    I’m french native from Canada (Québec), and the reason why there’s no learning France french or Canadian french etc is because you always start by learning « universal / international » french. Local expressions may vary but all the basic grammar and words are the same everywhere. Accent do vary a LOT tho and it is common curtesy to use a international accent and dictionary vocabulary while speaking to someone from an other country or native to an other language.
    You accent is REALY good btw!!! It’s stop on the France accent!

    So excited for this series!!! I was wondering if you get confused and mix up French and Spanish now that you're trying to speak both? I've been learning Italian for a few years and anytime I try to switch back to learning French I keep using Italian words everywhere.

      I learned Spanish for 3 years in high school and a semester in college. Then after the semester of Spanish I took Mandarin for a year. For the longest time my brain would only think about the words in Spanish instead of Mandarin and I thought it was so weird... I grew up bilingual (English and Tagalog) and never had troubles mixing up the languages.
      Later on I learned German and have long forgotten Mandarin, but each time I couldn't think of the word in German it came to me in Spanish 😅😭 I think having lived in California and being surrounded by Spanish had a big role in that cuz when I moved to a German speaking country that stopped LOL
      Now I have a Spanish speaking patient and I now mix German into our conversation... but that's also my daily language now 😅
      in short, our brains our weird... but I think with enough time being immersed in the language we stop confusing them. Good luck with your language journey 😇

    Wow that’s such a good question. Maybe because South America has been colonized longer by the Spanish so Latino Spanish is more established? Or maybe because in Latina America Spanish is the only official language whereas in Africa or Canada, French is only one of the many language used? I would love to hear the answer as well

    Emi, you said that you never heard about anybody who wanted to learn Canadian French. Well, here is one of them. I want to learn Canadian French because I live in Montreal. I use Pimsleur and it teaches Metropolitan French but in Montreal there are some differences in pronunciation, expressions etc. And obviously European French is of no use for me here.

    12:13 creo que es porque el español es un idioma que se habla como idioma principal en muchoss paises, casi toda America ( as a continent ) y creo que eso solo ocurre con español, no hay ningun otro idioma asi creo, en ingles por ejemplo hay varios tipos de accentos pero el acento como ''estandar'' es el americano, en español no pasa lo mismo, no hay como acentos estandar, solo hay acentos populares, que vendrian a ser mexico, españa y argentina

    • @enriquecerros
      @enriquecerros 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yo pienso que el español mexicano es el estándar. Todas las series y películas extranjeras son dobladas en un acento mexicano envés de puertorriqueño o argentino.

    As someone who is Canadian but has also lived in France, I don’t like the quebecois accent. It just isn’t as pleasant to the ear for me, and I find metropolitan French is more universal. I do appreciate Belgian French though, their number system actually makes sense. English: ninety nine. French: four twenty ten nine. Belgian French: ninety nine.

  • @eaglenoimoto
    @eaglenoimoto 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You are so cute, I’m probably 15 years older than you, but I have a similar thing with Spanish and French - I learned French first, for years at school and uni, and then learned Spanish, which I ended up using so much more in my life. I also mix up Spanish and French constantly. Bizarrely, what helped me a lot with both was learning Portuguese (European). It’s like the missing link between the two sometimes.

    • @emigrace
      @emigrace  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      huh! that's so interesting!! I just assumed that Portuguese and Italian would confuse me even further🤔
