    Hey in this edit I left out why it was good for my boat sorry. It's good for the boat because of the landing gear in the front is raised and rubberized and sticks to the pad on the boat. Also the weight of it makes the landing gear on the battery and under the arms sink into the pad. While landing in normal mode the quad slowly comes to a landing and can be controlled.

    For an older guy who has been flying drones for a while. I enjoy flying it more then any of my other drones. I have tried to fly FPV before and this one a no brainier. When it comes to FPV flying.

    The DJI FPV is a hybrid it’s made to have fun doing about 75% of what the fpv community wants While getting incredible video to show off ..home built FPV is like riding a dirt bike or jet ski thrill to fly ..

    I got mine used too that looked and works flawlessly! Got the dji fov with 3 batteries, v2 goggles with 2 batteries, rc2 remote, motion controller v1, cam filters, 8 brand new props, light beacon, and a very nice backpack that really protects everything for only 675! Plus 25 shipping ans 19 for taxes, im super happy with what i got and cant wait to be able to fly it after Christmas (wife wont let me touch it till then) lol i also bought the rotor riot super comfy foam for the goggles and that fixed my light leaking issue (pretty sure theyre a rebrand but it works for me!)

    The prime use is for flying distance reliably... wind issues yes but gets the job done in places that would be a risk to the standard freestyle drone which is why I purchased one.
    Have built plenty of my own right up to 12 inch gear.

      So tired of people bashing this to look cool. The DJI FPV is a great quad for newer people and for people who don't want to deal with the hassle of soldering, maintaining batteries, messing around in BetaFlight, troubleshooting issues, short battery life, harder to land. You can adjust the rates to suite your needs, you can use all the same props with an adapter which changes the flight 100% it has the power to freestyle perfectly fine, the camera quality is amazing, battery life is way way better, easy to land and learn on so you will crash less, the DJI goggles are the best in the market and can be used with an 03 Air unit if you build one later, you don't need to buy an additional expensive GoPro. Its way better in every aspect except its not as fast or snappy in controls as a custom built quad. What is more aerodynamic a rectangle or a circle? hmm I guess the potato wins. Its actually NOT heavy if you compare it to a 7" quad which normally weigh around 1630g with a battery.😂

    Hi buddy. Very VERY cool review. Really liked it. Like the speed boat thing too!! Wow!! One question, why do you (as an experienced pilot) use those quick release props?! That quad becomes SO MUCH better with Gemfan Hurricane 5236 props or Spitfire T5147.5. The propwash is gone and its much more responsive. You'll never take m of again.

    Any custom product will out perform an OEM one. DJI had to take many factors into consideration when designing their FPV.

    • @DumbThumbsFPV
      @DumbThumbsFPV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      actually many OEM real FPV drones outfly this thing and are cheaper and easier to fix. This is made for new people that are too lazy or lack the skills/intelligence to build and maintain a drone. Its like when an idiot buys a Porsche and takes it to the track not knowing how to drive or fix the car.

      @@woltervandenberg oh! hmm maybe like it was buffering the wind? I could see that as a possibility however when I first flew it here at the house in the same kind of wind it was doing the same thing and no guard was on it. In a normal quad it would mean that the I gain is too low in the PID settings that would cause this but I really think it's the props flexing. The helmet recording captured the audio as well and when I was editing the video I could hear just how much the motors were having to work overtime to keep the quad stable. I'll get the prop adapters and real props and see if it fixes it. If so I'll do an update video on it.

    definition of a helmet: a hard or padded protective hat, various types of which are worn by soldiers, police officers, motorcyclists, sports players, and others.just because it makes me mad, if the goggles or id say headset (just because im a heavy VR user and so im used to a vr headset and its similar sized)
    and i agree, the foam that comes preinstalles whith the googles/headset is soo bad. its just uncomfortable, leaks alot of light and just no. i had some VR-Covers laying around the house from my vrheadsets, so i instantly replaced the foam whith it and its way better. and i also wanna replace the stock headstrap, im just serching for one that i like.the ipd adjustment works fine for me and i have ni issues whith up down or how far away it is. the radio is designed like it to apeal more to the standart dji drone buyers and normal ppl. so it dosnt look as techie or like homemade or whatever. its ment to be simpel and make it easy to use.the baterys are smart batteries. so they do it all by them selves, so they dont start burning while charging or dont brake while sitting around. as far as i know there is a little chip in there like a computer that handels it all
    the lensprotector thin is only ment for transporttation or storing. its not ment to keep on while flying. same thing whith the original. before flying, take it of. it even says it in the manual.
    oh jeah, the design of the props (im not talking about how floppy thay may be or the material) is so you can easyli and quick put them on and sof whith no tools ot something. makes it faster to deploy ald fly away. also sometrhing thats ment to make it more apealing for normal customers whos first fpv dron its is.

    Jesus Christ. This video make me want to jump off a cliff. The only thing accurate here is every time you say “I don’t know.” Goggles not helmet. Don’t like the tuning, props, battery. If it lands hard you break the battery? Dude you need like an RC Boat or stick to your kit drone. The DJI FPV is not build kit. It lands soft, batteries are smart batteries and discharge themselves. The DJI controller does everything needed. Your other controller looks like a nightmare. The “helmet” goggles recording is transmitted.. so it is gonna be raw. The Drone has the best video. Im not even gonna explain why. DJI FPV had Air Sense (alerting you to oncoming aircraft) and Emergency Stop. I have flown everything too. From Control line planes to RC planes, helicopters and drones. The DJI FPV is incredible. Kit pilots need to stop trying to compare their kits to it. There is just a new category… it’s called .. DJI FPV. It is even spelled differently than KIT. 😊
