Just one thing: "UserPresets" file is where CAS patterns/styles and build/buy recolors are saved, so that's another file to keep along with "Options" 🙂

OMGOSH thank you so much!! My game was stuck on the connecting page for about a week now, and I didn't know what else to do! It was after I downloaded new worlds and expansion packs. I didn't know what I had done wrong, I tried most videos on youtube nothing worked except this video! I was gonna delete the game and redownload which I was sad about, but you came to my rescue. @Naricie That's your 'User Presets'. If you don't delete it, all your favourites will be there in create-a-style.

What about,... DCCache folder and Libary folder in sims 3 can we delete whatever in there?... currious
DCCache just delete the .tmp
If you delete everything else all your cc installed with the launcher is gone

its as simple as memory with the sims 3. when the 4 gb patched worked for me I did not have any problems. the game was using 7 GB on my system it worked perfectly. changing my system to window 10 the game will do ONLY what the devs allow it to do its hard coded around 3 GB it will never go over that amount and i crash after a sims day. I cant get it to over 3 gb. I went into sims config file and change mem to 8 gb and it still does 3 GB. NO matter what i do i cant get the game to use more memory.
Hmm I'll have a look into that for you. Changing the config file didn't work for me either. I wish EA would patch it for newer computers to use more memory!
You must get the sims to first recognize newer cards to use them, look up steam and follow no lag tools they have it there
Can someone maybe help me; I used to always clear my cache (like scriptCache etc) since it alway filled up and was growing, but it doesn't happen to me anymore. All those cache stays on 1KB. Also with the DCbackup I also used to clear that except for the ccmerge and now it never gets filled up. My game is terribly laggy, but just wanted to know if this is normal?

Can you explain about making a separate folder for the downloads? 😅 I’m not sure to go about that/how it helps.
i believe what she’s referring to, is that the files that you have downloaded you just take those out the game and place them into a new folder. to do that just right click on desktop and create new folder. and then just relocate them there, 😊 and let’s say that one of the downloads isn’t in your game for some reason anymore, you can just go to that new folder you made and get it there
it’s just all about moving them to another folder and leaving the game with as least to load up so that you don’t deal with lag.

What happens if you do delete CC package by mistake
I tried doing this and the five steps from your previous video, but my game still keeps crashing. I don't know what to do anymore! 😫
why have i got electronic art in my documents and a sims 3 folders is that ok our is that the reson my sims keeps turning off when i am playing my game is it 2 copes of the same thing and sould i delet one of them please can you help me thankyou .
I tried this and it removed the game from my EA library.
DISCLAIMER: I did get my game from a discounted key on eBay -this is not the typical way to purchase the game(maybe there was some shady practice). I hear game keys are able to be discounted because sellers buy them in bulk. So this is a heads up if you got your game in a similiar way.
I WAS ABLE TO GET IT BACK.
I just went into my recycling and selected everything i deleted at this date, then "restore selected items". I can still play my game it just doesn't show up in my library.
I don't have anyway of knowing which file did this, so I probably wont try again.Hope this helped someone.
Another option to buy is instant gaming too and it’s even cheaper than CDkeys. I’ve got almost all packs for less than £30!
if you accidentally deleted everything in the DC backeup file (DC merged) how do you get it back lol I didn't realize i needed to keep that file and deleted everything in that folder (crap lol :/)

How do you fix the screen tearing on Mac?
but what about in the sims folder from steam?
Archive Programs (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/The Sims 3/
and in this folder there are few that are named by "EP3", "EP5", "EP6" ... etc.
and each folder has 5 folders, "Caches, Game, GameData, Support and Thumbnails"
in the Caches folder there is one archive with the name of a city
Bridgeport.objectCache and it's 921 MB!
each other "EP" folder has the same archive each one with 900MB or more, are they safe to delete?
How about DCCache ????
for some reason that keeps deleting my CC and I don't really wanna reinstall everything everytime I want to play, can I avoid that?
Edit: I think CC has sth to do with DCCache bc it's still there if I don't delete stuff in there.
DCCache is where all of your Sims3Packs are installed to - if you delete that folder then all your cc will disappear - don't touch that folder! DCBackup is a copy of everything that you have installed to DCCache. You can delete everything in DCBackup EXCEPT ccmerged.package

Does this all still count if we have mods downloaded, or we got the game from steam?
Yep, the game still generates junk files. The folder structure might look slightly different but feel free to ask me if you want to check files and I'll do my best to help
hey i have a question. so i bought this sims 3 from shoppee and everything is already installed, the expansion pack already there , complete. so, i have struggled to dw the nraas mod but it never appeared. n then i open my electronic art filed there is already a mof file there. Basically, if we downloading the nraas , they much likely to have their own MOD FOLDERS, right.. so shall i delete my “already available” MOD folder or just need ti create another mod files just for my nraas? (PLS HELP ME)
There should be a package and override folder and a file called resource in the mods folder
Put te nraas mods on the package folder

A lot of the files get regenerated each time. I go in after each game and delete. It’s quick and helps the game 💚

For months I have been trying to play TS3, but it keeps crashing during the loading screen, I have even tried this but it still won't stop crashing. Any advice?
I used to have this issue. I contacted EA multiple times, because I had this issue come up multiple times. I know that removing the skip intro file that automatically comes when you download a mods folder has worked. But if it still doesn't work you probably need to upgrade your RAM card or your graphics card, which worked for me when I got a new computer with high specs. I would definitely contact EA's support and asking them if there is a better solution before investing so much money into it.
My folder doesn't have any of these and I'm randomly sooo laggy! 4hrs for a diaper change

You may have accidently deleted the contents of DCCache. This is where your CC is installed.
DCBackup is a copy of everything that you have installed to DCCache. DCBackup contents can be safely deleted EXCEPT ccmerged.package
When I delete the cache do I put it in the recyling bin or permanently delete them? If I do put the cache in the recyling bin do I have to empty my recyling bin?

@@rfnchannel836 you’ll need to manually delete them every time you want to open or close the game since it randomly generates
Sorry for not replying sooner! As Roseline mentioned, the files regenerate, so you have to clear them regulary
Can I delete package files in my library folder?
The files in there are related to everything you’ve saved in your library in the game - so the Sims and lots you’ve saved or downloaded. If they are in a saved game and don’t need to be that library you can delete them. I tend to keep most of mine and just clear out in game every now and again. Hope that helps. 💚

Yes you can if you are on a Windows PC, but don’t delete if you are on a Mac!!

Nooooo! If you delete those files you'll lose your downloaded content. You can only delete the 'missingdeps.idx' if it appears in that folder but it will get regenerated.
