mains would want.
missing the wakeup TCS in Wilds is now a real skill issue xD
what in the attack on tittan move was that!!!????
Where is the TGS live stream????????????
I can‘t find the day 5 special stream 😢

Asking for a nerf of a weapon in a PvE game just because nobody uses your favorite weapon is clown activity at is finest.
Sooo paintballs are just a range ping in adition to our old ping got it
Glaivebros, they can't keep getting away with this!
What in the world is a offset move?
New type of attack in wilds. When you land an offset attack just as you're about to get hit, you'll knock the monster off balance allowing for a counterattack. The weapons with offset attacks (that we know of) are great sword, HBG, hunting horn, switch axe, and hammer.
@@argentum1738 Aaah, thank you :)
Gunlance for life. ❤
I hope Capcom doesn't lock High Rank behind multiplayer like they did with Rise :(
What do you mean? I played 99,99% of rise entirely solo(only quest I required help was rampage with elder dragon). I played it on playstation if that matters
@@User1273- you have to use the hub to achieve high rank, you can't do it from solo quests alone. It's soloable, but at a much higher difficulty than the actual solo quests.
@@ShadowDrakkenRise was my first monster hunter game and i felt like the high rank quests are not that big of a jump in terms of difficulty from low rank. I played base game Rise all solo and as long as you have proper equipments and match the enemy's elemental weaknesses to your choice of weapon, it should not be too hard.
That said, i do agree that World did the whole low rank/high rank better since it's from the same menu which is easier to do and not be so convoluted.
@@samuel.jpg.1080p I've been playing a fair bit longer than Rise, and I feel like Rise does it worse than most of the series, that's my real issue. But the portable games are also where Capcom experiments more and tests things out before putting them into the main line games. That's why Rise is so weird in so many places.
Also on the power difference, solo quests in Rise at 6 stars, are about the same difficulty as 4 star Hub quests.
Unpopular opinion: Aerial insect glaive was not that good.
Do you still know what agro complete word is?
thanks
I had stick drift😂
I HATE the fact that longsword has fallen even further into this anime like design philosophy, and yes I really hate that we can cancel out of helm breaker, and yes I am a longsword main!!!
I think it's actually an interesting idea though, helm breaker doesn't do nearly as much damage and you can cancel it, but now you have spirit release as a helm breaker follow up which is where the real damage is but requires far more commitment then just a helm breaker in world (spirit release also uses a spirt level as far as I know)
prepare to too have 100,000 carts to your own hammer attack... I dont like that at ALL.
6300 missions only glaive and wilds needs work asap!
I will say I'm excited for Wilds. I know I haven't played as long as you veteran fans, as my first game was MH4U then World: Iceborne, Generations and finally Rise. I was disappointed in Rise when I couldn't upgrade my kinsect, but I hope in Wilds I can upgrade the kinsect. I am a Glaive, Gunlance, C.B and H. Bowgun main. I do hope to see many hunters out there. I may even pre-order.
Sun was in my eye
Overall I like the wilds changes. But I really am not a fan of focus mode repositioning. As someone who only played mhw I found learning the combat to take some time and part of the learning process was how you often couldn't turn mid combo. I guess it makes the game easier for new players but I feel like it takes away character from specific weapons which required effort into positioning before a combo.
Makes more sense though. In a fight you're not going to be like: "Oh, the monster's behind me now, lemme just keep slashing forwards" You'd pivot on your heel to redirect where you're focusing. Feels like it'll end up making more dynamic and reactive fights, that allow for monsters to be significantly more dangerous at higher rank since the devs don't need to pump the brakes on a monster's mobility to accomodate the unwieldiness of the weaponry.
@@Kimtroverted This. So much this. I understand why people were weirded out but it’s an increase in fluidity to fights, which is what they’ve been going for since World launched. I feel like everyone is still thinking that we’re going to be fighting at World pace, though, when it definitely looks like we’ll be more mobile.
@@TrippyTimesTwoif the monsters in this game are anywhere near as active as they are in sunbreak endgame, I am fully welcoming these changes lol
The aerial attack is the reason why I use the IG. Why did they removed it 😢😢
Why are they missing the first tcs attack that gives you bonus damage on the secondary hit
Because you don't want to wake up the monster with the first attack, that does less damage.
Do you not know attacks deal more damage when they wake up a sleeping monster?
Remove the GS 180 redirection but give me offset rising slash option during a charge tackle to TCS combo. That is I can cancel into offset. I don’t see any reason to use the offset rising slash compared to tackle so far
Nerf culture needs to go away. I dont even use the long sword but always cringe when nerf culture finds its way into gaming. Some of us rely on long sword users and to nerf them is bring stress to our squad!!!!
I dont necessarily mind the nerf to spirit guage damage boost. But it is definitely moving further and further away from maxing the guage out and sustaining damage in favor of a spend your guage playstyle
damn
Man, I am soooooo stoked for this one. Those SnS changes, 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻.
the Weeb Stick will still be the top weapon.
damn thats a disgusting ls nerf, 10% less damage at red gauge is crazy.
I thought it was harsh, but it’s definitely worth remembering 2 things: Helmbreaker has a HIGHER DAMAGE follow-up, which is insane imo, and when in red bar most of your basic attacks deal multiple instances of damage. I assume 10% less being dealt 3 times in red gauge probably evens out
thats what happens, when they listen to crybabies, who want this weapon gone out of hate.
@@TrippyTimesTwo idk i thought it was balanced enough that red gauge is now on a 45 second timer and needs cpnstant upkeeping or needs to be spent asap before you lose it.
@@theboomshroom1865 Like I said I think it’s harsh, bringing it down 5% probably would’ve sufficed, but time will tell. Red being on a 45s timer is nbd really, if you spam helmbreakers you’re always up keeping the gauge anyway.
my favorite new feature is an assumption that shock absorber from will be in Wilds
getting fucking sick of you LS mains going *RIGHT* where i am and destroying any combos i had going
otherwise, find your *OWN DAMN SPOT DUDE*
Well, especially for what I’m using currently, EVERYTHING is critical based. So I NEED to be hitting a weak spot for maximum affinity. If there’s a pre-tenderized or already wounded spot, I’m going for it. Flinch free jewels are only rarity 6 and take up such a minor slot in your armour, I always run one going into multiplayer, highly recommend.
Flinch free bro, it solves all your problems at the cost of a lvl 1 decoration
If you're doing multiplayer, use flinch free. I get flinched most of the time with my SnS build that don't have flinch free and I'm not blaming other people for it. It's the consequence of your chosen build and why you play multiplayer.
And noo new weapons
I love how long sword videos still only show them going for head attacks, confirming that LS users still don't know how their weapon works
Everyone goes for the head because it's the best hitzone. If there was a reason to go for anything else after severing the tail then you wouldn't see every speedrunner focus the head. It makes me happy seeing all the blademasters with FF absolutely going to town on the head while the hammer mains gets trampled for stacking nothing but damage skills
@@higgsbosonfan even body shots and wings are better for long sword to hit, but I guess your ideals are part of the problem, since your saying long sword users are everyone else's problem and take no responsibility... cause they do nothing wrong
@@BestTroIl first off blaming LS when half the weapon roster are tripping hazards proves this is a vendetta. All blademasters have the same hitzone targets, and that weakpoint is more often than not the head. IDK why they made these weak points available in game when it seems the community is incapable of reading them.
@@higgsbosonfan it's not really a vendetta, I'm a Bowgunner so I am not affected by LS users, but hunts as a whole are affected by them, at least with other blade masters it shows them doing things other than head strikes, it's the fact that LS clips are nearly exclusively attacking the head
A lot of new players don’t realize this so I don’t blame you, but if you google kiranico hit zones you can actually see the values for each part of the monster, and the head is (almost) always the zone that’s weakest to hits.
This, coupled with the fact that LS builds usually focus on high affinity and part of that comes from a massive boost to affinity when attacking weak spots, like the head, means that it is typically most efficient to go for the head.
can't wait to ignore all those mechanics to simply play shotgunner lmao.
Still tho these changes are crazy and well needed.
I'm not really vibing with these weapon changes. Everything else is great, but I get the feeling that the weapons are getting more lenient, you're given more room to fail without being punished.
Finally GS is officially the weapon that takes the least skill in the game! No need for monster knowledge - no need for positioning - no need to know the distance of tcs! and apart from that theres no skill requirements to the GS lmao / Honestly a bit sad because watching GS pros position a TCS where there monster is about to be has to have been some of the most satisfying moments in MH history ...
Except that GS isn't only TCS, and the changes don't remove the importance of positioning. Monsters can and will still flinch you while you're TCSing, and the best HZVs won't always be reachable without proper positioning.
Bro saw one QoL change for a weapon and called it no skill. I swear half the community needs to fucking chill
Tbh most of my GS whiffs come from a monster leaving range not going to the side or behind me. The focus mode being able to swing with better aiming is nice but it won't be as big of a crutch as most people think.
How many hunts do you have with GS?
@@TheSquidProQuo for real. People see focus mode and say on and on how skill and repositioning is dead like Jesus Christ
Don't know if making all sorts of moves less punishing is the right way to go, the game should be challenging, after all.
I hope the monsters are being buffed considerably as well, so they can cope with all the new mechanics and increased manoeuvrability.
If it's anything like sunbreak, the monsters will be Wild
Id rather have my normal TCS without a nerf. I don’t need mid reposition
Ok but there was no Nerf mentioned?
@@TheSquidProQuo apparently the actual damage is lower now
@@F-aberI can't find a source saying this
They keep taking things away from the insect glaive and it's pissing me off. They did add some stuff, yeah, but why are you taking the old stuff away?! Look at long sword.... they make sure that the older moves are now cohesive with the new ones and even making the new ones an extension of the old moves. Its annoying please stop fucking with insect glaive man
