  • The new MotoGP technical standards are set to take effect in three years. There will be a number of new regulations that have a significant impact on how well the motorcycles’ function. There are currently a number of controversial features that cause people to disagree, like the proliferation of aerodynamic advances (some of which are quite strange) and the sheer number of electronic devices on bikes, such as riding height and holeshot devices.
    The current technical championship regulations were put in place in 2022 and will run out in 2026.

      I think the aerodynamics is fine 🤔 ?!? It's the traction control, quick shift, and slipper clutch that needs to be done ✔️ with. Speed could be reduced just a little. Aero this year is outrageous. Front winglets okay the rest of it needs to go. Hole shot gadgets & auto adjusting corner suspension is also rediculous. We need great riders like Toprak not gimmicks. Currently no manufacturer makes an 850cc sport bike & they shouldn't. The 1000cc sport bikes with adjustable trackion control make it easy for riders to get started on a bigger bike & unleash its greatness when they build confidence in their riding. 600s are nearly gone. All that'll happen if they drop the limit to 850 is, they'll rev the engines even higher to claw back the power and without a bag full of electronics they're totally unrideable . It's bad enough as it is, buttons for launch control, ride height devices, anti wheelie, pit lane limiters, gyro's and speed sensors ,traction control.....the focus is being taken off the rider and more on the electronics , he can more or less just whack the throttle wide open and the electronics sort everything out, same with a race start, press button for ride height, another for launch control, nail the throttle, lights go green, let clutch out, electronics takes care of everything.

    Think the 850cc is a huge step backward. If they would look at what caused racing to start sucking, then cut out those changes. Lose areo, ride height devices, holes shot devices, wheelie control, traction control. If your bike is too stupid fast to keep it in a straight line or to hold the front wheel on the ground. Then let the manufacturer start backing the power down. We need to get back to rider skills not bike skills. Almost any idiot can go fast on these bikes. Learn all the buttons and when and where to push what and you're good to go the bike will do the rest. When you have a rider come into a corner then as soon as he hits the apex hold it wide open and let the electronics take care of the rest. We could train monkeys to do the riding. Then we'd have the full circus.

    A old statement I know. lowering the CC's will make very little difference to speed, after all, you can only take this corner at 60 mph a small improvement on the speed maybe, anymore you in the gravel,

    Hearing the same old tat from most of peoples opinions…here’s mine as an engineer…aero has to stay with electronics and swing arm upgrades etc….this is what makes it the pinnacle of motorcycle sport.engineers are allowed a free reign within the rules and it’s bought some amazing motorcycles to the fore….or if we revert then there’s no need for a MotoGP class.we have to push boundaries to see what is possible.he 800 era was interesting without time to develop.the new 800s won’t be anything like there predecessors.and it’s not about Ducati dominance as Honda and Yamaha have also dominated at periods.sometimes shaking the tree gives a new perspective.

    A change of engine size is aimed at giving the Japanese manufacturers an advantage, due to greater resources and testing of differing capacities, which the Europeans don't have. The Japanese have been embarrassed by the Europeans success and their inability to respond. Likewise with the pioneering aerodynamics which will also be banned. This is very short sighted, MotoGp currently enjoy a wide range of manufacturers and full grids, they should remember just a few years ago we had only Japanese machines, with grids numbering in single figures. World Superbikes was far more popular and Grand prix motorcycle racing could not justify its ‘blue ribbon’ title. The racing has never been as close and spectacular as it is now. Don’t mess with something that isn't broken. We really don't want to end up like the F1 freight train, where they need DRS to allow cars to overtake anywhere other than in the pits, where it's the car/team that wins not the driver, they will probably do away with the drivers and just run the cars remotely before long, saving a fortune on their primadonna drivers!

    The trend of all of motorsports dialing back on power and speed is so anti motorsports. I hate it. F1, WEC, WRC, MotoGP...everything gets slower.

  • @maticcro5992
    @maticcro5992 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    This is really Bad because it is going to cost manufacturers ten or hundreds of millions developing new engines and within A year or two bike will be just as fast as They are now. You should limit top speeds or engine power so the bikes are more equal... Leave the electronics as they are because with this much power, eventough some would like it without electronics as it would get more interesting, but we need this Electronics to keep Riders safe

    • @scamperggl
      @scamperggl หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @maticcro5992 thanks for the first sane comment I read about riders safety and skills. I guess the dudes writing it reuires almost no skill, just ful throttle and let the electronics do the rest have no idea what they are talking about and probably never sat on a bike close to the performance of a modern race bike.
      I am a hobbyist and have a Daytona 675R for the track without electronics, which is good to train my skills.
      But at the same time I don't wanna miss dynamic electronics like TC on my Super Duke 1290 R with 50 HP and twice as much torque and have a truck load of respect for the riders, knowing how unreachable this is for me, high siding does really hurt

  • @stug77

    Lol just make them meet emissions, those numbers will come down hard.
    Or, better yet, limit teams to two engines per season with no displacement restriction or weight minimum. Then we might get something worth buying out of the development.
    Edit: Tertiary to the above rules, implement horsepower limits on certain tracks, that way certain (slower) tracks will bunch up the slower teams, and, there'll be less incentive to build 300hp monsters because you have to lug that weight around at the "regulated" tracks.

  • @scottstambaugh8473

    Reducing the speeds...? Ummm.... How about no rules: Whatever gets you around the track fastest, wins. That would be limiting in itself, and would be consistent with the idea of an elite class. I do hate the aero, tho. Those bikes are ugly. UGLY.

    They almost ruined the sport and forced into bankruptcy last time they lowered the cc' displacement. Just ban aero and electronic rider aids. There are plenty of electronic advancements they can make to the motors themselves which would create more linear powerbands, eliminating the need to electronic aids.
