There’s a guy who uses the crab claws and legs to fish in the Brownsville ship channel and catches pretty good size black drum. He ties the claws and legs up with some string and makes like a little bundle and then puts it on the hook. I’ve never tried it but it seems like it would work! Great video man
They're full of worms and don't taste very good, especially the older and bigger the worst they taste. You can search black drum and will see why most people don't eat them because worms.
Favourite TH-camr. The best vibes. So much fun, so much love, so much positivity. Big inspiration! Keep doing your thing Coop! Buuuuuut.....You ever fish any fresh water stuff? Would love to see your take on it for a video or two
Idk about the legs but I can vouch for claws being good bait. An old man told me they were good bait and I didn't believe him but one time I was desperate and tried it and had a big black drum in a matter of minutes. I prefer to use 2 claws and crush them up. Just caught some on claws a couple weeks ago.
Crush the claw under foot to let out some of its scent and put it on the hook like that, I’ve gotten some great drum that way! Keep up the great vids man!
Crab claws are king! Went dock fishing with the fam down in Cocoderie LA with cracked crab and shrimp a few years ago. I was just using the shrimp and let my dad, uncle, and cousin use the cracked crab. They caught a few 26" black drum so I figured I'd switch baits, little did I know they had already used all the crab. Being the resourceful person I am I noticed that they had littered the dock with the crabs claws to make it easier to handle when baiting up, so I grabbed two big claws and threw it out with a 2 oz weight. That's when the big boys came out to play. We caught nothing but 42"+ drum with my PB of 52" until 2am in the morning. Left them biting since we were completely worn out fighting those monsters all night! Definitely one of the best family fishing trips and memories to this day.
What a nice drum, I had a extremely similar experience, had a fresh half cut blue crab on a line out in Copano Bay. As the sun went down so did my rod, giant 36” black drum. Can’t beat it!
My biggest red drum was 52" from mouth to tip of tail. 49" from mouth to bottom of Y in the tail. Caught on 6"-7" pinfish. I wish I could fish as much as you.
Yea, those Ray's are certainly weird. But there was this one time a fat girl swam up to my boat..she wanted a sandwich..I got creeped out & i may have hit her with the anchor.
7:30 I use TUBE GAUZE (Finger Bandages) for the claws. Tire a knot on the end of the tube. Cut it about 6-8" long. Mash up a couple claws. Put the crab chunks inside. Use the hook to close the ends of the tube. Twist it a couple times and run the hook thru the middle. I've caught up to 3 bulls on one bait!
Nice catch I caught and 86 pounder out of Delaware Bay off of Cape May New Jersey on a big bull clam we needed a Sawzall to fillet it they they used to use the scales as guitar picks
Man you have to try out VuDU shrimp! In south Louisiana we swear by those baits. They last forever and they will catch everything. Great video bro, keep it up! Let's hit 300k this year!!!
I have caught some good black drum on the claws. Got the idea from See Ya Dude's channel since I fish bridge pilings like he was in the video. Works like a charm.
Nice Drum , great closing music. I bet you are the tallest guy at the pool hall in Corpus Crispy if ever you go. I surely was the only night I'd been there, I looked around, maybe forty dudes in the joint and at 5'10.5" , it was the first time that ever happened to me. Well good on you . '
Down here in south Texas some people catch 3 or 4 big uglys on claws and a piece of fish bite on a hook with a rubber band wrapped around the claw and fish bite to keep em on the hook for them to cast out again as soon as they land the fish
Crab claws are bad ass! I use them all the time when fishing for big uglies and bull reds. I crack them just a little bit to release some scent and hook em through the joint. Also caught bonnet head sharks with claws. And they won't get eaten out as fast as a half crab and cast easily.
I use those claws alllll the time to catch black/red drum.. You Crack them just a little bit hook them through the elbow and it will stay on the hook forever. Put a small piece of fishbite on it and your good...Great if you have small fish in the area.
I caught a 33" Black Drum on a #6 hook with a small piece of peeled dead shrimp while fishing for whiting on the beach in about 3 foot of water. Unreal...
My wife is Japanese, they make a dish called Ei Hire, it’s. Sweet and basically like jerky, they grill it and serve it raw. Taste and texture out if this world.
we use whole crab in NC all the time for the big bull reds our reds up here can get up to 60 inches so they have no trouble chomping on a whole blue crab
The Fallout music killed me😂
I knew there would be a fish soon after that
Same!
@@cliftontarrant4054 same i thought you can't use that due to copyright? let me know
It s not just fallout music it’s a real song
6:52 hey bro watch your jet...

I appreciate the fallout theme 😂 beautiful drum too man
"Chummin it up”. Throws rotten shrimp head 3 feet. "Successfully chummed”. 👍
Truly.
Been loving the content and music choices ! Honestly the best editing for fishing channel category. Keep up the great work man!
I like how you released the big breeder fish more people need to do that much respect!

ive caught a 42 inch with just the claw and a fish bite hooked on yes they do work.
So you just crush the claws a bit then?? Then hook thru the shell?
Wrap up the legs and the claw in a rubberband. Perfect bait for Drums that are 25 plus. You can even add a tiny piece of fishbits.
Blue crab claws are super good baits for reds.
Your putting in work on that microskiff! Keep up the good work brother 🤙🏽
That is what my father always used in the Louisiana marsh, when he caught a red it was a big one.
Love the runescape music, brings back good memories!
Man, those big old blues were bigger than most of the fish I catch over here in Spain. I mean, those baits were dinner! :-)
Love the content my man stay safe and catchem

9:05 I seen that tug and instantly knew "BBBBIIIIGGgg black drum...." lol
That drum looked pretty healthy for being that big. He wasnt even to ugly.
I catch more on crab claws. They're perfect. The very small legs work well too!
Fallout 4 theme ... haha great stuff as always, Coop. Sending you positive vibes in hopes of a tarpon this year.
I fish in the northeast US. NY, NJ area. We catch fish on just claws but I prefer the body. Crack the shell so they make more scent.
either you recorded this several days before or you are just magic and you make the weather sunny.
Need to catch a Deathclaw now

Interesting 🤔
Pour tequila and sand on them ...the crabs get drunk and kill each other throwing rocks..
What did you expect...lobster!??
Lmao

I must say, stingrays are one of the most alien looking creatures we have on our planet. 😂
Yea, those Ray's are certainly weird.

Great job Coop!!!
When you said that’s the noobiest way you could put a shrimp on a hook I felt so attacked 😂 😆
What an amazing day on the water! Way to go!
Crack those claws and legs a bit so the scent can get out and they work fine for bait.
Good copy, didn’t know that
This must have been from a week ago, the weather in corpus has been absolute trash !
Fish dying and coming up on the shoreline it just got way to cold to fast.

yes most people don't use the claws, but they work...the key is to crack the shell all over and peel off some of the shell..it works!
I have caught some good black drum on the claws. Got the idea from See Ya Dude's channel since I fish bridge pilings like he was in the video. Works like a charm.
Crab claw is great bait. I hook it at the folding joint. Then slightly crack the claw for extra scent. Caught bull reds and huugggeee drum that way
Literally playing fallout 4 right now and randomly clicked this vid as it was recommended. How. Why. I love TH-cam.
I've caught alot of reds and black drums on just the claw
Black drum especially, they want anything that’s hard and stanky
That boy Coop roaming the wasteland 🤘
Awesome catch bro! The head on that drum was wild! It had to have been the Fallout background music. Fish on bro!
