I started with the Craftsman Versastak when I started my Commercial Electrician' Apprenticeship. It survived the first jobsite, but the wheels broke off on the next one. My coworker has that Rigid one and actually gets annoying trying to stack and un Pack them over time. I now use the Toughbuilt system and love it. After my journey on finding that packout setup, I say invest in a good brand, Milwaukee, Klein, Toughbuilt, etc. You don't have to buy the full set. Buy the roller box first and then build from there. That's how I did it and now I have a pretty legit setup
Thanks for the advice, that sucks that your craftsman broke on you so fast. I like husky also but they didn’t have a way for you to put a lock on it to protect your tools.. I’m definitely leaning towards Rigid & Hopefully one day I’ll be able to get the Milwaukee or Klein! Thanks for the support!👍🏽
I have tough built. It’s as much as Milwaukee and Klein. If you are on a budget go ridged I had that system gave it to my old lady she is a plumber. It’s a good enough system won’t let you down. Rigid also has the milk crate box available. Plus the new 2.0 stuff you can swap out the bottom box for like drawer if you want.
I appreciate it, I’m leaning to towards Rigid I really like what they have to offer & they seem more affordable. Thanks for the advice much appreciated!👍🏽

Just about to complete my 1st yr as an apprentice in September. I was gifted a Milwaukee rolling toolbox and it can fit my power tools nice but i still have a lot of other tools i would like to put up so i have been on the hunt to see what i get. As of right now we have company vehicles and our boss supllies trucks with the power tools you may need so all my stuff sits at home right now for most part except handtools im just looking for a budget friendly modular system for when i have my other friends or my step dad (all journeyman)who need help on side job work. Which has been like 2 times within my 1st yr. So i really appreciate your video man

Brother I have the RIDGID set but I don’t like it for new construction. Especially when you work on building with a lot of stairs. The handle tends to break. Good thing is you can Always take it back to Home Depot and get a new one for your replacement

Bro I’m really enjoying your content, and I find myself having the same dilemmas as you. I find it amazing that someone else out there in the world is going through the same journey as me as I’m rising up in my journey as an Electrician. You and I both have about the same amount of experience. I just hit my 1 yr anniversary in March as a Commercial Electrician Apprentice and if I heard you correctly you’re not far from me. That’s pretty awesome in my opinion. I’m also trying to make strategic purchases on tools and I got my eyes on the Toughbuilt system. I have a few of their pouches and I absolutely love them. I love the black sleek look Toughbuilt has. I watched a video another TH-camr made and it seems like not 1 Lowe’s store will have everything in stock for TB and that guy had to go to multiple Lowe’s stores to assemble his Toughbuilt set up. Eventually I’m gonna do the same thing. Yeah but uh, yeah my name is Christopher, but I go by Scott when I’m at work (last name). Keep it up bro, you inspire me to keep grinding cuz it’s really tough for me right now but I really love doing Electrical work.

I saw in another video you said you were in Texas, and in IEC, I'm looking into becoming an apprentice with them, but I've heard some people say they pay pretty bad compared to if you joined IBEW. How's your experience been with them so far? Really wanting to be an electrician but can't decide if I want to go the union route or not
Thanks for reaching out, I don’t work or go to school with IEC. When I went to the IEC they told me that I needed to put in an application & that the application will be sent out to Electrical contractors in my local area. They also told me that if one of the companies decided to hire me that the company could pay for me to go to there IEC school once a week but I would still be working with the company who hired me. Hey just wanted to give my input on the IEC. I'm in deep south TX. But most iec schools are the same you sign up with school and the have a list of contracts each school works with in the area. You can apply to any of them or just give iec your application and see who pick you up. You go to class 1 day a week for 4 hrs and you still pay a small percentage out of your pay towards school but your employer pays most of it. For my 1sy yr we had a local workforce pay our 1st 2000 hrs of work and get us our books for class. The pay they start you at is based of the contractors. They take all the average of what all journeyman make in your area and start you at I believe 55% of that and it goes up as you finish hrs. Just keep in mind that your employer can always pay you more then that but they can't pay any less.
Save your money. Get the Husky. Basic, sturdy. affordable. You can break it every 5 years, replace it new, and not feel it in the wallet. p.s. It's not the one that's going to get stolen in the site.

Husky would be my preferred choice for affordability, have Milwaukee pack out here in Ireland it’s good but in my opinion over rated. Husky has great return policy.
I am currently a junior in high school and want to get more information on becoming an electrician. Do you know if going to a 2 year trade school is better than an apprenticeship for Ibew.
How you doing Sebastian, Honestly I think trade school is good. I think going to school & having someone teach you the book while working on electrical things in a controlled environment I think is a great thing. I’m a little older so I thought it was best for me to go the apprenticeship way so that I would get paid to learn & get some experience. I’m not sure if they do that at trade school.. I could be wrong. Keep your head up you’ll be fine either way!👍🏽
If you plan on staying with a system for a long time, I'd stick with Ridgid. I've had my boxes for 8 or 9 years now and have had no issues. Look at how the wheels are attached and how sturdy the latches are on whatever box you like the most. Those are the two things that will fail first. Always remember buy the best tool you can afford.

I use the ryobi set half boxes, small box, medium, and large and a 2 drawer system, they come with these small cubes to put stuff in

The ridgid is the way to go, removable wheels are the cherry on top, place it on a 3 drawer box and boom
