I have the same helmet. What I did was cut a piece of cardboard into the same shape as the air vent (slightly larger), then used the cardboard as a template to cut the same shape out of 1/8” x 2” steel flat bar, welded a 2” bolt to the flat bar making a stud, drilled a hole in the screen for the stud to pass through, then put a nut and washer on from the inside. Primed and painted it black. Plasti-dipped the edges to prevent scratches. Looks professional, very secure, and is removable.
I don't disagree that JB welding the front vent is a risk, but when you're making more from helmet cam vids than the cost of the helmet, it makes sense to have a permanent place that doesn't move!
Will the GoPro max fit on the mount? It’s taller than something like a hero so I think the angle might be a little messed up. Right now I have it on the top of my helmet and the video just looks ugly. You can see the whole piece that sticks out and it feels weird on top of the helmet. I want to get a better point of view. This is the best pov you’ll get.
Hey i know i’m super late on this haha, but i recently just ordered my gopro hero 9 black mainly for motocross, and i saw this other guy have a mount different from the one that you reviewed in this video and when he landed after going off of jumps the mount was forced down on the landing, do you have any idea if this would happen on this or not? might be a dumb question since it wasn’t in this video, ik you said it was sturdy at the end of the vid, just wondering

I just bought a gopro hero 7 and the mount is too big for this which sucked so I had to order a mount that mounts to the side and will extend the gopro to my mouth piece!
i wanna get a dirt bike but i can’t spend a lot because my mom won’t let me. does anyone have suggestions on a dirt bike that isn’t expensive but still runs good.
That’s a loaded question unfortunately! Really depends on how well someone maintains their rides. Buying used is always a gamble, but it’s fairly easy to tell the ones that take care of their stuff. That said, there are some great deals in the used market!
Yes mate I did but I couldn’t quite tell what you used. I got a raven helmet that came with a load of accessories but like I said I don’t know what goes where 🤦🏻♂️🤣
MMFC appreciate that mate but it’s visualising what part you’ve used and connected the camera onto I’m struggling with haha. Like the bottom of my camera has one of those buckle clips if that makes sense
@@realmmfc mine do, but i dont wear fox, i got a fly f2 carbon. venting is very good. it even filters out dust in the front, has anti gogle fog vent, witch actually work really good. plus it being the third lightest helmet made is a plus. 2nd lightest is the top dog fly helmet and the first lightest is a 800$ helmet that i cant remember the name lol. made in itly i know that
Moritz Do because this view gets you closer to the action without being behind the handlebars using a chest mount. By far the best setup I have ever used.
@@realmmfc I guess I have to post a video when my knee is healed to show you the view from my helmet which is the same as your son's. Because you can angle the cam very far back so nearly see the whole upper and of course the lower body.

BlueFizz yeah. Have to have some sort of extension. The mouthpiece is inset pretty deep.
MMFC I have a bell helmet with a simular part it isn’t very deep but the camera still tilts foward heeps thats without the extension part
BlueFizz you may not need to with the bell. That epoxy is strong as hell though so be sure before you go for it!
Did you put both pieces of the mount in there? The snap in piece and the piece with the double sided tape?
It's funny how I have this helmet and thought it would be impossible to mount in the front cuz of the vent. Seems I was wrong

Good idea and footage... v3 helmet costs $600 though, so.... not gonna JB weld the front vent... will probably do this with a crappy old helmet

You got about a 6 inch in diameter vent between your chin and the bottom of your helmet lol. Helmet vents don’t make much difference.

Moritz Do I grew up racing and had a go pro mounted up top for years. Camera settings are preference and the mouthpiece mount is mine.
