Labour and Love - Percy Fletcher (Recorded on 6th october 1984, Royal Albert Hall, London). Unforgettable!
Massed Bands: Foden O.T.S. Band, The Hanwell Band and Yorkshire Imperial Band, conducted by Major Arthur Kenney. It's the first 'original' test piece, commisioned by John Henry Iles for the National an the Crystal Palace in 1913.

I was 14 and playing Repiano cornet for Horden Colliery band and this was our test piece for Blackpool summer gardens. The year was 1975. Takes me right back to the time. Fabulous piece of music.

My favourite piece for brass band bar none.
Never a squeakier bum than mine aged about 15 on solo trombone with Segga band on contest day with this as the test piece. I'll not forget what a smash in the face the end is either. Still love it though :)
