What a fantastic way to engage the audience, not just by highlighting which foods can enhance or hinder gut health, but also by delving into the deeper benefits of each one. Brilliant, Dr. Gundry! 😊

Kiwis have oxalates - these can be used with a fasting protocol and re-mineralization efforts. It can be done occasionally alone with an off cycle of several days.

Pomegranate is now available a lot more often here in USA. I have been able to buy it every week for several months now. I need to look at where it is coming from when out of season.

Oldest vinary dates back to 8000years found in Georgia, they still make it the same way. In terracotta underground jars. I watched from the vinary.

Gotta love your choices, Doc! And get this: olives (and pickles) are now available online and FERMENTED! Also, you can get fermented beets and some fruits in powder form AND, pomegranates also in powder form (non-fermented) for your smoothies, etc. (Too bad one couldn't fit mushrooms into your game somewhere and perhaps leeks, onions, and garlic too!) All the best.

All olives are fermented to some extent, type of fermentation and time varies upon the variety of olive. It's part of the process to make them edible

Dr. Gundry - I stumbled on your “way to health” about 3 years ago and adopted an OMAD lifestyle containing everything you recommend and have been shocked by my transformation (so are all of my doctors - my typical 10-15 minute visits to adjust my meds have transformed into 1 hour sessions because they want to know what I am doing since I no longer require any meds). I ferment a large amount of my foods - slaws, yogurts, vinegars, and meats. I do have one question concerning pomegranates - I take a pure juice and turn it into a wonderful vinegar. Does this negate the benefits of the whole fruit?

Are pickled beets better than cooked beets? Not sure if they are a fermented food or just put in the liquid. I find it difficult to like raw beets, but pickled they are delicious! Thanks Doc

What is the best way to purchase Oysters? I see them in the can, but I don't see much of them that are listed as "Wild Caught" or "Organic" to represent being raised with better food sources. I love the taste of oysters.

There's one thing I want to say about beats. In some northern roads they use beats on the highway as in beat juice. If you cook a beat and put it in the freezer after it's cold you don't notice that it will not freeze the it sits beat juice does not freeze but if you freeze the beat itself it becomes rubbery. And when I used to pickle beats, I used to love them but not anymore. Grow your own beats and cut off. The big tops because they are so nutritious as you probably already know. But i'm sure we all need to know more😂. Sorry when my beats come out of the ground.I am going to wash it off with the hose.I won't scrub them and I won't you soap but I will put them in a boiling water which will kill all the bacteria and all the germs.

Kiwis are very high in sugar (exceptionally high in fructose) so you should really only have one kiwi per day, so you will get the benefits without the load of sugar. Gold kiwis have more sugar than green ones.
