Amna mufti is so right about the mental state of a woman who has spent a life in a brothel. I’m glad she stuck to her guns.
I hate it when in dramas they show Rape victims getting married right away. Rape victims do not want to be touched and in our dramas they force them into a physical relationship. No time is given for therapy or to get over the trauma.
She is a treasure for us (pakistani)

So true!! And that what she said that she had to understand the psyche of the people in a brothel was so impressive. She put in the effort and homework to understand it and then ace it! To be fair she had the Kashf foundation backing on this but still wish other projects do this kind of homework too!

Yes there are dramas less about the cause and more about saas bahu look at ruswai it started strong but at end it turned into family politics

What a well spoken, intelligent lady who has clearly reflected a lot before penning this play. Absolutely right - a woman living in a brothel like Yumna cannot suddenly fall in love. So glad Amna jee stuck to her guns. You have to have the courage of your convictions. DNUTN is not a sugar-coated story. It’s about the ugly realities of our society and World.

Such a treat to listen to an intelligent individual like Amna. Agree with all the positive comments here. Additionally, I would like to point out that the technique used by Amna in DNUTN of parallel timelines was very effective. When I saw the first episode, i didn't realize that Allah Rakhi was Sumbal. When it is revealed that Sumbal went to a donkey in the graveyard, that's when I realized in horror that the adorable little girl Allah Rakhi will become Sumbal. That realization was very shocking and heart breaking because from the first episode itself, you immediately fall in love with Allah Rakhi the child. Her impending doom and how she gets trafficked loomed over our heads until the episode when she is taken to Kotha and becomes Sumbal. If the timelines were kept in sequence, it wouldn't have been as impactful. But seeing the little Allah Rakhi playing with her friends and in parallel its stark and sad contrast with Sumbal's kotha is very hard.

Bohat bohat maza aaya interview sun ke. Amna Mufti has a certain air around her that makes you want to keep on listening to her. 53 minutes passed without me noticing. Isme Shazia ka bhi kamal hai kyunke unhon ne kaafi interesting sawalaat pooche.

She’s so right about tv and film industries glamorizing prostitution in the past because we still live in the Umrao Jan fantasy, time to jolt out of it because sex trafficking is anything but consensual or romantic, it’s cruel, criminal and inhumane. These women and children need help and rehabilitation
Highly rated dramas also romanticising same thing today in the name of raqs e bismal and Khuda aur muhabbat.

As an indian who eagerly watches pakistani dramas, i can tell u Imran khan's logic tgat young muslims dknt hv role models is wrong. U take Alif, you take Kashaf murtaza..itney sarey mukkamal characters hain to draw inspiration from. Also why do you wanna propagate swords, conversion in a drama....try exploring peaceful sufism, mysticism, inspiration in daily life n what not ..
