    The serenity of watching your plane fly on such a nice day takes me back to my days flying a Melora a dihedral plane with the same flight characteristics. Cheers

    Marginal days can be some of the most enjoyable flying working the light lift. Beautiful vid.

    Definitely a pleasure when it stays up in light conditions. I am living vicariously through your videos during a Calgary snowstorm at the moment. Cheers from Canada!

      Yayyy Canada 🇨🇦 If you’ve looked closely at my cap you’ll see it’s a True North cap which I picked up in Vancouver in 2019. But I spent my early years growing up in Kingston On.

    Great video that brought back memories. God knows how you got that piano up there though.

    I remember a lovely Summer's evening flying from Kent's Holly Hill slope. It was nearing sunset past 9pm floating my Sunduster glider too and fro on the very light breeze seeing hot air balloons taking off from Leeds castle in the distance with their bright glowing intermittent burners going and gradually getting bigger and bigger in the sky. The orange from the sunset was lighting up the Sunduster's semi translucent tissue covering and for 20 minutes or so I created memories that will last the rest of my life. Great times. A very relaxing video thanks...👍

    I use to fly slope as a teenager on the Westbury White Horse, always enjoyed flying in min wind conditions as it tested your model and flying ability, that was many many years ago, really enjoyed your video and love your BIrd Of TIme soarer. 👌👍

      Thanks Anthony. You may have seen some of my other videos that feature my BoT also. Particularly the one where I’m flying with John Woodfield in Cornwall. Then there’s the series of micro BoT videos also.

    Nice filming. Quite excited about the MPX Heron. My first glider. Just bought one 2 weeks ago. I'm painting it for more visibility, should be ready next weekend.

    Nice Steve, at least ferns are soft, we have a lot of gorse as well on Dartmoor, now that's nasty stuff, looking forward to your next video 👍

    Good call to take a motorized plane along as well. Nice flights. The farm fields around our club field are usually planted with canola and boy is that stuff hard to walk through if I have a plane go down.

    Great! I see there is the Heron and the Solius. Which do you think is the better aircraft? I hear the Solius is quite arobatic, but is the heron also capable? I'm thinking of pure slope gliding in my case. Thanks!

    Yes the ferns have sprouted a lot in the last month. It wont be long before they are chest high and able to hide even the biggest and brightest plane. Extra caution needed.

    We used to have a standing joke about power off the slope - "Every launch, with motor on, causes the pilots balls to shrink ever-so-slightly, until eventually, they disappear..." ;-) Much prefer to chuck her off and fight for it, only giving in to the motor when admitting defeat!

    Hi Steve how much nose weight have you got? Mine is around 333gms atm still playing about with it but we are getting there and loving it!

    • @A470RCSoaring
      @A470RCSoaring  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know Steve. I bought mine 2nd hand so it was almost ready to fly when I got it.

      Hi Steve looking at your micro bot series l can see that you don’t have to worry about the xtra weight too much the Thornberg design can obviously tolerate cg and nose weight extremes as he discusses on the original plans more weight means more speed on landing tho ! Thanks for your inspiring posts too

    I love spot and some nice flying but that green plague carries a risk of ticks, nasty little critters that carry all sorts of illnesses, some of 'em quite serious and longlasting ...... beware !

  • @stepheny6321
    @stepheny6321 ปีที่แล้ว

    Aren't the ferns called Bracken?

    • @A470RCSoaring
      @A470RCSoaring  ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe, although I thought bracken was stiffer & more robust. Not so good to land models in.
