- We have been hearing all kinds of things lately about Gorilla Glass 5 scratching. It has been scary for us early adopters! Here is some advice and some cases I have come to enjoy. Take a look!

The note 7 isn't a phone. Its a plane. Is the future. Love Samsung
Well it's such a beautiful phone but not that much more than the S7 Edge it's like an S7 Edge Plus (The Iris Scanner isn't that important and the S-Pen is just a gadget)
we have the right to love this phone for the legit and objective reasons it gives.. unlike apple fanboys with their iToys.. and the reason am even replying to this comment is to say that the S-pen is the heart and soul of the meaning of the Note.. which is the ultimate versitile and functional mobile device.. without it, its just another really nice smartphone.. and those feel really deficient and even almost crippled after using the Note, the way its ment to be used..
in Counter Strike they say.... "Note 7 Has been planted"

Phillip Pugh Well... actually im dead eager to see what this will come off with this phone... i've fallen in love with the note lineup since Note 3... i can't wait to have N7... altough these whole "hot" news recently don't sound too promising heh but i won't discard sammy from my list just because of one failure.

1. Put it in Safe
2.Put the Safe into another safe.
3.Repeat Number 2
4. now is protected

its ok all of you. Been there felt that way with Note 5. And now Note 7 better. Patience would be rewarded next year with enchanced features or save up and treat yourself with this. Make sure its hard earned money thou. Peace!

about that "ARGUING" part about scratching the display.
I know im not anyone famous or a TH-camr, but i've tested the S-view covers few times on three devices, and please believe me... these DO scratch the display on the hight of the S-VIEW window. The plastic part of the case doesn't go well with hard particles of dust/sand/etc as when you move around the phone does move too, thanks to which screen gets scratched deeply... with a tempered glass protection or without. Same effects.
Comfirmed this effect on both original Samsung cover and fake ones. As long as it is FULLY covered case it is cool. If it comes with plastic... you need to keep your phone very clean.
So in example... if you are working in a building industry like me, your pockets will get dusty, like it or not. Your phone will damage itself no matter how much you protect it. I've always treat my devices like babies, and never could get over it with such a case.
+oxoConstantinEoxo yours is the perfect situation that shows it doesn't matter what accessory you buy. It WILL scratch.
Erica Griffin If it comes to Flip Covers, yes. That is 100% correct. My sweet spot appears to have a back cover combined with tempered glass on the front, and im good to go. I'm still worried about protecting edged displays so im holding back a bit... as i can't stand plastic foil on the display...especially while using an s-pen.

IF (and that's a big if) you can find a tempered glass screen protector that actually fits I imagine it will interfere with any case you use...
I'm going to be trying that out soon.

Not paranoid, but I fell holding my note 7 and my palm and the bottom of the note 7 smashed and slid into the ground, broke it release day, after setting it up a day before because I preordered it...luckily American Express has a 90 day accidental damage/theft coverage policy. But now I get my note 7 probably 2 weeks later than release day lol :/
Anyone have a way to make my text message notifications remind me every minute or two if I don't check it? My note 3 had that feature built in, the note 7 didn't have it.

+Erica Griffin oooh awesome, thanks! I'll have to check that out when I get my phone back from Samsung lol definitely a good idea to protect it. I might have to get one of those flip covers. I saw someone say accessibility some reminder, but it didn't make the same alert sound. Does this actually repeat custom notifications if I set different sounds for each person?

I just checked, smart alert just vibrates when I lift my phone, it's not the same thing and that feature is useless to me, because I'll see the notifications if I pick up my phone. :/ I need my phone to constantly repeat my text notification. I'm not going to pick up my phone every 2 minutes, nor will that feature wake me up if I'm sleeping. I did a search in the settings and smart reminder doesn't exist, smart alert does, but it's not the right thing.
Not liking these curved glass phones for the reason that tempered glass protectors are a lot harder to put on and they don't always come out well.
Wow I spoke too soon that company is amazing. I've never seen one with such a simple self installation process.

I'm not one for cases lol, I love just looking at and holding the phone itself. But the screen protector really does it for me. And I LOVE how the Pure gear screen protector is applied!

Those cases are really cool! I'll be upgrading to the Note 7 next month.
The next iPhone be better than the S7 Edge or the Note 7 or it will be the end for Apple.
It won't be the end, I thought the s6 was better than the 6s and apple are still around. But hopefully people will start to consider phones other than the latest iphone
they won't , because apple brainwashed them !
+Finlay McEwan besides, you can do alot on android phones for free. iphone sucks they milk so much money.
What's good about Apple is the ecosystem. Very fluid, very well made, very beautiful, very functional. In term of features other phones are ahead but with the iPhone you never feel like you need more. Once you start using services like iMessage you can see how stuff doesn't feel third party like on android where you have a. Million choices. Having said that, phones like this note 7 are very tempting to switch to since I think Samsung is doing a terrific job and the features feel far better integrated unlike the past gimmicky stuff. That screen is gorgeous

It's weird to me that people still have a boner for Apple failing.

watching this on my note 7 right now, i got mine 3 days ago and i love it... i choose the plastic cover case for it's more affordable here in Singapore, i feel like no need to put a plastic for scratches on the screen if you have the case with the cover anyway... have a good one!

Hey Erica, I've been loving your videos lately, you've got a new sub! My question is... Have you found the battery on the phone draining significantly more when these cases are in use as opposed to when they're not? I'm just concerned these may suck up battery life, what have you found?

That LED case is pretty cool and if I had not already ordered my standard U.A.G case that I LOVE LOVE LOVE and have used since the S3 I would get it. I do however look forward to seeing you talk about the OEM screen protector. I hope its case friendly!

I had a Zagg Invisible Shield applied and I will be returning it. It covers the edges mostly, but it comes right up with both cases I own. I'll try the glass version of the one you posted if I can find it in stock.
As for cases, I like thr LED one after seeing the features better. I have a Spigen NeoHybrid and it's sleek, unassuming, and adds better grip. The slight bulge on the corners is promising to me. I think this will be my daily case for now as I'm coming from a Note 4 and wanting to appreciate the always on display (at least for now). I also got a black Speck candyshell, but the speaker cutout is smaller than the phone's speaker. I'm already not impressed with the speaker, so I think that'll go back.
I'm used to a protector and case; it doesn't bother me. I can still appreciate the form of the Note 7 vs my Note 4 even in a case.
Finally someone that protect the phone instead of destroying it for youtube :)

Why would the LED case need to be charged? Does it have actual LED lights built into it?
I always thought the light for the pixels was coming from the phone's display beneath it.

I have a note 4 for 26 months, screen protector and a case, it looks like new so I can get a good price when I sell it, my girl friend had a s5, had a case and decides to take it off, told her to upgrade early to the s7 edge because the s5 looked battered, now she keeps her phone protected at all times cause she is clumsy. Does that answer your question, it only takes one slip then

When you say that the screen protector made the screen "tacky," what do you mean? Usually screen protectors are helpful for people who use the pen a lot as the screen is often too slippery for the pen. Some resistance helps drawing, for instance.
ive always preferred matte screen protectors on phones/tablets, do you think this might effect the screen response to the s-pen?

I bought the s view window case and I'm just wondering if it's normal for the flap to not close completely? like there's a few inches gap between the phone screen and the case. Will it be flat eventually over time?

I tried a Skinomi screen protector and have a Spigen case. The case fits so tight around the curved glass that it popped off the Skinomi. And yes, it felt a little sluggish to use the screen with a protector for me as well. It also made the screen look less vibrant, just like most others. This is a beautiful display and very responsive.
Will you also buy the battery case of Samsung?

I have the S-View Flip Cover on my Note 7. It fits perfectly, what I don't like with it is that, I noticed that there is a missing hole where one could view the LED light while charging without the need to open the cover. Taking it out of the cover to use the Gear VR can also be troublesome. The Always-on display of the flip cover where it shows the time, is inconsistent with it's brightness. There is no way to adjust the same. Anyway the size conforms with the overall handling feel without adding on the bulk. Good case.
a question, how does your phone know when to display the lockscreen as the small window on top when the case is closed? is it through magnets?
Curious about the Samsung battery case. Would love to see that in a future video
Hey Erica, my only complain about the flip covers is actually taking photos. Generally, you'd be taking a photo one-handed which would require you to open the cover completely, the cover would then be in the way of the camera lens. So for the LED cover, you'd have to keep it open partially and the other two, your camera would be pointing through a plastic screen protector.
How's your experience been with that?

Just a little question. Currently have the Note 4 and using a Qi card for some charging but i noticed the wallet case blocks it quite a bit. Does that LED Wallet cover blocks it on the note 7 too ?
