What's good with KASHF projects is that issues are raised but not sensationalised. Vulgarity/Chhichhorpan nhi hota, chaska nhi hota. Boht khoobsurti se kahani ko portray kertay hain.

DNUTN was a subject that could have easily turned into a story of gore/darkness/aggression on one extreme or OTT melodrama with loads of tears, self sacrificing characters put on the pedestal on the other extreme. Thanks to the entire team involved in it's creation for keeping it real.
Inspite of the many big names in the cast, thanks for giving equal justice to all the tracks and not letting stars overpower the story.
A thunderous applause to the entire team for such a thoughtful creation.👏👏 🙌🙌

A well scripted drama which needs to be continuously reinforced so that the society as a whole and the people in power work towards stemming this horrific trafficking of women and children! It needs worldwide exposure and worldwide collective actions to bring those traffickers to book!

You can see the intention of drama makers through the drama even if you aren't aware of the hard work put into the project (if any) and DNUTN has always moved us viewers without knowing the makers' process and now there's another reason to love it.
One of the strongest aspects for me as a viewer was that it wasn't linear storytelling.. I could more easily connect to Sumbul in earlier episodes because I was watching Rakhi's story simultaneously. All right people were chosen for their respective jobs the writer, director, & the actors and it showed.

    • @sabahatmazhar6056

Admire each of her project her courage to speak about issues. Its very difficult yet important to call out patriarchy in daily day to day instances which are formed and normalised years ago but should change in society now. I had goosebumps throughout this interview. DNUTN will remain very close to my heart for innumerous reasons. The top one- I came very close to getting trafficked at an age of 20. I used to travel by train from my hometown in North India to Mysore via Delhi and Bangalore while in college. My journey was long with a 11-12 hrs lay over in ladies waiting area at the New Delhi Railway Station. I looked petite and definitely not 20 at that time. The incident happened at the platform #1 Cafeteria. While eating at a table, I was joined by a middle age couple who started a conversation with me. I was giving one word answers and had a very strong negative gut feeling about them. All of a sudden they invited me to Meerut which is 2 hour drive from Delhi. By then, every sense in my gut told me to get away as quickly and quietly as I could. I politely refused the offer. I could see the two of them communicate through their eyes. I felt negative vibes. As I got up to leave soon after, the invitation to Meerut was repeated by the man. I shook my head for a No and walked away. But I was extremely scared. I kept checking over my shoulders to make sure no one was following me. And no one was. It would be extremely impossible to forcefully abduct a person from that crowded platform but not the way this couple had approached me. God was definitely watching over me on that day and has continued to do so. It’s important to listen to our gut feelings and become street smart.

I’ve always admired Roshaneh for all that she has done towards the cause of women empowerment and for highlighting children’s rights in Pakistan. Kudos to her and her brainchild Kashf Foundation for being that beacon of hope! There couldn’t have been a better time to highlight these issues and the work being done to resolve them, and DNUTN has played a pivotal role in this. I just wish there had been a larger viewership for this gem of a production! After the recent shocking and disturbing events that have taken place, this was a much needed conversation to bring about some semblance of optimism in our hearts and minds….that there is hope for more awareness and justice for the ‘weaker’ members of our society. ❤️

DNUTN is a significant reminder of the fact that good content does not necessarily have to be preachy or non engaging to have impact. The fact that this series was so engaging and enthralling an experience, while subtly carving out a path for enlightenment to reach out in places that have been darkened by the evils of society, is a living example of the important concept of responsible capitalism. Ma Sha Allah, Ms Roshane is a very intelligent and sensible person who not only wants to change narrative but also understand how viewers are enticed by making them aware as well as entertain them. DNUTN was a prime example how responsible storytelling can be done that will create awareness but also hook them and in this case provided thrill and suspense for the audience. A masterpiece it is in every definition of the word. Kudos to her, her team and especially Amna Mufti and Kashif Nisar. Also, a remarkable interview.
PS. Will you guys interview Amna Mufti since primary foundations of the drama have been interviewed. Also it will be incredibly interesting to know her thought process, her ability to characterise her characters and also her sensitivity towards the issues. Its is humble request. 😊

I just watched this interview. I really enjoyed the intellectual talk between two educated and mature women. Thank you for all your hard work. I was hooked with DNTN from the beginning when its teasers came out. Thank you Roshaneh Zafar and your entire team for showing us an unconventional story. I appreciate Aminah for bringing us this interview. We need more interviews like these. Love from USA 🇺🇸.

A small suggestion to increase the reach of phenomenal videos like this one is to have urdu subtitles. Not everyone understands such profound English, and also considering the intent to take the message of DNUTN to the terrestrial masses, having urdu subtitles would certainly help. Great job SH & kudos to Kashf foundation.
