- A day playing offroad with the Land Rover Discovery 3 at Tong. Organized by disco3.co.uk members.
Video doesn't do justice to angles of inclines and roughness of terrain. The D3 also makes it look easy. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Love my lr3 its a great suv. Takes me everywhere I gotta go
Surprised without snorkel. Sick
This is off-roading in style!!! I have a 2005 D3 and a 2002 Discovery II. I love them both.
Great video, music quality is awesome!
the LR3 are the best all terrain truck!!! i love it!
I have a 2006 LR3 HSE. It's all Land Rover, believe me. Two weeks ago my wife and I took 4 hours to travel 6 miles alone the Banie Mine Road near Prescott, AZ. I had it in Rock Crawl all the way. It may look a little fluffy, but it's all Land Rover. Believe me, I have the pin stripes to prove it.
That's the joy of cross linked air suspension. When you want to do the school run it sits low and normal, but when you want to cross fields, forge rivers or climb rocks, you twist a dial and it jacks up.
made that look easy!!!
LR for ever!
hurray!! you are an army of winners!!
Absolutely incredible.
Great vid , I too love my LR3👍
Here in AZ we don't have a whole lot of mud. In fact it against the law to drive back and forth threw it. Here things get a little like the Twilite Zone. My first 4x4 was a Toyta FJ-40's. I loved the first one and hated the New and Improved one. I had the first one for 2 radiators, 3 clutches, 2 steering boxes and a rear end. I loved it. I'm 64 now and that LR3 with AC rides smooth.
I love my LR3
@TopGear577 There is a vent on the right side. It is standard
are they? I used to work for Land Rover some time back, all the mechanics were grumbling about land rover leaving it's roots. Good to know, I always loved driving those things around. The discovery II and defender were badass, the range rover was like mad insane offroad. I got myself a Toyota FJ recently and love it to death, it reminds me of those.
Great stuff! Put another video up of this event!
Noticed only 2 vehicles had raised air intake on too, plus the hill decent just seem to lock up the wheels on muddy decent !! Fantastic site is Tong used to go on regulal basis until some little towrag stole my Landy !!
great to see them being used
How deep does the water crossing get? The bow wave looks impressive.
How deep can these go in water? or is there some kinda modification or trickery going on?
@ dogsbody how do you compare the disco 2 to the disco 3, is one more capable than the other?
Was the HDC in use on the suicide hill?
Does the Discovery have air suspension like the Range Rover? or did ur raise the cars?
@ dogsbodi sorry had a little spelling difficulty there for a moment
Thanks for the awesome video! We just took ours offroading in Ocala, Fl. This trail looks really fun, where was this?
Was there any mod's needed or do those water crossings or will a stock vehicle be OK?
Stock will ford 29" of water.
Buying me a new Disco 4 next week.... can't wait to get it dirty!!!
killer music track
Yeah, that was a very quick descent. A lot quicker than I'd be game to do.
Doesn't water get inside the door?
I have the LR2 and I am seriously debating on getting the 3 or 4 series
Daphnie Tudor did you ever get one?
I have a 2007 LR3 HSE...PETROL that has some sort of a paricidic battery drain pretty much overnight...
Any suggestions of where to start?
congratulations land rover, you have just managed to create the first internal combustion engine which runs on nothing but diesel and muddy water
@jdomes The 2003-2005 Range Rovers had BMW's in them.
Then they went down hill.
what about reliability of LR3 2006/07 and its diesel efficiency? I'm thinking to buy a used one since I cant afford the new 2012 model :( any input will be much appreciated
lol...the LR3 actually has many more off-road capabilities equipped than the previous years...I can see what your saying though because it lost it's rugged utilitarian looks; now it looks futuristic and as if it should not be deep in the woods four-wheeling...but it still is tough and can pull through...it's just doing it while looking "pretty"! lol
did they all stay dry on the inside?
Land Rover LR3/4 are the only vehicles I know that actually use 3 door seals.
Thx for the reply.
i have a HSE but i really want a LR3
Is that Tong in Shropshire or Tong in Kent?? Apologies if someone asked that off the page somewhere in the past...
Bradford...
So that logic would mean the series 2 discovery is a soft series 1?
Super
Nice video.
What's the music?
@charandeep1000 so do I!!!!!
wish I could own one of those cars.
Ha ha ha, I'm like you...seriously considering a 2005-2006 model!! There isn't a huge difference from those models to 2012- They say the LR4 isn't a new model, just a continuation from the LR3...I mean think about it, it's not a massive change to deem it a "new model". I'm concerned with liability too, that's why a good long warranty is imperative!!!
if only diesels came to the U.S., we could do that.
Are these V8s?
+Raul Tenenbaum they can be purchased with a V6 or V8 in the lr3 model
the UK has some tough terrain
As usual, Land Rovers making it look all too easy!
Broncos? I see them broken down on roads, I never have seen one off road and I go everywhere.
Not sure if sarcasm?
well the lr3 has too much electronics it almost drives itself, im a fan of the disco 1
@kbs1664 over here in kenya, its 18 million shillings for a range rover, used it's eleven million, it's like buying a house man....
other like size vehicle can do this too...
Wow 😮 I thought they had to have a snorkel to do this. Just shows don’t need it
que bainota no se detiene por nada
and no snorkel
@Hobbydude1974 O hellllll yeah. I had an 88 bronco, I hit a telephone pole and reversed and drove it away with no damage, same cannot be said for the Rover. And not to mention Ford as the best truck out by far.....THE RAPTOR!!!!!
Suicide hill? BAh Not even one death?!
why the wlid-ass banging music so we can't hear the comments of riders?
@TheGatorfun nope. doesnt look like it does it any easier. and id have all of the thousands of dollars more you spent to buy gas and other fun things.
Have you seen the repair bills on these things??? Buy one of these if you have money to burn.
Grandizer 45 ciao I have a 1996 N reg and love it have spent so much on it 6 inch lift snorkel guards and roof tent LPG gas I've spent ££££ on it and love it
What repair bills?
Everyone is forgetting the real issue of land rovers. Its not that they are not good off road. Its the fact they have the worst reliability issues of any company since Yugo.
There's a lot about life I know, but one that I can't figure, why these dumb people have their trailer hitch on when offroading.
umm... doesnt look like anything i couldnt do with my $400 ford ranger
BUY A FORD
Land Rover should have been sued long ago for making cars they knew would fall apart with very low miles
